It's called "Martial Ancestor" on 2nd G and I have had it forever. I've got several videos up of me using it. The 'Related Videos' tab has one of me fighting the Shen Gaoren and I use it on there, it's one of my more popular videos.
Well I'm HR9, so I'm used to them. Got like 150 Rathians under my belt from MHF2 & 2nd G, probably about 30 or so on the first game as well. Plus I kept her held down with flashes in this one. Playing it long enough you get used to the timing and know when they are going to snap out of it. It's why I can throw bombs before they come out & it flashes them the second the first wears off.
It's a perk of the bowgun. Many of the higher level bowguns have perks, like being able to rapid shot a certain bullet type. The type and number of shots varies. Look at the bowgun descriptions to see which ones do which perks.

To be honest, I never played around with different cats too much. I had a main bomber cat I used 99% of the time, but he would bomb regardless of if I was around or not. Often times leading me to get hurt, get killed by the monster or on a few occasions where he killed me himself with bombs. I tried some support cats but they didn't flute or trap often. So kept using either bomber or not bring one at all. However, it was due to their temperament, not that the game didn't offer good cats.
Your cat probably doesn't have LRG bomb & bomber skill like mine does. I don't remember how much the small ones do, but the large ones can definitely kill you.

It depends on their temperament. Some cats are just good with people or fight a lot or are just lazy. So you have to try a lot of different cats to see which one works best for you.
If I'm not mistaken, unless it is a Gold or Silver Rath/Ian, the weakness is always the head. Gold and Silver's weakness is the wings. However, with hammer it is always the head. I think with bowgun it is always the head as well but I can't remember completely, sorry.
i'm quite new w/ this game and i'm currently using LS (DS/Lance/GL are overshadowed by LS, and GS is strong but annoying to use - SS sucks, Hammer/& the other are even more annoying than GS)

Light Bowgun is easy to adapt to if you are already good at bow. I'm a master at bow so it wasn't hard for me to pick up bowgun. However, other people in my guild can't use bowgun well and many of my viewers say they have problems with them.
Once you get some good bowguns with things like rapidfire of certain shots, they are really good at pwning Wyverns if you get used to dodging. I'd say try a few out and see what you think.
Similar things have happened. My cat once killed my Akantor with a SMALL Barrel Bomb after I did all the hard work. A cat killed me about 3 times by running straight into me with a large bomb. And Inya's cat kills his Hypnoc on his video after blowing him back with a bomb then running in to take out the Hypnoc himself, lol

Any tips on HR 6 gathering hall quests? Just got promoted to HR 6 and mostly all of the quest i completed alone. Now the monsters gets harder and harder. I think i need some tips. hehe
No overall tips. Any individual monsters I may be able to help with. As far as just questing, it is just a matter of getting used to the monsters enough that you can survive long enough to kill them. And kill enough to make weapons and armor out of them, then they are pretty much on the same level as the low rank ones.
Ya Dragonbow earth is good but the item req to ungrade it quite difficult to get. And is the dual blades called insector slicer good? It mostly concentrate on sharpness instead of dmg. So the dmg is arnd 200+ but the sharpness already white or purple already.
Yeah, I think for the final form you need some Lao Shan Long Divine Plates or something. And I made insect slicer but I'm more of an elemental fan over sharpness or raw damage so I never use them.
I keep fishing around but cant seems to get speartuna... even in farm. hey now i've got 3 choices of bow. Dragonhead Harp, Dragonbow Halo,Earth. Which 1 is better? Btw, how do you unlock felyne fighter clothings?
Halo is thunder, right? Harp is water and Earth is dragon. I like Dragonbow Earth the most. It turns to Mountain and finally Meteor which is my favorite bow.

