For the record, Dan was actually mistaken for the show's creator, Merv Griffin, one time at some place. He wondered who they thought he was, then later he overheard it was Merv Griffin.
Alex commented "good thing, they didn't ask you for autograph, unless you wouldn't know whose name to put". pretty funny.
