Don't get me wrong, Red Dwarf USA could never have held a candle to the original, but since they had Robert reprising his Kryten role, and another Brit as Holly,... PLUS, Jane Leeves was GORGEOUS, it would have been a treat. And in one clip I saw, she seemed to go sexy with it, something that would have made me like this role better than her soon-after role on Frasier.

They still got it. 1 was slow but it was a set up for the other parts. It was classic Red Dwarf and it felt like they never missed a beat. The laugh track was missed a bit but I got used to it and still laughed at all the jokes.

Well it mentions a series 9 and 10 in episode 2 so that may be a hint that they will do another series if Red Dwarf is successful again that will probably explain things as well like why Rimmer is a Hologram again as well as why Kochanski is gone, and judging from what that little girl says she dumps dave by escaping in a bug and that girl knows from watching Back to Earth now XD like some kind of Time Loop

The reason they didn't film infront of a live audience was to keep the plot a secret. Also series 7 was filmed without a live audience. Its pretty bad if you can only enjoy a joke if they have canned laughter. I think its better without because when you watch it again you might find something else funny that you missed before.

I thought the first episode of the new dwarf was just utter garbage, felt like i was watching something very low budget by the pace and lack of any plot sequence.

The jokes were OK they did make me laugh even without the laughter track, but the pace and lack of plot or any interesting dialogue spoiled it, there seemed to be absolutely no explanation for anything happening on screen, and no explanation of the in-between series 8-9.

Epic fail, might pick up in later episodes though.
