  • I made this last weekend with a recipe from Anthony Worrell Thomspon and it didnt turn out right at all, i tried your recipe tonight and omg fabulous, thank you so much :D

  • can i use nestle cream?

  • Hi what kind of cream whipped cream?

  • @mariameaghan123 Pouring Cream ;)

  • i am f@ckin hungry right now !!!! :)

  • Let me try this one, on new years eve....

  • Beautiful eyes ahaha!

  • Can we substitute milk for cream? I just used the last of my heavy cream making caramel.. lol. :(

  • God that looks soo fattening :s ... but nice

  • i am eating it right now!! excellent! Thank you one pot chef!" :-)

  • great vid man,

  • @OnePotChefShow hey chef! erm, when you say eggs yolks. means you don't put in the white eggs as well? just the yolks?

  • @nasyitahali1 Yes, just the yolks, no egg whites ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow ahh ok. thanks chef!

  • I have a wicked food boner right now..

  • needs MOAR BACON. also, freshly ground pepper always makes a great finishing touch ....

  • Can I use chicken instead of bacon?

  • @eyesack9 Absolutely - I recommend cooking the chicken first before adding it to this dish ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow thank you chef!

  • finally! found a video that makes carbonara the way i want! haha! thank you! and i want to ask, currently im living in the uk and i went to the nearest super market, morrison and they dont have parmesan cheese! :( would it be alright if use other types of cheese?

  • @nasyitahali1 You can use Parmesan or Peccorino Cheese for best results. Strange that they don't have Parmesan, it's a fairly common ingredient these days. Might be worth a trip to another supermarket or maybe the local deli ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow i know... it's so weird. anyway, thank you!

  • How should i go about preparing this if its more than 1 portion?

  • @rapidfire770 This recipe serves 2 people - so if you need to serve 4, simply double the ingredients ;)

  • As a big lover of pasta, i can't believe i've never had this before! Looks so yummy, and i have the ingredients (except the cream) so i have to make this!

  • what specific kind of cream did you use? :)

  • THANK YOU!

  • the egg yolks look..... orange.

  • @skaviri That's because... they are orange ;)

  • You are amazing. Right now in Moscow it is 1 o'clock. I am going to make this right now! I am 12 years old and I love to cook. You are my favorite chef on youtube. You know how to make and explain everything perfectly! Thank you.

  • OMG AMAZING

  • good work im cooking that 2night

  • what kind of cream?

  • @lazomaniac The same kind of cream you would use for whipping ;)

  • wow! i can believe how easy and fast this recipe was to make, i am definitely traying this for diner tomorrow. As always thank you! you are amazing!!

  • just made it for brunch! oh my god it's awesome! thanks a lot onepotchef :p i wish i could share with you the pictures of the carbonara i made! <3 i sauteed some white mushrooms with the bacon grease and fry up sausages as a side. sinful and deliciousss

  • @irenenergy and with lotssss of ground black pepper :p

  • @irenenergy You can always post your pictures on my Facebook page - there's a link in the video description. I'm sure everyone would like to see them :)

  • chief .. try it with corn chicken nuggets its very delecious

  • Anything with bacon needs onion. I know it's not classic just this gal's opinion.

  • Oh...try sprinkling some ground black pepper to finish this dish! Its really compliment this dish :)

  • Those are some weird looking eggs... And what's with u and cream?!?!? Ur like Italians and oil!!!!! Lol but ur cool

  • That looks so good. I love Pasta Carbonara!

  • Is that Canadian bacon or ham rather then American bacon; as it looks like ham pieces?

  • @EGMAG It's Australian Bacon, which I'm told is like American Ham ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow

    Great; thank you OnePotChef.

  • Can you use half and half cream?

  • @arrysortanez You can use any cream suitable for whipping ;)

  • Thank you so much for this recipe! I need to do a video response, I just made it with a twist! I used spaghetti, one egg, shredded cheese and added a bit of ketchup, now you may say the ketchup ruined it but, it is delicious, I'm eating it now =) Thanks again! Peace!

  • @FindMeInKurume Oh I forgot, I used canned tuna as well, so its completely different ingredients but I followed your directions, thanks!

  • MY EGGS ALWAYS GET SCRAMBLED!! :( help me, awww!

  • @shortyChanx3 This is explained in the video :)

  • @OnePotChefShow oh, right low heat.. i didn't do that ahah

and i did another thing wrong, i put the entire eggs not just the yolks (ahah i fail again!)

    well thanks!

  • @shortyChanx3 maybe you can try to temper the egg if you're not confident? :) that means you remove the noodles from the pot first then you heat the cream and take two spoonfulls from the pot and mix it in a separate bowl with the eggs and drop it back into the pot together with the rest of the ingredients. It'll prevent it from scrambling. if you're more confident you can try the onepotchef's style as he's been cooking for ages! :)) But mmmm yum! i will make this tomm!

