Thank you for posting this. I grew up there and haven't been back since 1997! It's amazing to see how little things have changed over the years! My only gripe is that you didn't include the rest of the journey!
i would gladly cut off my left arm to go back there for a year with unlimited spending money, i might cut off a finger if they didnt give me unlimited cash XD
this video is not very good, becasue the most interesting moment is in the end of this trip, you can found a lot of beautifull sights after you pass the tunnel under moutain
I remember when I was a kid in Hong Kong the buses only have sliding metal gate door and you hand can easily caught in it when the bus conductor slam close the door. They have bus conductor selling bus tickets in those days.Only 10 cents HK dollar for a one way ride for me.
boohoo not fair. I live in Singapore all my life but i've always wanted to go over to HK. WE are like twin brothers. Once under the colonial rule, majority chinese, and both a ports town
LOL and quite true, flagship21. It was kind of an intentionally surrealistic choice. Although for young backpackers passing through (which I wasn't), it might be a bit closer to spot on. Cheers.
Thanks for this vid! I've been interested in HK for some time. :) By the way, those who want to see cool pics of Hong Kong, look in this gallery globalphotos org / hongkong htm the street views are cool!
I really want to have a bus trip now after watching this video. This is great. It reminds me some memory to have a comfortable ride besides for working only. feel good~!
Next week thursday 28e of june... me are heading towards Hong Kong(2weeks) and korea(1week)^^! If i have some interesting video footage, i will air it in youtube and share it with u guys.
Ahh, well thanks anyway. It's so hard to find any pictures or footage from there, but it would totally bring back great memories to see it all. I can't wait to go back there someday...
I am going to DongGuan for 3 weeks and then my last week in China we are going to spend a week in Hong Kong...It looks totally awesome, I can't wait to go, its my first time traveling internationally
Definitely the right order for that: Mainland China, then Hong Kong. If you do HK first, you'll spend those last two weeks reminiscing about restaurants in Kowloon and shopping in Central and etc. With HK last, it'll feel like a reward. ;-)
I really enjoyed your video ... if you go to Hong Kong again, try taking the scenic route from Central or Wanchai way through Repulse Bay ... it is really beautiful and so high up in places that the views across are breathtaking. It can be a little scary because the road is so close to the cliffside. I want to go again ... homesick for HK ... lived there a long long long time ago as a student/backpacker. Went back last year ... what a change!
Cheers.... We get back there every few years, and I've taken the route you mention by car before. Buses seem better--better view from up there on the second deck.
Absolutely ... do that route I mentioned by bus from the second deck ... you'll love it. You lose most of the view/experience going by car. We take the bus from Central so that you are assured of a spot on the top deck ... and at the front. Hope you get around to making some more videos.
We arrived, but I wasn't able to film non-stop from start to end. I was with my wife and our two pre-schoolers and sometimes had to put the camera down to attend to a youngster.
LOL. No, I was holding the camera down firm on the flat surface in front of the seat there so it wouldn't move much. At around 5:53 you can see where we hit a rough spot and I had to get a better grip on it.
I understand that. I had this experience, most of the times, when you ride on a bus or tram or mini bus, there is always people talking behind your ears. Please go to my video file to see some of my video clips. good day.
The buses stop just inches from each other--looks even scarier in person than in the video--but after a few stops you get used to it.
Most of the original background sound consists of my family's conversation...which might or might not be interesting to a larger audience...but I'd rather leave it private in either case. :-) Cheers....
your video clip is good, no shaky shaky. Was it a bit scary when the bus stops behind another bus? I rather to have no background music, use the original background sound. good.
i will be going there soon love HK!

I assume this is NWFB route numb 63, from North Point Ferry to Stanley. Runs right past my house (which is on the right) at 1:45.

Nothing from that side of the island, unfortunately. I think I've only been over that way once anyway, well before I had even a digital camera.

Really nice video, has been six years since I was in Hong Kong. Reminds me of what it was like. Thanks! :)

If I made a montage walking along the crowded sidewalks, that would probably make a more complete "HK Multimedia Experience," I suppose.
