  • me valio un carajo

  • Dude, Thanks so much! So much cheaper that buying an Electronic drum kit!!!! can you also record the drum tracks while playing them?

  • you can use your keyboard as midi in every programme, i know it because i own ableton, reason, fl studio and cubas

  • but I have a wii for rock band so can I still do this?

  • i cant seem to play my sounds at the same time in FL Studio. Help me! D:

  • how do you set keyboard typing keys, like which key goes to what sound

  • this is funny as hell good one you are smart good job

  • Awesome speaking man :D

  • does it record it though? cuz that's what i want, cuz im no good at creating the beats on piano roll or on the other thing so i wondered if i can use this to record the beat with the right timings and stuff.

  • @kylescousins If you're still curious FL Studio has a record button for you. You'll probably have to fix it a bit if you have poor rhythm.

  • You sound JUST LIKE Ralphie May. /watch?v=i9mytOPDeeE

  • You sound like Woody Harrelson

  • Hey Man, I Wanted To Copy All My FL Studio Files Via Flashdrive And Run It On PS3!! I Searched ''How To'' And This Video Came Up. Do You Know If Thats Possible? If So, Is It As Easy As Just Copy And Paste Files Then Run On The PS3?

  • @ItsYourBoyo7 FL Studio files? You mean the .flp s? Thats impossible entirely. if you export the FL Studio files as a wav or mp3 then its 100% possible

  • dope

  • im having a hard time mapping the kick pedal

on my drum kit the kick pedal isnt on any of my keyboard keys

is it possible to switch it?

  • does this work with xbox 360 drumkit?

  • dude. thanks. everything else i've seen for rock band to midi were so complicated i didnt want to do it anymore!

    thumbs up.

  • @automaticfantastic I totally agree with you

  • my only problem is i dont understand how to set one pad being a kick, and the other pad being a snare and etc. how do you make that p[possible?

  • Hey is there a way to use two different sets in this? Would i just have to load up two instances of XPadder? Or is there a way to add more than 5 drums in XPadder?

Because i was going to get one of those sets with cymbals and then the one you use and make a 10 piece set with a double kick. Please let me know, because I still have to buy everything and install everything. Thx.

  • @SteveXII yeah, just configure ur other pad to another set of keys, but the cymbals hit the same pad as the color it is though.

  • ha! epic idea! :D gotta go try that out! thanks dude!

  • would this work with 360 drums too?

  • can you conect guitar hero drums to pc?

    thanks

  • how the hell did you move that keyboard thing over to the other monitor?

  • that's just how dual monitors work. nothing special on my end. :)

  • What's the program's name?fl studio and ex...?

  • xpadder

  • @balmyjoey

ajjajaajaja con el xpadder??? por un momento pense ke era algo mas complejin

  • Ableton has "Computer MIDI Keyboard" mode as well, and you can also use a MIDI yoke + Bome's Mouse Keyboard. Thanks man!

  • it wont let me get xpadder

  • haha Mr.M

  • does it sound and record at different velocities based on how hard you hit the pads? Or is it the same regardless

  • same velocity. i had heard the rock band 2 drums were velocity sensitive though.

  • xpadder dont work with window 7

  • Compatibility mode to XP SP2 and run as administrator, yes it does work...

  • how do i figure out what button to use? i have everyhting downloaded but i dont know what to configure it as

  • tnx guy!

    Grazie !

    Good Vid

  • hey thanks for all the help.... i have the demo verion... what do you use to opperate the kit..... all i get is individual parts .. like snare , crash, pedal ect. one at a time.....

  • will this work with the xbox 360 drums as well?

  • Ive done this but with my guitar hero drums and FL Studio but with EZ Drummer drum set from hell.... Its really fun to play with ^_^

  • BRAVO! Good vid.

  • finally some who knows how to talk...kinda

  • yo, good video man.

  • is there any other pcks than just the hip hop combo

  • What he's playing remninded me of Keyboard Cat somehow...

  • lol me too

  • ah nice!

i tried the other method, using MIDI yoke and such, and it didnt work. hopefully this xpadder method will work...

would this work with older versions of FL as well?

  • there a delay with the signal when you hit the drums and when you ear this sound?

  • does this work with Mixcraft?

  • lololol...i remember mixcraft...

  • with xpadder i dont see the 5 button

  • i got rock band with xbox is this work ?

  • drop (dot) io (slash) 360mididrummer

GHWT 360/PS2/PS3 to VSTi (MIDI) with velocity support. You need a wireless receiver.

  • works just great. how do i fix the lag on the drums with out using the buffer?

  • after two hours i finally got it working! :D

    thanks dude!

  • Does this work for any other type of program like Ableton Live?

  • it should, as long as you have the keyboard as midi controller setting in Ableton active

  • The small delay could be a result of latency in the controller interface, or his buffer could be set a little high.

  • Very clever but it does seem a little delayed which could be a problem when recording samples for over tracks. Maybe it was just the video though?!

