its a hard drive problem in the zune. the saaame exact thing happened to me like 2 years ago and last year i took it to bestbuy to see what the geek squad could do. the people there told me that if nothing showed up on the computer when you plug it in, its a hard drive problem in the zune..i suggest you replace the battery or buy i new one ? :/ sorry about that it really sucks

Hey man, My kid brother and I have the exact same Zune models as each other. His was doing the same as yours. Just to test, I opened them up and switched batteries and his battery would charge on my Zune, but his Zune would still not recognize being plugged in. I'm thinking it's the actual plug "port" that might be messed up them. Where you plug the charger in. For now I just switch my fully charged battery with his when he needs a full charge.
@sk84fun9 I can't detect any heat difference when it has been plugged in overnight. I am going to wait until tomorrow night and unplug it from the wall charger. If it doesn't turn on I will keep it unplugged for a couple days then try again. After that I think I will send it to rapidrepair, its just a brick right now, no signs of life. don't know what to do. thanks for replying and the video, I still have hope it will start working again!
@sk84fun9 my zune got wet an after a few days of drying it had that same battery problem,it doesnt show it as charging when plugged in,as soon as unplug it turns off,the battery icon never shows charging,one of two things u need a new battery or as the other guy said on here its the plug port,cheers
@sk84fun9 I have the same problem. Did you use a USB cable with a PC/Xbox when you charged for a day or two, or did you use an AC wall charger to charge it for two days? I just wonder if it is really charging in my PC since it is not recognized.
@kerdic ok ssooo wat i think i found out is that if you keep it unplugged for a while like a day or two also, it might turn on. When it is plugged in does it get hot? and i am using a PC to charge.I think it turns off because of over heating

I have the same issue and I'm betting at some point you fried it with a static charge from your fingers. Thats what happen to mine from treadmilling.

sometimes switching the hold switch on and off then pressing the buttons does it for me.