  • love just made this and eating it now

  • omg yum i will definatley make this one,,,very easy.. : )

  • I have some left over bacon and now I know just what to do with it. Thanks One Pot Chef. You are the best.

  • Cool :-)

  • mmmmmmm you always hit the spot One Pot Chef, your a spitting image of a friend of mine-Paul Goss,do you know the pommee???

  • "I'M THE ONE POT CHEF!" XD

  • I LOVE YOU ONE POT CHEF!!! ONLY LOVE FROM HERE.

  • I make carbonara quite often but just a tip for those worried about making scrambled eggs. Mix the cream (I just use milk) and the eggs together before adding it to the pasta. I also use whole eggs and less milk than called for in this recipe. Enjoy! Great post one pot chef. I find too many people don't know how to make this wonderfully easy dish! Goes fantastic with a Cesar salad on the side (One of the easiest salads too)

  • Now i am in a dilemma because i want to make it but the shops are shut and i dont have any of the ingredients. what can i do?

  • Love your videos!!!!

  • tanks @onepotcheftshow

  • To me the original version is a bit too eggy and it needs to be watered down so that it is not too dry. I think the cream binds everything together and gives it a nice velvety texture. I don't care that it is not original - if it is better!

  • i just had pizza and this made me hungry again!

  • What's that cream??

    Oh my gosh..

I'm italian and if you really wanna make a good carbonara you need only an egg, parmesan cheese and some pepper!

  • @ReiAsaka Please read the description

  • @ReiAsaka

Molti italiani usano la panna nella carbonara

  • time to get my mom to take me to the grocery store tomorrow =D

  • i loev when you taste it! :)

  • Looks delicious thanks man

  • One Pot Chef, you are amazing.. You helped me make my first lasagne and now this will be my next venture. I love cooking and you cook the food that I love, thank you and keep up the good work fella!

  • @Kiefty I will! I'm glad I've been able to hep you out - keep on cooking ;)

  • do u know what a scrambledegg-past tastes like?

  • That's it! I am going to track down where you live and move in next door and become the annoying neighbours that always knock on your door at dinner time.

  • @TheNakedWombat I live in an igloo in Alaska, if that helps :P

  • thank you, it looks lovely delicious, and i will definitely give it a go!

furthermore, i have a small question, some members in my family don't like uncooked egg, is there any substitution or any good suggest?

  • @standback001 The egg isn't uncooked - I suggest you rewatch the video ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow When the water which immerse and cook the pasta is dry up, I suppose you turned off the heat. Is that the mistake I make? thank you~

  • @standback001 As I show you in the video, Cook the pasta, drain the water. Add the cream, egg yolks and cheese. Then stir over a low heat for about 2 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly ;)

  • @standback001 The egg gets cooked by the hot pasta. Don't worry and don't tell your family members. They will love it!

  • @Annchan ya, it's a small misunderstanding, and i have corrected it now, thank you. i should tell them finally and hope that they don't fell the dish too much creamy by my cook.

  • I usually mix the sauce in a seperate bowl but this way saves having to clean extra dishes, might try it tonight :)

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU WANT THE ONE POT CHEF TO BRING OUT A RECIPIE BOOK.

In the mean time, I'll keep adding to fact sheet file.

  • @mumsthewitch there is actually a onepotchef cookbook.

  • @NoraShiningStar Thanks for watching - I'm glad you enjoyed my video :)

  • You make it look easy!! Looks good!!

  • Yumm! It may not be "the original", but i prefer the cream based version.

This tastes damn good :-) At least in my humble opinion.

Oh and... Can you make "Kohlrouladen" please? Thats a (i believe) german dish made of beef mince wraped in cabbage. Usually served with potatoes and gravy.

  • looks good

  • @treearrow lmao0o read the insturction... @OnePotChefShow why is it that people always say the stupedest things... ima make this dish to my puerto rican husband cuz he lovessss italian food and i bet is as good as the real thing... love ur show <3

  • I'm Italian and I am a chef and I know they do not do this and there should be the cream!

  • @manumole Please read the video description

  • I'm italian, leave me to tell you that the real carbonara doesn't want the cream... just only: bacon, oil, eggs, pecorino romano (or yes.. parmigiano is an alternative), pepper and salt.. fried the bacon with the oil... mix eggs with pepper and pecorino... add pasta into bacon.. at the end, turn off the fire, and add the eggs mixture..........in my opinion, your dishes are too fat... too much butter, cream, sause.... but this is just only my opinion... (sorry for my english) bye bye :)

  • @treearrow Please read the video description

  • @OnePotChefShow yeah.. in fact i think that you don't have semplified it because believe me: it's easier prepare original carbonara xD..... anw I hope you don't be offended .. it wasn't my intention.. :D

  • @treearrow thanks for the original recipe! greetings from austria

  • @tyler62126 you're welcome ;)...

