I have put this up on fb and sent it to lots of friends and my Flamenco dance teacher. I know she'll appreciate it. I totally feel like that kid half the time in class-my brain seems to get it but it just will NOT talk to my feet. Like coolschool said, I look around the studio and think, "How the FUCK are you DOING that?"
you CANNOT rotate the ankles without rotating the knees too, otherwise they could get injured. christ...ballet isnt for kids, they don't understand yet its movements and its tooo boring for em.... take em out there till they grow up!!!!
@kingferdinanz you cant wait til theyre older. ballet is like gymnastics. you can only do it professionally up to a certain age. its takes many years to reach the professional level, so if you waited til the dancers were older to start, by the time they hit professional level, theyd be too old to dance. im not saying they couldnt do it for fun, but you wouldnt have any professional ballerinas with long careers.
@LMA629- I dunno, man. Natalia Makharova stared at 13 and Rudolph Nuryev started when he was 17. There are always exceptions to the rule. I, too, think it's better to have kids start at a later age- maybe 7 or 8. A professional career is attainable and better understanding of their bodies leaves fewer possibities for injury.
I saw this link shared on a friend's facebook, and thought I would watch it. Much to my surprise, it is MY class. I am the teacher. This was an adorable class. I miss little ones. I am now teaching high school English and theater! :) Send my love to any of my dancers!
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Eu ri
As a ballet teacher I love to see little ones figuring out how there bodies work. She is absolutely adorable. Children do their best to copy their teacher but don't always understand how to make their feet or bodies do the positions. When it comes to turnout children tend to turn out their arms when they are trying to turn out feet.
@DOCJDH going around telling people they have a problem doesn't fix anything. I'm also a dancer and Teach children classes and have seen many children do this mostly for balance. Also if she does have this "disorder" ballet is great therapy for disorders regarding your body skills. I have seen many children improve from thing through ballet. She's on the right track then
@oneilann4 Go online and look up Retained Primitive Reflexes.OTs receive special training to provide therapy for such cases.Note the girl to your right of the main character and she has her arms down by her sides. Also note the extreme arm distorted position as the central girl tries to turn he feet. The girl on the left also has some mild issues. That's not to say these reflexes can't be "worked out".I have seem them in teenagers with major developmental issues.Pretending not so won't help.
@DOCJDH she's fine if you even had sense to check her channel you would see there are videos of the little girl four years later and she can dance perfectly well
I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It makes me smile from ear to ear. She is absolutely adorable, I honestly don't know how any one could've been there and see her do this and not just sweep her up in their arms. What a doll!!!! Give her a big kiss from me, Mom! :)
She is so cute trying so hard and how disciplined they all are considering that they are 3 years old. I am glad she ended up being the best dancer in her class.
This is one of my favorite videos on you tube for the following reasons: 1) She has the same HC as 2 of my daughters (when they were little) and my granddaughter (when she was that age) ADORABLE! 2) She keeps trying and doesn't give up! 3) Her sweet teacher is so encouraging. 4) I LOVE the teachers comment at the end to her, "It's OK if your shoes won't do it, don't worry". Thank you to Anna for blessing me and making me smile every time I watch this, which has been more than I can count!
This child has a problem called Retained Primitive Reflexes. Notice when her feet turn out, so do her arms. If she was made to turn her toes in the opposite would happen with her arms. This is a reflex from birth that should have been integrated by now and requires therapy. Basically, what ever her feet do, so do her arms so her lower body half is stuck with to the upper, so to speak. Note she couldn't willfully turn her feet out.
@DOCJDH I don't know what kind of specialist you are, sorry, but I'm a dancer and what I know, by practice, is that everybody's got a natural tendence for doing the same. Example: If you got to open your leg, the natural tendence of your arm will be opening it too, so it demands much more training to make it in a different way (close arm + open leg). That's the reason the little girl opens her arms. But the fundamental reason is other, and much more simple: balance.
@gabrielacarneiro No, it is not natural. These Retained Primitive Reflexes begin before birth and aid in delivery of the child through the birth canal, and also in self righting off the floor. Most are supposed to be intergrated into movements (which means not seen on testing such as walking pigeon toed or ducklike. There are many such reflexes - Moro, Spinal Gallant, Asymmetric Spinal Reflex, Tonic neck reflex and so on. At 3 she may grow out, but may not either.
@waran4 You do realize alzheimer is when you can't remember things or you're unable to acquire new memories and it has nothing to do with your legs...
Poor little girl, she is so cute!!! But I'm sure she is growing in confidence day by day, she just need exercise it, I'm a fencer it isn't easy the first steps though :)
Precious! I love this so much! You can tell she's really frustrated if you watch her hands. Poor thing though, no turnout what so ever... But soooo adorable
This is so adorable...but this little girl needs to be taken to a doctor. Problems with balancing when turning your toes out is a symptom of some disorders including visual problems. Please get her checked out. She's precious.
I can't understand why anybody would dislike this video! She's adorable!
