This is truly the best video of the Griffon there is! Thank you for doing this! Now I know I better be preapred for a possability of peeing my pants on that drop!
@hairspraygirl12 - Thank you. The drop is a good one, but I wouldn't be afraid of it. It's pure bliss once the train leaves the chain that is holding you at the top.
The best Griffon video that I ever found! Congrats for you, you have a very good camera and make some great shots! *__* You could have explored more of the possible angles but....ultimately...a very good video!
I've been on SheiKra I don't know how many times... it's kind of similar though. Griffon's only 5ft taller, it holds 30 instead of 24 people per train, it has a second loop, and the layouts a bit different.
I think the plot behind the holding of the drop is in resemblance to the Griffon waiting for the right moment to attack his prey & then dives right down and snatches him up :) The water break probably is similar to when he flies over the water and his claws are gliding across it.
@Mrjack45241 - Yep. B&M do refer the water spray sections as a "water-brake." While it does provide something cool to look at, it does slow the train ever so slightly.
@MrTechlover100 - While the front provides one hell of a view, the back row is no joke either as you can really feel the pull of the rest of the train on the first drop. Also, I am not sure if many people notiice but on the back of rows one and two are g-force measuring tools which you can watch while riding to show you where the most positive and negative gs come into play. It's a cool idea.
@SeanFlaharty Oh i have never noticed that. I really just prefer the front on the side or right in the middle. While i do feel that pull in the back i still like the front better :)
@MrTechlover100 - I love the front seats as well. The litle g-meter things are two clear tubes, mounted vertically in the backs of rows one and two, which have a rubber band and a small weight. Anytime the riders feel positive gs the weight drops down. When the train provides negative gs, the weight travels to the top of the tube. It's neat to watch. I am not sure if they are still mounted on the ride or not as I haven't ridden this in a year. I need to get back to VA.
@0511LAMBO@0511LAMBO - Thanks. I stood over by the splash area and walked over as close as I could to the first drop and turned around. I took the shot with a slight zoom while looking through the fence. If you pause the video at 2:19 you can see the fence I am talking about.
@Ganbala - Very similar although this version is taller and has an extra inversion. Also, Griffon's rows hold ten riders each. Both are amazing rides that I love to ride when I get the chance to do so.
i personally think that this video is a lot better than any onride view of a rollercoaster. i have not been on this coaster yet. the last time i went to busch gardens europe was back in like 2003 way before they opened this. i have been on sheikra though

That first drop looks scary! I'd hate to be in the first seat. XD

If you think about it, all those pond that the roller coaster sprays up actually slows the coaster down in a Eco-friendly way which is cool.

gotitdone101110119 6 months ago
@gotitdone101110119 - Are you sure you aren't confusing this with Sheikra in Tampa? The vehicles for that ride are 8 seats across.
Griffon still has 10 across seating unless the park closed the ride mid-summer, got new trains and made some other timely modifications. =:^)

SeanFlaharty 2 years ago
This looks very similar to Sheikra. What are the differences?
SpriggZ 2 years ago
1. The trains seat 10 across instead of 8
2. The ride is 5 feet taller than Sheikra
3. The ride has two inversions instead of one.
4. The ride features small airtime hills.
5. It was the first Floorless Dive Machine