  • @treearrow There is always one isn't there....just enjoy the recipe dude. this way...that way..who cares

  • @treearrow There is always one isn't there...just enjoy the recipe dude....this way..that way....who cares.

  • @treearrow the one pot chef, does his impression off the dish it doesn't have to be original i think, you are very right, but this is just the one pot chef, doing it his way :)

  • I know all your recipes are easy, but have you got anything for a super lazy student? :)

  • @fourthlemon Too many to name. I suggest you explore all my videos on my channel page ;)

  • this is so easy, i never realised!

  • @nnnaaatttaaallliiiee I hope you have fun making this dish - thanks for watching ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow David for can you please teach us how to make Eton mess?

  • @horrormovie100 I'll add it to the list ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks, I can't wait

  • what can you substitude cream with.

  • @aeee0 you need to use cream for this recipe. I suggest searching for a traditional Italian carbonara recipe, which doesn't use cream ;)

  • @aeee0 Milk or remove it completely and use whole eggs.

  • pasta omelette sounds pretty good

  • @SquashyJohnson LOL everyone has said that, maybe I should make one :P

  • CAbonara~~~ AH! *drools* me and me best friends favorite pasta ~~ So going to try!~

  • @staybunnybunny Thanks for watching :)

  • your egg look weird!

  • @convers0211 In what way?

  • @OnePotChefShow haha the yolk looks orange

  • @convers0211 Not that unusual, that's what eggs look like in Australia ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow really? haha i didnt know that! haha maybe its because im stuck in singapore haha its always yellow here..

  • Comment removed

  • @convers0211 There's orange eggs in singapore what, :P

  • Is there any other cheese you could recommend for this dish? I really dislike parmesan (it's the smell, ugh).

  • @vidoodeum Peccorino cheese works well too. You could use cheddar, but it tends to be a bit oily when it melts. Have an experiment and see what works for you ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow I like it with shredded provalone too.

  • @wemigwansjc Let me know how if turns out :)

  • looks good.....bacon, cheese, cream, pasta, eggs....dang it looks good.

  • @evilkate666 It's a good combination ;)

  • Is that regular bacon or a Canadian type bacon ?

  • @DBIGMAN812MANY I'm from Australia, our bacon is similar to Canadian bacon. But any bacon will do for this recipe ;)

  • the 3 dislikes probably made the giant pasta omelete.

  • @CanadianB0B Most likely hahaha :P

  • Excellent recipe

  • @Rancidknewl Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Me being me I'd add a small can of chopped green chile's but that's just me. Easy recipe and well done

  • @Scootermagoo Sounds delicious :)

  • Oh sure - why not mate? Starchy Pasta + Cream + Yolks (not even whites) + Bacon + Cheese + MORE CHEESE?!? hahaha How can it NOT be delicious you evil bitch! :-P *stomach growling*

  • @steven3x That's just the way I roll LOL :P

  • How easy! I might be putting garlic in mine. Mmmm

  • @53531640 Sounds lovely ;)

  • one of my fav pasta dishes.....:)

  • @pepsidruid Thanks for watching :)

  • hmmm a pasta bacon omelet sounds pretty good to me

  • @metlhed7 Actually it does, doesn't it? :P

  • indeed this is one of those basic dishes you can mutate into 400 pasta dishes :D

  • @saberj2x Exactly - once you learn the basic recipe, you can alter it to your own tastes ;)

  • Great job Dave! I'm a savory guy myself, and a minimalist, AND called Dave myself :-)

What more could I ask than a random, simple and tasty recipe from down-under once or twice a week?

    Look forward to your next!

  • @Terrestrify Thanks - I'm glad you enjoy my videos ;)

  • Is there some other ingredient you could replace the cream with?

  • @aspenaspen This version needs the cream. There are other more traditional versions out there that don't use cream at all, but they are more difficult to make ;)

  • no chicken or mushrooms?! :O lol

  • @oxRACH333Lxo This is a basic Carbonara - you're more than welcome to add additional ingredients if you wish ;)

  • dave, can u please do a veggie taco (if its possible) because my brother is a vegeterian and on taco nite he eats rice and meat plus he needs to gain a few pounds he is 118 pounds and he turned 19! and if u see him he is like my pinky! (im 9 years old you can imagine that!) please! thx, ciao!

  • @cupcakelovable Sounds like your brother needs more protein in his diet. If he's vegetarian, get him to eat more mushrooms, they are loaded with protein and very filling :)

  • @OnePotChefShow the problem with that is he's a VERY picky eater i mean really picky it annoys me sometimes -.-

  • Oh, yum, Dave! I can't imagine why I haven't made this in years. I used to make it all the time, and I will do it sometime this week. Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration. (I also add in some chopped spring onion with the cream, eggs, bacon, etc. It adds a lovely fresh flavor and the onions softens as the sauce thickens.)

  • @gcarped Sounds delicious :)

  • Happy Easter!