You get speartuna from just fishing. I get them all the time. More than anything if I remember correctly. You can get them in the Plesioth cave area in the jungle and I'm sure you can get them from fishing on your farm. And thanks for the subscription.
Does anyone know whats the best G rank Bowgun or Heavy Bowgun? Im looking for one that can shoot all bullet types but not necesarily lvl3's. also if said weapon had a moderate to fast reload rate. can anyone help me?
Martial Ancestor that I am using in this clip is my favorite light bowgun. It can shoot pretty much everything except pellet and dragon shots. Though some of the status things like sleep, poison and para are only level 1.
Well, no HBG rapids anything, period. But they can have shields attached to them for auto-guard. They have higher attack power as well. I don't really have many but a good one would be the Lao Tzar Canon (or something like that) it shoots all elemental types and many shots but is pretty hard to make.
Hmm, I just realized that I was using the Flame Wrath in this clip and not Martial Ancestor. Flame Wrath can shoot many types and level 2 of the status. But it can't rapid as many types as the Martial Ancestor.
I use Corpse Blades/Rippers on the Blangonga all the time. I find that to be best suited for the job. Don't remember what the urgent quest is you speak of.
Like whqa says, or you could trade a Diablos Tail to the Jungle elder. It's the more rare item but he gives them to you. You might want to take 3 tails and then save before going to see him, then trade them and if he doesn't give it, don't save and try again.

Well, that's fine. The game is amazing and deserves some praise. It has a rather steep learning curve and it happens a few times, but if you can get over those hurdles, the game rewards you. I can't believe I once gave up on the first game when I couldn't beat Kut-Ku. Glad my friends suggested I try GS instead of SnS on him. I originally had GS but sucked on the dromes so I switched to SnS. When the dromes were done I tried Kut but SnS damage sucks at that level.
Ah, thinking back to the 1st Monster Hunter, it seems to go quite a way back... I remember I first played the game, I didn't like being a noob, I just hate wearing suck armor. As time passes, I got better and I got addicted. Also, some monsters look damn cool! That's why I liked the MH series. If I had a Wii, I'll buy the 3rd one too lol
Yeah, the LOOK of Monster Hunter is something I don't see in other games. They put a lot of thought into their monsters and they aren't things you see on other games. A giant fish wyvern? A super saiyajin monkey? Lol.
The good part about is that they actually grouped monsters into specific groups like Herbivores, Wyverns, Dragons, etc... Like what the scientist do to the animal world. It feels like you're in a real-life monster world!
Exactly. I especially like how they do it on Tri. You can use the Wiimote to grab a monster and drag their icon into your database and it gives info. So you have a reason to go explore everywhere to get all the monster info.

Well the game is still in development so it's not out to buy yet. But yeah, there's new attributes. The monsters now have stamina of their own and have to eat other monsters to gain it back, rumor has it.
I took this from a review - now monsters have a higher AI and they will observe the hunter's attack patterns and act accordingly to avoid attacks, even dodging traps.
Also, I heard that there's this new bird wyvern that has a hunting horn on its own. I would like to see it fight. From the trailer, that bird wyvern played a song that buffed a Rathian. It works like a HH. Huntinghorn vs Huntinghorn, how cool is that? You're buffing ur frens and the bird wyvern's buffing the other wyvern. lol

Yes, of course. They have almost the same powers as hammers, having 1000+ attack power AND be able to support themselves using the music. But it's hard to memorise all the note combinations...
The only notes I know are purple red red which is Attack Up [Hi] and Purple purple which is speed up.
btw, me and my friend were arguing how to pronouce 'Akantor'. You say it "Ay-ken-tore" or "Arh-karn-ter"? Weird right? But we had no ending to our argument DX
Akuma is the original name. In Japanese that is "Ahkoo-ma", Akantor is what we say over here but it was taken from Akuma so it should be "Ahcan-tore". That's what it should be linguistically, but English doesn't follow the rules that other languages do so it may be pronounced differently in English. Many other languages have ONE way of saying a word.
Okay, so there was no ending to our argument. He says his type of 'Akantor' and I'll say my type. lol it goes the same for every other monster like Rathalos, Rathian, Tigrex, Khezu, etc, etc. There is no real specific way to pronounce them.

