well as a canadian gun owner I know that the usa has more guns per capita than us. In total 15 percent of canadians own a gun vs america where its 25 percent. However in canada we had 33 gun deaths last year vs americana 1498. I do realize that the united stats does have 10 times the population so if we had as many people we would have 330 deaths a year. and even if you doubled that it would be 660 and per capita where way lower than the usa on gun crime.

@hint0122, your job is to make things right! The USA is the richest country in the world. The average CEO makes more in one day then the regular American working man makes in the whole year. When you look at the collapse of the USA economy, it wasn't caused by guns.....it was caused by wallstreet greed. Make sure no one is poor, yes as a society we are only as strong as our weakest member.

You shouldn't be able to pay your way in to collage, it should be based on your intelect only and it should be free.

hell no. college was never met to given to someone. you dont pay to get into college, you need grades to get in. if you want college to be free, how about you come here and pay higher taxes.

It cost a lot of money to get in to a good college in america, therfore a lot of people can't afford it. Then they don't get the same chance as rich people.

then they should go to a community college, like alot of people have done. then they can ,improve grades, and go to a another school I know someone who lived in a tent when he went to college and now he is a doctor i would like to know what in your mind is a good school and how much it costs. i can go to a state college and get the same degree as someone going to anywhere else and pay a fraction. how much does the goverment need to do?

Dude just chill the fuck out. Few Canadians believe in the registry or this disarming movement you speak of. We just don't see it as a big enough issue to vote for someone or not. We stash our firearms behind the door or in the ceiling of the basement and keep our mouths shut. In some areas of Canada like Alberta and Saskatchewan the cops don't even enforce some of the more ridiculous laws and privately MP's and MLA's have told people not to obey the long gun registry.

It makes it very difficult for the average person to own a gun in canada. Black market is very easy for criminals, but, for law abiding citizens it's difficult. @soonercarports WHAT? Are you for real? First off... why does the everyday guy need a gun anyway? I work on a ship and we often go to Africa. There are some pirat attacks (not as many as the news says but still...) and even we don't have guns. So if your a, lets say... butcher... you need a gun in your life? @Daelyas After reading your statement about working on a ship, it's clear to me that the APATHETIC and CREDULOUS anti gun mindset is alive and well in you. My children EXPECT me to come home in the evening after work. I carry loaded handguns to help ensure that happens. To say that you go into hostile PIRATE waters WITHOUT GUNS tells me that you really don't care about your family back home and that's very sad. If an AK-47 or a nice 50 cal weapon would help me come home safely, why not?

@soonercarports Easy. Because the law does not allow it. We are a civil trade vessel. Weapons of any kind are not allowed. Against international law. I was draftet for the military a couple years ago (yes we still have that in peace loving europe :D ) and i learned how to shot and handle guns. G 36 and P 8. German Bundeswehr standard. Im not good at it... but also not bad. Still I am no fool. Pirats don't want to kill us. They want money. If you armed they will kill you. so we actually are safer

@soonercarports Maybe you are right about the kids part... I am not married so I would not know. I'll give you that part. But still I do not agree with the current american gun law. And please answer my other questions. I would really like to know why cars need a permit and guns don't. It is just a very old law that has no place in the modern world. The statistic of world wide violence is on my side. Where there are strict gun laws crime and violence are far less likely to happen. This is a fact

@Daelyas What do you mean? We have to have a permit to have a concealed weapon. We have to pass the NICS FBI FEDERAL background check in order to purchase a firearm. You are wrong about less crime and violence where there are strict gun laws. Each year in the US, 0.004 percent of our pop is killed via guns each year. That's a very LOW NUMBER. More ppl die each year from CIGARETTES and ALCOHOL than guns. Utimately its about protection from a tyrannical government, period.

That makes it ok? As long as not to many people die? Great point! The victims must feel much better now. And your goverment could never pull of a coupe d'etat in this day and age. The press and the rest of the free world would step in way more effectivly than some untraind morons with rifles.

You GENERALIZE, you UNDERESTIMATE us, and you really make fools out of yourselves. About 5% or less of us gun owners have a FFL-Federal Firearms License. You have to have an FFL, which is monitored by the BATFE to buy a "Machine Gun", period. Sure, all of this is insane to you bc u have been brainwashed, clearly, and have never had a 2nd Amendment like us.
