  • The spanish travelled all over the pacific over 200 years before cook yet the english and french saw fit to change the names of many places that had already been named by spanish who were there way before them (obviously not including the natives). In our history lessons in Australia they seem to omit the fact that the spanish did way more than the english did in this part of the world, and over 200 years before. Jealosuy I guess

  • People in Vanuatu speak Bislama as their national language as well as English, French and over 300 local language. Espiritu Santo was named by Portuguese navigator Pedro Fernanded de Queiros who was working for Spanish in 1606. He thought Santo was part of Australia (La Austrialia del Espiritu Santo) ha ha ha ha ha.

  • tht loooks amazing! what language do they speak in vanuatu ? seems like theres a spanish influence

  • Investigations of a Jacques Custeau's expedition confirmed that the Great Blue Hole has emerged as a typical formation of caustic lime, responsible for the amazing bluish tint...

  • Thanks for this. This blue hole is Freshwater. We have about 6 or more freshwater Blue Hole in Santo as well as underwater caves. Also, lime stone, must be something to do with the colour.
