@HoGraz Fuck HI-FI, only fags dabble in that shit. It's the music that counts, not how it's presented. Are you saying Bob Wills or Jimmie Rodgers shouldn't have made any records because there weren't any HI-FI systems to play 'em on back in the day? Locate your CAPS key for future reference, then piss off.
Admit it fellas. Many of us have seen that "falling out of love look" in our women's eyes, right? Conway is the fourth greatest country singer ever - behind George, Hank Sr. and Merle.
what's this stuff they are calling country music, that you hear on the radio today? bring back Conway, Elvis, Merle, George, Waylon, Johnny and all the other good old boys who know what country music is all about.....
@kenogirl2009 I agree with you.. Conway knew what REAL country was and he was right on time with it..Im 46 yrs old and have listened to conway since i was 16. Cream of the crop! Country Gold.
we cant help it in our genes. guys are pack animals. but a man has to lose something he really needs to understand what he lost and to make a change inside his self.
seen conway in a little town called ganesville ga back when i was a little girl tickets costs 5 bucks can u belive that and his drummer was called porkchop oh my i sure do miss him!!!!!
Quintisential moments are memories of something so moving & profound we never forget where we were. I was driving to work in the pre-dawn darkness on a narrow county road when the radio told me Conway was gone. I was devastated. I called one of my best friends a while after & we were talking about Conway. She told me there were people making fun of his death, the dirty dastards. I'd been so sad, I hadn't noticed. It's wrong to mock the departed & more so when their death leaves the world darker.
love this song. Ol' Conway could sure do "stone" country when he chose. Would love to have seen him live but I missed out. 26 here, but my daddy was a WW2 vet and life long C&W fan who met CT in Oklahoma City in 1969. Said he was a swell guy. God Bless Him. RIP Conway
I was blessed to have a father that loved country music, his favorite being a man named Herold Jenkins.I'm not a country fan as much as a music fan, I love Rod Stewart, Air Supply, and Pink Floyd as well as Conway. Conway Twitty is right there, amoungst the giants. My father died the same year as Conway - 1993. We have an obligation to keep Conway's music alive. Radio and the country video stations have forsaken him. I love Conway, I will do my best to make sure he is never forgotten! Will you?
We do have an obligation to his music and memory alive!!! I guarantee that I do my part--almost daily!!!
Also, let's not leave out, nor forget, all of the othe 'giants' of our music industry!!! (I am not taking away from Conway by making this last statement--please don't think that!!!)
Conway could sing pop with the best of them and sound fabulous doing it. Slow Hand, The Rose, etc. are great and I'm not taking anything away from those songs. That being said, he was golden at true country with the fiddles and steel guitar lamenting in a ballad.
Country music, isn't country music today. I miss these songs.

First time I ever heard this song was in Wyoming in a little diner outside of Laramie.
I had just broken up with my GF and I left Colorado to just start driving all over the country.
Damn, that was such an emotional summer.