  • ...or you could use the drum machine program

  • that beat is addictive

  • anybody know what i need to be able to record what i play on the drums of ghwt on my computer sort of to use them as electric drums. i already have the usb to connect the drums to my my laptop so now i just need a program anybody have a suggestion it would really help

right now i am going to try out mixcraft so ill see how it goes.

im looking for something simmilar to garage band

    i have windows vista

    thanks

  • I'm not having luck with Mixcraft, there's no "typing keyboard to midi" in the program.

  • i know i already uninstalled it it sucks

  • can u use the one for xbox 360?

  • How do you get it to map the C5 sound for each seperate sound? that a little confusing on my part

  • does this work with the ps2

  • does it work for the wii drum set?

  • yes

  • yes

  • how do i assign the keys to certain channels? or w/e because every time I hit a different pad on the drum kit it just makes different sounds of the channels...know what I'm saying?

  • yea, I'm in the same spot. I feel like we have to download a "Drum VST" or something..?

  • Great info! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • great video!! other blogs said to use "JoyToKey" but the "Xpadder"program looks really great.

    1. question- I am new to Fruity Loops, and producing in general. I have FL Studio 8 XXL and i was wondering how you check which keys are keyed to what sounds (ex: T=snare, Y=Hi-hat). Also, once you have the controller hooked up, how do you "record"the MIDI input to the Piano Roll?

    Thanks, and great vid!

  • How do I get the actual keyboard thing to work

  • everything works but the sond i cant seem to get to work

  • Cool video.

  • for the record it works on a 360 controller too. very cool vid. do you know how to fix the lag?

  • this helped a lot cause that joy to key shit wasnt working

what drum kits do you use on fl studio? cause most of them are lame

  • I am using a soundfont that is included in the download I linked to in the "more info"

  • I have a problem Xpadder wont open what ishould do

  • Dude, that is so freakin' awesome, thanks for making this video!

  • Works great, thanks a whole bunch dude!

  • You don't need Xpadder with the 360 drum set all I did was plug it in and configured the drum set to each key

  • Thanks for the help!

  • show us how to use a gutair controller

  • cool u have a dual screen

  • nice keyboard.

  • This got me thinking. Could you do same thing with the Rock Band Stratocaster and do guitar?

  • it should work in the same fashion. just use some guitar plug-in in FL studio like Slayer or whatnot. Kinda limited on notes though.

  • is fl studio free

  • if you download a torrent it is

  • you can get trial version, which will let you do everything, export to MP3s included, except save the project files.

  • 3:04 - almost sounds like battletoads nes lol watch?v=KTxh-4bqxb0

  • thats pretty close. I never would have caught that. Good ear!

  • ok can i use the xbox 360 drum set and do i need and hardware or modifying of the drum set?

  • Should be plug and play, especially since it's Microsoft. Wouldn't hurt to try. ;)

  • it is

  • If anybody is interested I've made a tutorial for using the rock band drums in Reason 4

  • no......

  • why are you yelling

  • ps3 and ps2 verisons r the same

  • great tut!

the other dudes was boring n quiet lol

  • Sweet! This'll be fun with FL studio thanks man!! :D

  • great vid thats sweet!!!! can you do this with the guitar from rock band, i wouldn't see why not???

  • have you tried it yet?

thats a freakin good idea dude!

  • My laptop won't install my 360 drum kit when i plug it in. it just keeps searching for the drivers or something, but it knows the name of the drum kit. is there any way to fix this? i can't get xpadder to read it with out this.

  • check the vid that is a response to. the guy who made that vid has a blog that tells you all about using the xbox set.

  • Are the drums for Rock band really connected with a USB cable? I don't think the 360 ones are. I am getting the 360 ones for this, because I am getting my 360 soon, but I don't have money for Rock band after, so i am buying drums.

  • another thing you can do is make a plain layer, set all your instruments as it's children and then left click and right click in the channel properties the key (just above the piano notes)

so instead of using something clunky like FPS like i suggested earlier... you can use this method instead

  • Too bad ordinary channel properties don't allow you to set the volume range, add more layers to each sound if it exceeds a certain velocity, and what not.

FPS has more tighter controls to make it more realistic. Especially with velocity. I would rather see one FPS module then 20 different channels anyways.

  • Will JoytoKey work as well?

  • how do you assign your sounds to keys in FL..

for example: how do you make your "K" on your keyboard play only your kick drum...make the "S" play your snare...etc etc

  • i do not know of an easy way aside from editing the soundfont using a soundfont editor. sorry, maybe there is a way (wow, that sounds like a challenge to you others), but I do not know it.

  • use the FPC plugin and change the midi key for each note

one thing i can't get working right is the terrible delay

i get terrible delay on my midi keyboards, terrible delay on this thing... seriously like 10ms or something BARF i dunno why but when i'm doing a drumroll, i don't want to be one or two hits in front of my sampler. any help with this would be great because it's annoying

  • what do you mean by this?

  • yes, u can use the xbox 360 version

  • it would be nice if you also explained how to map the drum sounds to the keyboard keys in FL studio.

