    I'm on my first day of a raw foods diet but my diet includes raw milk, raw seeds and nuts, sprouts, vegetables and berries.

    I noticed that Steve kept his nut intake to a minimum. Does eating nuts slow down your results or something?

  • @monoroma1 don't think about "how to start" :) Just go to the store, buy a TON of fruits and vegetables.. all the types you can find! find out what you like, and start eating it to the max. That's the key!

  • I don't have too many nuts, mainly salads and fruit. I have lost 10 inches off the waist over aproximatly 4 months with exercise. It is so easy I fail to see why it is not more popular, My skin looks better and I feel years younger and full of energy,

  • I just started TODAY! I used my cheap blender bought my fruits and veggies at Costco but as time goes by I will improve to a commercial blender and buy from my local Farmers Market or Organic Food store.

  • that is so amazing! I have been eating more veggies and fruits and i feel a lot better. I still eat "regular food" and i can tell when i do, i feel bogged down. I didn't get a juicer yet. Can anyone recommend one a decent priced juicer too me. Preferably under 100 dollars. I was looking in to the jack Lelain (sp) juicer. is that a good one?

  • Never have I commented but I have to say it feels by divine design that I found myself watching your videos. I am 27 year old mother of 3 and have been diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor. In all my research no one knows why people get tumors or cancer. So my research all leads me to food. I don't want them to cut me up if my body has what it takes to heal its self.   • When you lose fast, but don't have super nutrition, your skin gets less priority. On raw, you get mega doses of what you need for young skin.

  • hey man, very nice upload. I've seen some of your other videos and they are very informative for non raw fooders. You inspire people and spread the word about a great way to eat and live life. Anyways, I've tried raw for a week and it has been so extremely cleansing and cool. Don't know how much longer I can go but your videos have made this short experiment so much easier and so much easier. Keep going man and keep making the awesome vids!

  • A raw food diet can be a healthy alternative if you are smart about it. The reason so many people on this diet are losing so much weight is fruits and vegetables are about 95 % water. It's the illusion of eating. The worst thing that is killing so many people is inactivity. Most people have a job where they sit all day, they sit while they drive and get home and sit to watch tv, they sit and eat and then lay down to sleep.

  • That's awesome to hear of his weight loss :D I've been trying to integrate more raw foods in my diet. I've completely cut out my chip, pop, and MSG jerky habit like I used to eat in high school. Now I've been eating organic produce a LOT less red meat and I want to make my diet at least 80% raw now :D I can't eat any of that artificial crap anymore since it makes me feel sick when I do :p

  • ive started my juice fast today want to do at least 30 days and this video has inspired me, i done a green smoothie fast in november but i didnt do the key thing of resetting my eating when it got out of control and now still kept off the weight but i have lots more to lose and i find fasting an easier way for me to lose weight because i see the numbers drop everyday and it keeps me going.

  • I started to drink some green juices, i still eat some (but less) of the regular food, but i feel that the raw veggies and fruits just help me to feel better and improve health, maybe not as magically as life regenerator claims, but it is definitly an improvement, You wont live forever, but you will live longer and better.

It's rare to find asians going bald let alone one's as young as Steve. I've also noticed that quite a few men who've gone on this diet with not much hair on the videos to the right --->

    I would recommend a vitamix blender or something similar. Juicers don't give you the nutrients you would get if you used a blender. I've used juicers and I can tell you from experience that you'll get more bang for your buck if you invest in a good blender. Vitamix has a 7 year warranty. Good luck!

  • @truGEMini01 You don't need a juicer, just use a simple blender. I have been using a simple blander for two weeks now to blend fruits and vegies. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks!!!

  • @IdentityHero No, not necesserally. One thing you have to realize is that the body hold on fat to keep toxins in it. That's one of the reason why people can lose so much weight with the raw food diet/ juicing/cleasing or whatever you can do that detoxify your body.

    I've seen someone lose alot of weight quickly simply by removing meat and most animal product, replacing it with plant protein sources and adding the more greens he could.

  • So what am I doing wrong? Been eating nothing but fruits for past 3 weeks and still weigh the same :( 2 bananas and naked juice for breakfast then grapes for snack, bananas again for lunch and then apples.. Yet no weight loss...

    Give it 3 months rather than 3 weeks, some people react slower but belive me, you will come around. Just stick to it. But you should definitely eat lots of veggies too! And a few nuts and seeds. Not only fruit (though it's also good). Being raw is about variety just as with a regular diet. Good luck! Also, drink lots of water, if you're just slightly dehydrated, the body will actually store MORE water (holding on to weight), rather than ridding it when you put plenty in.

  • i cant afford organic foods they are twice the price i do try but have kids and find it hard to buy these things i have got an allotment now to grow some foods but its never enough due to weather and other problems but thanks for the advice i shall try and eat as much raw food as possible

  • Of all the juicing videos by dan the man, i never hear mentioned as to how much juice you should be drinking daily in order to lose weight. i came across some website where it says you should drink a gallon of green juice daily to lose weight.. is this true??

  • I am 3 weeks into a mostly raw diet....only raw juices during the day and mostly sprouts, sea greens and live foods for one meal a day. I'm feeling really great and now hoping my skin contracts...body is deflating fast! (I'm 53 and have about 40-50 lbs to lose...)

  • @eldrama2 No... You still need your protein... about a half a cup of nuts every other day should be fine... Or just take vitamins... Centrum works well.

