This grouping of Drifters were very good! These guys were so incredibly SCREWED OVER by the Treadwell family... THESE Drifters were Johnny Moore's pride and joy.. Now because of some legal BS, the Turney-Lamarr-Bynoe-Alan group is no longer allowed to call themselves the Drifters and in their place are 4 piss-poor singers picked by Treadwell... and that group can't keep a solid line-up for more than a year... it's trash and unfair to THESE much more talented individuals
Love this song! I saw the Drifters many times in the early and middle 60's before they did this song. Ben E. King was the lead singer when I first saw them many moons ago!
I'm 30 years-old and my parents loved "beach music", in fact, they still do. But they played this and a number of other songs every time we went to the beach when I was a kid. For some reason, it popped into my head today on the way home from work and I had to look it up. It's still great! Long live the Drifters!!
Poor Johnny Moore, died penniless thanks to Faye Treadwell's awful management. She pretty much 'owned' Johnny and he knew it. He was the voice of the Drifters but she owned the name Then after he died she abandoned the name, these guys continued touring with the Moore family's blessing, Treadwell sees a market, sues for the name and wins. WHAT A TRAVESTY! Pete, Rohan, Patrick & Vic worked hard to build their reputation, they sold out venues...then along comes TREADWELL!!!! UGH!
I am 36 and this was my favorite song at 5! You are an "Old Soul" me too ---we were born too many years too late!!!!! R U a NC girl that shags? I love my beach music
The Drifters date back to the early 50's with Clyde McPhatter and Ben E. King asoriginal lead singers and there are maybe 10 touring groups using the name but what the hell..it's great music...enjoy
i saw these in the wyvern theatre in swindon a couple years ago. absolutely brilliant front row seats they are so frendly shook hadns with all of them
Its so unfair what has been done to these guys, the uk now has 4 guys no one knows and none of them have ever been a part of the drifters!!For me and many others the guys in this video will always be the proper drifters.
I have seen these 4 guys 5 times in Leeds, bradford and York, UK....I fell in love with Rohan after taing my mum to see them, then waiting for a pic with them...he now remembers me when i see him after the shows, and I have my treasured pics with him!!Can't believe they have to change names!! They are always so passionate about past "Drifters" and i saw the 50th anniversary tour where they said they will keep going! LOVE U ROHAN!! XX
Hello. I am from Denmark. I saw these wonderful guys in 2007. It was a fantastic concert! After the concert we meet Peter in Holstebro and spend some funny times with him in town.
I don´t like those new guyes! I have seen them a few weeks ago and were dissapointet!
I have to see those guyes in the video again. I want to bye CDs and DVDs. Can anybody help me?
saw these guys yesterday under the new name of DFour, good show as usual. They are now apparantly on tour but can't find any venues, dates or website for them. Does anyone have any info
Can anybody tell me if these guys are the ones managed by Faye Treadwell? If so then they should have the legal right to the name "The Drifters" They are really good. I just saw a video of these Drifters along with
Procol Harum's Gary Booker (A World of Love). This is the BEST video I've seen this year. I wish we could see more performances of this caliber in the US.
Can you believe that owing to a legal mess up and despite 20 years or so performing together as the Drifters these guys are no longer able to use that name?! We love them and have seen this line up about 12 times. Believe they are now renamed 'DFour' - if anyone knows where we can see them then please post here! No other so-called 'Drifters' will compare...
the drifters are fantasic, love there songs, just had letter for the xfactor going up to london for audition on the 26th of may 2008 hope to be singing saturday night at the movies, hope to get though look out for me antonio wish me luck thank you
Bloomin Brillinat!! I think these guys are fantastic and never get bored of listening to them! Have seen them perform 4 times and im going to their final show as the drifters at the end of May, can't wait! More videos need to be put on you tube of these guys! Rohan, Patrick, Peter and Victor RULE!!! xx
This is the Drifters: Rohan Delano Turney, Peter Lamarr, Victor Bynoe and Patrick Alan
They were asked by the longest serving member ever - the late but great Johnny Moore to carry on the legacy....they are now endorsed by both the MOORE family and one of the main songwriters of the hits Roger Greenaway...
As long they are endorsed by the Moore family thats cool and they aren't just a floating bunch of phonies!! Like I said, they are very good, good to hear Johnny's songs being carried on
Fantastic, been to see them at least 4 times always first rate, they are on tour later this year, I'm buying tickets cause they are well worth the ticket price, plus rohan is totally gorgeous xx claironetreehill xx
I have the DVD of this show and it is absolutely fantastic. This line up pays a great tribute to Johnny Moore throughout the concert which is a very nice touch to it.
