I'm not a big Ryan Adams fan, but he made this his own, as much as he could. There aren't many singers out there that could top Layne, at least Adams is giving it a shot. And not a bad one. And, right.. you could do better??
I'ma AIC & R. Adams fan & this is one of the best covers of any song. Both Layne & Ryan are/were passionate singers. One of the best songs from Layne was Wake Up from his band Mad Season. But on another note Ryan is one of the best and most prolific singer/songwriter of all time. He's written more songs and released more EP's and albums than bands like AIC, Soundgarden and Nirvana put together. I'm sure Layne was proud to have the great Ryan Adams cover this song...great job Ryan!
This sounds like the version which is on the 'Everybody Knows EP'. They obviously played this back and used it for the EP because they absolutely nailed it! Such a great cover, better than the original in my eyes.
Instead of bitching about how it's not as good as the orignal, just be happy that there are musicians out there who love AIC?
