To anyone who said Cities XL sucks. No it does not. It is no simcity 4 I'll give it that. But it is still amazing. It makes you plan things, have a budget, think before you build. It has VERY NICE graphics! I myself have put simcity 4 music in it and it is amazing, even more amazing.  Cities XL does bring you back when you play it, you know why everbody like the simcity series? The soundtrack. The soundtrack makes the game :)

don't buy the game!!!!! i played it 10 times and it is REALLY boring!! not joking!! and also once you plop houses, they don't change from ranches to skyscrapers. and that you don't feel "accomplished" about your city. like in sim city 4, your city can change from a small farmtown to a gigantic metropolis! that's not what Cities XL is like.

But i think this has that method of road building, and the typical grid based building too.

My biggest beef with the Sim City games is that you can only make roads horizontally, diagonally, and vertically with no variation, even with modds.

Too right, when that steaming pile of crap they call societies came out I thought my virtual city building days were over. This has saved me! I can't wait to get this. The way in which you can lay roads out looks amazing. It is one thing I thought sim city lacked, with this it looks like you can give your city extra characture. I hope this can be modded, just like SC4
