I admit that Kris is a great singer. He's kind of amazing, but I know a lot of people who can do what he does. Adam is unique, or rare at least. In my opinion, Adam deserves to win the show, because his vocal skills are better then Kris's. But i'm not telling Kris is a bad singer, i like him a lot too.

Adam's style was rock theatrics, and then standard singing that was somewhat theatrical. How many ppl dislike the theatre. Honestly Kris' style wasn't mainstream either. How often does folksy music top the charts?!? Allison had a commercial pop rock voice and that's why she was signed upon finishing 4th. Adam and Allison were supposed to go 1 and 2.  If Kris had wound up 3rd or 4th, he would not have been signed by 19.

Ps.. I LOVE the theater, used to love musical theater when stories meant more and there was more than one song that was memorable. I think it's near impossible to compare Adam and Kris. The two are completely different artists. I don't really think one is a better singer than the other. They're both brilliant artists in their own genres. You can't say that Adam is better because he can hit higher notes and Kris isn't any better because he plays the guitar and has a sweet voice. They both deserved to win AI and it merely came down to taste in music. Winner or no, they're both going to have [should have] lasting careers.

lots of people won't be watching the next season of AI. The show loses millions of viewers each season. The reason the show keeps going is a testament to how many millions have been watching the show over the years. But I expect extra attrition this year with Paula Abdul leaving. I also think ppl begin to tire of a singing competition in which the winner is rarely the most talented one.  Adam clearly should have beat Kris. Anyone who says otherwise is simply biased towards their fav.