BSR you would have to get from a torrent if you want the full version. The other two you should be able to get from any regular PSP site like maybe psp-hacks. I haven't checked their site so I'm not sure. I got mine by doing google searches.
BSR and Remote Joy are both PC applications. Your PSP only uses IRShell. IRshell sends it to Remote Joy through USB and BSR (or any screen recorder program like Camtasia) will record what Remote Joy shows. As far as putting it on my PSP, I have a Memory Stick adapter that came with my sandisk I just plug into my laptop, it's faster than USB.
Whenever you hear us talking, we are actually face-to-face in the same room playing ad-hoc. Usually at a restaurant like McDonalds, a pizza parlor or a coffee shop. Any place that lets you sit around and use their electricity after buying something, lol.
Yeah, it rapids pierce level 1 and Flame shots. The armor I have gives me pierce up, rapid fire, whatever the skill is that makes the mix rate the highest each time and it adds crag shot to any gun as well.
Correction to the above post, it gives me 'Speed Fire' not rapid fire. The gun itself can rapid. And I haven't used a bowgun on Fatalis since the first game unless I tried to beat White Fatalis with it back before I knew how to kill him.
Well I wanted to try it out to see how it would be like. Wanted to be original instead of the nine thousand other videos of people using hammers on them.
Btw, what do you think of the music? I found this band last night and I CANNOT get them out of my head. One of the best sounding bands I've heard in recent years, IMO. If you don't like them let me know though.

Yeah, I figured. That's what most people like to start out with. They are both different than the first game. You couldn't charge the GS on the first game. And the LS was nothing but a GS that looked like a LS, no combos like on this game.
Well I suggest becoming a member of the Skies of Croda forum. They have a tutorial on how to convert it that I could never get right. They also offer a conversion service at times. Or they did when I first joined. But it's a great site and I'd suggest you join even if they can't convert anything.

This was a regular quest, you didn't have to download it. And recording is too complicated to explain. Just look up a remote joy tutorial on youtube.

Yeah, it dies constantly. But it has unlimited respawns. It just takes longer to come back after each time.

I have a bowgun that rapidshots 5 pierce for every 1. And I have armor that let's me shoot any ammo type that isn't rapid till I run out.

You get speartuna from just fishing. I get them all the time. More than anything if I remember correctly. You can get them in the Plesioth cave area in the jungle and I'm sure you can get them from fishing on your farm. And thanks for the subscription.

Does anyone know whats the best G rank Bowgun or Heavy Bowgun? Im looking for one that can shoot all bullet types but not necesarily lvl3's. also if said weapon had a moderate to fast reload rate. can anyone help me?

Martial Ancestor that I am using in this clip is my favorite light bowgun. It can shoot pretty much everything except pellet and dragon shots. Though some of the status things like sleep, poison and para are only level 1.

Well, no HBG rapids anything, period. But they can have shields attached to them for auto-guard. They have higher attack power as well. I don't really have many but a good one would be the Lao Tzar Canon (or something like that) it shoots all elemental types and many shots but is pretty hard to make.

Hmm, I just realized that I was using the Flame Wrath in this clip and not Martial Ancestor. Flame Wrath can shoot many types and level 2 of the status. But it can't rapid as many types as the Martial Ancestor.

I use Corpse Blades/Rippers on the Blangonga all the time. I find that to be best suited for the job. Don't remember what the urgent quest is you speak of.

Like whqa says, or you could trade a Diablos Tail to the Jungle elder. It's the more rare item but he gives them to you. You might want to take 3 tails and then save before going to see him, then trade them and if he doesn't give it, don't save and try again.

Well, that's fine. The game is amazing and deserves some praise. It has a rather steep learning curve and it happens a few times, but if you can get over those hurdles, the game rewards you. I can't believe I once gave up on the first game when I couldn't beat Kut-Ku. Glad my friends suggested I try GS instead of SnS on him. I originally had GS but sucked on the dromes so I switched to SnS. When the dromes were done I tried Kut but SnS damage sucks at that level.

