if you are running the amp on stock battery you are not getting the 800w rms unless u upgrade the yellowtop battery and the big 3 high amp alternator you need those 3thing to bring up the voltage.....most of hifonics amps are rated at 14.4v CEA complaint

@wakaflockaflexin i got 1 12 in. Kicker l5 in a vented box with that exact amp..the hifonics 2500 mono amp..i have it wired at 4 ohms so its gettim 850 watts..ima buy another l5 then do 2 ohms..check out my vid it was the first day i got the sub so its not broken in yet tho

@BoCankles yo it was good it surprized me. and no i wasnt on a budget im planning to put 9 15" kicker l7's and my fi BTL 15" in my mazda b300 and each amp im gettin costs like $400 (hifonics) and the speakers are insanely expensive (but good). the legacy amp was just a quick fix but it was really good quality.

only when you have a lot of power pushing through your sub. my kicker 12 is only bumping 150watts, it doesn't cause my car to shake and bend, yet still delivers that low end to my music. if I open a window, the bass gets less extreme. when you have your sub powered higher, it moves more air, opening the window allows for better air movement, hence why during competitions for SPL, they leave the windows down and doors open, it lets the subs work better since they are so high powered.
