Wanna learn about Thorpey then read his two biographys he wrote, they are awesome reading with some great tales of other bands like Acca Dacca, ones called,Most people i know, cant think of the other right now,,but check em out,,,Pete
Why in the hall wasn't this released in the rest of the world? It's crazy we should have to wait this long to hear such a classic tune. This guy coulda been an international star.
He didn't make it internationally. Closest he got with international success was with the 1979 album 'Children Of The Sun' which did well on the US album charts. Most serious and long-time American rock listeners may only be able to recognise Billy for that album alone.
In the UK, he had even less luck. 'Most People I Know' got a lot of airplay in England, but unfortunately the single was not available in any record stores in the UK; thus the song not making it on the UK charts.
yeah, i am a bit rough when it comes to billy's US stay... i know he was busy in the industry, but nothing came forefront as far as mainstream success in the US is concerned...
'Children Of The Sun' is Billy's signature work int he States... it should have been most people I know, but sadly, it was the 'art-space-rock' album of '79 that did it for him.
Read Thorpies' book and although it is terrible that he has passed on he certainly fitted a lot into his life. He lived the life of a man three times his age.RIP Billy
To this very day radio stations in Australia will play this song at the start of every summer....summer is not summer for me until I have heard the song on the radio ! Onya Thorpie

When I was in my 20's I had a made love affair with a women who was early 40's for about 12months.
Was awesome fun as you can imagine.
Reason I am mentioning this is the fact that she was Billys lover for a while in the late 70's.
There you go....
