  • i was amazed when i saw this in the museum for the first time. This is great

  • Den er så dejlig at se på :)

Jeg har været oppe ved den mange gange, den er smukt lavet.

  • I work at the museum where this stone is displayed...Kulturhistorisk Museum, Randers. Trust me when I say, it looks EXACTLY that way in real life or even better. The people who achieved this for the museum deserve -all- the credit they can get. It's a remarkable thing!

  • これはすばらしい!

    日本にも巡回展しにこないかな・・・

  • That is AWESOME!!

  • Neat.

  • By Thor, this is amazing! I want a runestone when I die.

  • only if all museums were like this....

  • This simply spectacular. I wish more exhibits in the States would have this level of interactivity. It really gives you a connection to an other wise inanimate artifact. Great work.

  • It says "Åne erected this stone for his son Eskil, who found death with Thore in Øresund".

  • Thanks :)

  • Can anyone give an english translation of the runes?

I assume it's something like "In memory of.."

  • The Runic transcription would be: "oni : risþ : stin : þansi : aft : o¶skl : sun : sin : ias : tauþr ¶ uarþ : maþ : þuri : i : ura:¶:suti :"

The English Translation would be: "Áni raised this stone in memory of Áskell, his son, who died with Þórir in The Sound."

  • "The sound" in question being specifically Øresund, Sweden, as mentioned by the museum in the video...