Ah, thinking back to the 1st Monster Hunter, it seems to go quite a way back... I remember I first played the game, I didn't like being a noob, I just hate wearing suck armor. As time passes, I got better and I got addicted. Also, some monsters look damn cool! That's why I liked the MH series. If I had a Wii, I'll buy the 3rd one too lol

Yeah, the LOOK of Monster Hunter is something I don't see in other games. They put a lot of thought into their monsters and they aren't things you see on other games. A giant fish wyvern? A super saiyajin monkey? Lol.

The good part about is that they actually grouped monsters into specific groups like Herbivores, Wyverns, Dragons, etc... Like what the scientist do to the animal world. It feels like you're in a real-life monster world!

Exactly. I especially like how they do it on Tri. You can use the Wiimote to grab a monster and drag their icon into your database and it gives info. So you have a reason to go explore everywhere to get all the monster info.

Well the game is still in development so it's not out to buy yet. But yeah, there's new attributes. The monsters now have stamina of their own and have to eat other monsters to gain it back, rumor has it.

I took this from a review - now monsters have a higher AI and they will observe the hunter's attack patterns and act accordingly to avoid attacks, even dodging traps.
Also, I heard that there's this new bird wyvern that has a hunting horn on its own. I would like to see it fight. From the trailer, that bird wyvern played a song that buffed a Rathian. It works like a HH. Huntinghorn vs Huntinghorn, how cool is that? You're buffing ur frens and the bird wyvern's buffing the other wyvern. lol

lol he makes Attack Up [Hi] and Defense Up [Hi] and Movement Speed Up while Rathian is in Rage Mode then it's hard to fight. If monsters DO have their own stamina, then he will also do the Maga Juice effect. lol he sounds more like an annoying bird than a real boss

The only notes I know are purple red red which is Attack Up [Hi] and Purple purple which is speed up.
btw, me and my friend were arguing how to pronouce 'Akantor'. You say it "Ay-ken-tore" or "Arh-karn-ter"? Weird right? But we had no ending to our argument DX

Akuma is the original name. In Japanese that is "Ahkoo-ma", Akantor is what we say over here but it was taken from Akuma so it should be "Ahcan-tore". That's what it should be linguistically, but English doesn't follow the rules that other languages do so it may be pronounced differently in English. Many other languages have ONE way of saying a word.

BSR you would have to get from a torrent if you want the full version. The other two you should be able to get from any regular PSP site like maybe psp-hacks. I haven't checked their site so I'm not sure. I got mine by doing google searches.

BSR and Remote Joy are both PC applications. Your PSP only uses IRShell. IRshell sends it to Remote Joy through USB and BSR (or any screen recorder program like Camtasia) will record what Remote Joy shows. As far as putting it on my PSP, I have a Memory Stick adapter that came with my sandisk I just plug into my laptop, it's faster than USB.

Whenever you hear us talking, we are actually face-to-face in the same room playing ad-hoc. Usually at a restaurant like McDonalds, a pizza parlor or a coffee shop. Any place that lets you sit around and use their electricity after buying something, lol.

Yeah, it rapids pierce level 1 and Flame shots. The armor I have gives me pierce up, rapid fire, whatever the skill is that makes the mix rate the highest each time and it adds crag shot to any gun as well.

Correction to the above post, it gives me 'Speed Fire' not rapid fire. The gun itself can rapid. And I haven't used a bowgun on Fatalis since the first game unless I tried to beat White Fatalis with it back before I knew how to kill him.

Yeah, I figured. That's what most people like to start out with. They are both different than the first game. You couldn't charge the GS on the first game. And the LS was nothing but a GS that looked like a LS, no combos like on this game.

Well I suggest becoming a member of the Skies of Croda forum. They have a tutorial on how to convert it that I could never get right. They also offer a conversion service at times. Or they did when I first joined. But it's a great site and I'd suggest you join even if they can't convert anything.
