It's amazing to me that people don't understand that much of the German army in WWII were not "Nazis", but people serving on the front lines, believing they were defending their country- they had nothing to do with the politics, or what went on in death camps.

War is a horrible shit for soldiers on all sides, including Germans, I mean think about it they're pretty much the same, their mothers are worried, they miss home and probably people they love, they both fear death, they both loose friends, I mean just imagine the feeling of picking up photographs off a dead "enemy soldier" and what you would see, no different to your own!

Er basiert auf dem im Jahr zuvor erschienenen gleichnamigen autobiografischen Roman von Gregor Dorfmeister (veröffentlicht unter dem Pseudonym Manfred Gregor), der nach eigener Aussage mit diesem Roman seine persönlichen Kriegserlebnisse verarbeitet und veröffentlicht hat.

It's amazing to me that people don't understand that much of the German army in WWII were not "Nazis", but people serving on the front lines, believing they were defending their country- they had nothing to do with the politics, or what went on in death camps.

@DogMechanic In general German Heer, had no idea whats going on. They were just doing their orders. People all ways seem to forget, the Average German Soldier was just like any Allied troop, they all had families back at Germany they wanted to go back home too.

Hitler was just a druggie that was to dumb to win, a war that was almost given to him. If it wasn't for his generals he wouldn't have gotten as far as he did.