  • Hi Dan, I've been watching your videos and went out and got a vita mix; I am juicing about a gallon of juice a day(mostly greens) and consuming some cooked foods; nuts and chocolates/sugars and not suprisingly I am gaining weight. Any suggestions on what I should do/not do in order to become healthy and lose weight? I so look forward to your comments.

I am now back up to 320 just by eating some sushi last week and going out to eat at a steak house once. It is not a joke, the results are truly amazing. My breathing is better, bathroom trips, sleeping habits, mode is a lot calmer, body stiffness is going away.... My body is healing, and I am glad I started 15 days ago. Which is was years ago

  • This is so cool. I released 100 pounds in my first four months of being raw and fasting. 3 years later... I'm 170 pounds lighter than when I began. Raw food + Fasting works!!! It's a lifestyle choice that I love!!!

  • @MOLLERBT21 Just eat as much raw fruits and vegetables as you can! The more fruits and vegetables you eat, the healthier you will be! I eat only organic fruits, vegetables and get protein from soaked nuts and seeds! I am very healthy from this way of eating...

  • @liferegenerator soaked nuts and seeds? what do you mean soaked? im currently eating some almonds, granted they are salted with sea salt, but i couldnt find any non salted ones at the store. what are your thoughts on store bought juices? and ill say now i always read ingrediants, i buy as pure of juice as i can find, no concentrate. i like to see blank juice pasturized, and thats it in the ingrediants. also, how about organic juice?

  • @MOLLERBT21 raw almonds soaked in water for 24 hours are alive! Roasted almond are dead and have NO vital life energy! In your situation just just want to focus on eating as much raw unroasted unpastuerized foods as you can! Fresh fruits and vegetables! FRESH RAW FOODS! GOOGLE IT! LEARN ABOUT RAW/LIVING FOODS! :D

  • @MOLLERBT21 Hi, I'm a biologist and a nutritionist. Ask yourself a question: How do you build a cow, or an elephant or a buffalo, etc? Lots of muscle there? Needed protein to build it? In their natural world what do they eat? Grass, greens, leaves? Your greens are the source of the amino acids of which the protein that builds these animals are made. We've been programed to believe we get the protein from eating animals. But they, and we, get the amino acids to build protein from greens!

  • @AlgernonSidney If you will ever notice that cows, elephants and buffalo are huge. That is because they have huge stomachs. The reason that they have such huge stomachs is they have to consume such large amounts of food inorder to get the protien they need. Grass and leaves have little protein. Beans and seeds are high protein. If you watch the docomentry "Food Matters" They tell you to get on a raw food diet and take vitamins. Not enough vitamins in raw food which is mostly water.

  • Hi Dan, i want to eat raw but for some reason am finding it very hard.i dont know where to start. please dan point me in the right direction. i would love to get rid of my asthma that i have has all my life. when i was 4 and 6 it almost killed me and last year came very close to dying from an asthma attack. (im only 18) i would love to be asthma free and not take any meds, and i think being raw would do that. thanks

  • @bladdan I saw a Dr. Doug Graham video on youtube (can't find it now) and he was saying that nuts and seeds are typically about 70% I think, probably not a great idea to do too many if you'd like to shed some kg's

  • @theneonfire deficieny disease? tell that to jack lalanne. He juices hardcore fruits and vegetables. he only eats egg whites as his source of protein. and eats fish once or twice a week on certain occassions. hes 95 and still works out 2 hours 7 days a week.

  • Just turning 47 and now 6' with a 36' waist. Five years ago it was 42'. I started by getting rid of my car and baught a good bicycle. Then I got of caffeine, then reduced my sugar intake and last, natural food...

    The results are amazing, I have so much energy, heal very fast, have an average health of a 25 year old.

  • @Bychance37 "tear up your stomach"?  Actually, no... Our bodies were meant to eat raw foods. Not sure what other mammal actually cooks their foods prior to eating but if you know of one, please do let me know... :o)

  • @kastnmagic Actually I asked the question because when I went to a food prep class. My stomach got gassy and upset. I was having to go to the bathroom more than usual. And that was just one 5 hour class. A friend told me to detox and that might help.

    I would prefer to eat raw food, I think it taste better, besides being better for me.

  • @Bychance37 You probably ate a poorly combined meal. Avoid combining sugar (fruit) and fat (nuts, avocado) and eat simple meals. And make sure to get enough calories from sweet fruit! :)

  • @mzimmerman12 there was a year or two when I could be considered a crater/pizza face. the juicing and eliminating most processed oil from my diet has helped. in the past 6 months I have only gotten 3-4 small zits and they went away in a day or so.

  • Hi everyone! I am very humbled and surprised to see so many posts!

    A few days after the interview I started working out 5x's a week, some times twice a day.

    since the vid I have lost about 10-12 lbs. and have gained a good amount of lean muscle.

    I cant believe that I was about 280lbs around this time this last summer. Raw fruits and veggies have been great! I have also added protein(seeds) and probiotics to my diet.

  • With regard to the comment on the skin issues and weight loss with raw, I have heard from several different sources the same thing as Dan's reply. The regeneration of the body includes the skin - our body's largest organ. I am hoping for the same kind of results after 2 children and yo-yoing as high as 60 lbs overweight. Thanks for the wonderful encouragement this video brings.

  • @GetBackJack123 when your body is used to eating certain things all the time, is really hard to change it right away. when eating too much nuts, is common to feel like that because nuts contains to much oils(good fats) and like everybody knows when you over do everything, you are going to expect consequenses, but every single thing has a different. so moderation is required. BTW nuts are super good for people until the point when you get allergies, then is not good for you anymore. later.
