Hey nice ride man, i'm just finishing up bobbin a 78 xs750 and i'm lookin for the wider rear tire to match up with the 18" rims and what you got looks perfect, could you help me out with the measurements of that tire? appreciate it.
How were you able to keep the straight pipes without having it backfire when you let off the gas? Did you use a certain method to get some backpressure back or did you re-jet it or something else perhaps?
i love it man.... i just bought a 1977 xs 650 and im going to bob it out this winter so she be ready come spring... I live in canada so i can't hardtail it without having insane insurance thats why i especially like yours and how you kept the frame pretty much stock
When you cut that back off did you have to make new holes for the springs cause it looks like you cut off a lot. I'm not sure what to do with that section yet. Well I liked your bike its sweet looking.
Yes I cut off more than the ussual. Then I weleded on a small piece that relocated the shock mount up and forward about 1.5". Thanks for the response.
Wanted to say its looking good. Im starting a 78 xs 400 next week. Cant wait to start cuting stuff off it. I like your handle bars i to wanted to go with a "Z" bars. But im having trouble finding them anywhere for a decent price an the style i want. O well i guess this is half the fun. Pipes sound good to. Keep posting videos man i wanta see it

This comment has received too many negative votes show
the bike was obvioulsy warmed up before this, no way a 1980 would fire up this fast...

I don,t see why it wouldn't start right up and idle,i have a few Triumph 650,s and 750,s from 62 to 81 which would do it any day.

I've got another quick question for you were did you get those pipes from?
aberfitch82 3 years ago
They are the stock headers, cut down and I welded an exhaust reducer on from AdvancedAuto. Then wrapped with header wrap.
