Ok i got it after some reach, the gharana Qawal Bache is associated with the great tanras khan who also trained the elders of patiala gharana so both ghranas share similarities :)
I think faheem is the only one in the younger lot who just does not impress you with vocal gymnastic but aslo has a lot of soul in his voice, which classical music is all about. i read about him that he is a disciple of kirana and qawal bache gharana yet i can listen to some of patiala gharana in his singing too
Faheem Mazhar was one of the attractions we most looked forward to at the APMC festival. I have been overwhelmed by his voice eversince I first heard him in 1993/1994... PLEASE upload more of his songs. Pakistan lost a rare talent but I sure hope he is enthralling audiences in toronto etc & inspiring more people to learn or listen to classical music. Guys, Toronto audiance is spell bound. So called Ustad's are shocked that where did this singer named Faheem Mazhar came from? I heard him with Tari Khansahib a classical item of 11 beats "Classiic Show" When he came to toronto three years ago since then i have been arranging his concerts and now we are founding an art institute for Ustad Faheem Mazhar in Toronto.True ambaasador of Classical music who can perform Khayaal,Thumri,Dadra,Kaafi,Ghazal,geet,kajri,Folk,at its best.
Faheem recently enthralled the Toronto audience with his solo performance spellbinding his audience and receiving a much-deserved standing ovation. One hopes to get a video recording of that soon so that we can add to his youtube repertoire.
Art is at a loss if craft is not coupled with passion. Faheem's choice of bandishes and sufi poetry depicts his thoughtful selection and search for unique material.
PS: those in UK do look up 'DAY BREAK' by Faheem in Nitin Sawhney's LONDON UNDERSOUND.
I heard Faheem Mazhar in Lahore at the APMC a few years ago and was blown away. We met him again at Hayat sahab's house for dinner, and afterwards he obliged us by giving an impromptu performance of his own Kajri composition on the APMC office's harmonium! It was truly an unforgettable experience and I've been longing to hear him again. Unfortunately his other affairs overseas have kept him busy and we haven't heard from him the past few years. Can't wait for him to perform in Lahore again!
Faheem did a ghazal program on PTV. He sung there best ghazals. Since then i become great fan of him. But i havent heard anything more of him. Please share his more work, or atleast share the same meri pasad program here. Where is Faheem mazhar now? Why cant we listen to his more ghazals?
I just had the honour of giving Sangat on Tabla with Faheem Bahi in Toronto....To say the least...I was very intimidated by him, but as amazing as a singer he is, He is an amazing person. Down to earth...He made me feel very confortable. He is truely blessed.

Faheem Mazhar is a contemporary classical singer from a non-musical family background. He is affiliated with and a representative of the Qawwal Bacche and Kirana Gharanas'. A very talented singer.