  • Exactly what I was thinking... Looks like we're all going to have to start looking up tutorials for FL Studio...

  • can we use the 360 drum kit

  • that's awesome, thanks! i want to be able to use my own drum kits... is there a way to make the drums each trigger a different channel? or do you know a good free program to make my own vst or soundfonts?

  • Vienna Soundfont Studio is supposed to be easy. Google it and you should be able to grab it up from the Creative soundcard site for free. :)

  • thanks, i'll check that out. i also figured out that you can put your own wavs into the fpc plugin, but soundfont studio would probably be better (and definitely be helpful for other things too).

  • Thanks man! Xpadder is just the hint I needed to get this moving. I don't use FL studio, but Reason, instead. It doesn't have the built in keyboard mouse, but I already have "Bome's Mouse Keyboard". it's free, and works perfectly!

    You Rock :D

  • im gettin some delay between when i hit the drum and when it outputs it to the speaker... got any ideas?

  • That lag is probably the latency of your soundcard or its driver. Go under Options>Audio Settings in FL Studio and under Output, choose ASIO4ALL driver from the drop down menu. Next, on the same window, slide the slider for Buffer Length under Direct Sound Properties til the number in parentheses is around 10ms. After that if it isn't distorted at all, drop it even lower to around 4ms where mine is set.

  • you can also use glovepie and my script on my website a whole lot easier

  • holy shit dude thank you so much!

  • thatactually sounds really good.

  • when i type with my computer kryboard it plays the sounds but when i use my drums it doesnt. I know my drums are outputting keystrokes because i opened up notepad and hit the pads and text came up on notepad. Can you help me?

  • perhaps there are no sounds assigned to the letters that are being triggered with your drum pads. check notepad again to see what letters your drums type and then see if hitting those same letters on the keyboard cause any sounds to fire. other than that, I can't think of any other reason.

  • What version of Fl studio are you using? I'm using v7, and it doesn't seem to recognize the xpadder inputs. I've tried it in other programs, and it works there, so I'm guessing it has to be a problem with FL studio.

  • Edrum Monitor is the best program to use to convert it to Midi Signals

    goto edrummonitor dot com

  • cool

  • i dont understand.. i spent 185 for a game and in 2 weeks the guitar strum dont work.. and the snare (red) drum is etting messed up... does harmonix plan on addressing this??? 200 bucks for a game that last 2 weeks isnt such a good deal

  • yeah get a replacement from ea but thats if you didnt break it

  • Yea theyre grwat about that as long as u didnt break it. Btw this guy says FL studio too much

  • LOL didn't notice it at first.

  • You can also use Bome's Mouse Keyboard to use the keyboard as input if you want to use a different program than FL Studio.

  • I get my Xbox 360 ones to work but I am assuming the XPadder files you supplied does not work for me because of it obviously being the 360 one and not the PS3 one?

What keyboard keys do you assign to each buttons that way I can do it manually.

  • Oh and one more question , up on the "virtual keyboard" on screen there is a sound near the end of the right I want to use but it does not play from any key on the keyboard that I can find , is there any way I can play it with my mouse and find out what key it is used for or even set it for a key?

  • good to be used with DTXMANIA or session stream Drummania emulators

  • no, DTXMania and most other DrumMania emulators have a hi-hat, snare, hi-tom, lo-tom, cymbal and bass pedal. there aren't enough pads on a rockband controller to cope with that so practically EVERY DTX file you'll get you'll have to set one of the pads to auto... which really removes from the experience of playing any of the songs

thankfully, the DTX community most likely despise RockBand so will never make any DTX files specifically for use with the RockBand controller :D

    HURRAH! \o/

  • Nice dude!

Now I don't feel so bad for spending $170 on toy instruments. :)

  • I hope someone comes up with that,i would like a really cheap MIDI drm controller for my Drumkit From Hell and BFD VSTi's

  • Good stuff, anyway to vary the velocity of the hits?

  • None that I know of, as the keyboard input isn't velocity sensitive. There will probably be a much better way to do this later by using the drum kit as a true midi controller in more than just FL Studio. Hopefully someone will rig up an app or make a script for GlovePIE to use it that way. This was just my quick way to get you playing something using the drum kit.

  • Wow, this is great, thanks for posting it.

I've also got Rock Band and FLStudio.

It seems that your PS3 drumpads are way more sensative than my XBox pads (maybe it was all the game playing over the last three days that did them in?)- i have to wail on my pads a LOT harder than it seems you're hitting yours in order to get the "button press" to register at all.

My kick pedal and buttons work great, but it'd be awesome to be able to reliably use the pads too...

  • Nevermind. Looks like my pad sensitivity problem was the result of having Microsoft's XBox 360 Controller software installed. After installing a 3rd party driver (XBCD), the pads work fine.

  • Well done, joey!

  • How do you assign keys to different instruments ?

i know how to do it for one but when i need to change instrument the key changes also

  • Threw together a package of the soundfont used, the presets, and the FL Studio project I used.

Check the About This Video section for the link.

  • you rock, thanks a ton
