  • Where is the Easter Sequence?

  • I think that the Easter Night Mass Video that I have uploaded shows a much better example of a decent catholic mass. From the Amsterdam based St. Agneschurch.

  • God Bless the Catholic Church!

  • Crazy ex-Catholics turned wild men self appointed prophets, no salvation outside the Catholic Church.

  • Catholic tradition dictates that the choir not compete with the area around the high altar.

  • Anathema sit.

  • @pharad1962: It's worth a try; I know a lot of people swear by it. The problem I had was that I was hard as a rock ALL THE TIME. At work, at the grocery store, at church(!)...but I STILL couldn't perform when it counts. Either way, good luck to you!

  • I wish tradition would be restored in the church..

  • very good i was very happy to see and listen to the word of god, because i did not go to easter mass

so i was thinking how can i workship god

  • very nice mass

  • I agree - very nice and valid.

  • Why is the new liturgical music so bloody awful? Who writes this garbage? The tone is off. It is so annoying. What about the great Catholic hymns of old, the chants, even the great classic English hymns? Have they all been relegated to the ash heap? And get rid of those awful guitars--we have had enough of guitars. And let's have a little incense, please.

  • I'd second that. The Protestants wrote this music.

I am a part of my School's Evangelical Chirstian club, and they had

"Praise and Worship service", with Rock music. I was forced to Life Teen Mass that Sunday and their was almost no differance.

  • @nickelsT HAVE YOU READ SACRED SCRIPTURE LATELY? PRAISE GOD WITH THE STRINGED INSTRUMENTS (PSALMS) NOTHING WRONG WITH GUITARS, DRUMS THE RAISING OF HANDS (PSALM 63 WHICH IS USED IN THE ROMAN BREVIARY). WHAT IS AWFUL IS THE WHOLE CATHOLIC DOCTRINE OF COMMUNION (CANNIBALISM [TRANSUBSTANTIATION DID NOT BECOME A DOCTRINE UNTIL INNOCENT III) AND THE WAY YOU ABUSE SACRED SCRIPTURE! BTW, THE POPE IS FALLIBLE AND HE DOES NOT SPEAK SCRIPTURE! I THANK GOD EVERY DAY FOR LEADING ME OUT OF THE ROMAN CULT!

  • @MenechemShaul That "cult" was founded by Christ himself, and you exchanged a sacramental, apostolic Church for a Protestant church founded by MAN. THere is simply no comparison. You Protestants view communion as merely symbolic of the body and blood of Christ, not the real thing despite what Jesus said, "This IS my body, this IS my blood." No symbolism here! It is what He said it is. Get out of Protestantism.

  • @MyBetty111 No it was not. The term Catholic did not even exist unti 110 A.D., furthermore nowhere in the New Testament does it mention Popes or Princes of the Church (the Term Pope came from the Roman Pagan world) and Princes of the church (Cardinals) in fact Christ himself said do not follow the was of the Nikolaitans in Revelation 2 (they created sort of a royalty in the church). Truth be know the New Testament Catholic (universal) Church is not the same as the Idol worshiping church!

  • @MyBetty111 Have you read Christs words in John 6. Have you also read what the Church teaches in regards to Scripture? John 6 every Catholic likes to throw this one out and yet forget where the church stands when it comes to scripture, we are not to take it literally, its the Word of God but in the words of men! I take the Word of God as Supreme Authority over all doctrines as It Is the Word of God Scribed by men, not in mes words. John 6 is a rabbinic metaphor.

  • @MenechemShaul Yeshua was essentially saying that we must take in his example of being. that we walk the way he walked. If Yeshua was teaching cannibalism than why did not at the Passover meal take a knife and to his flesh and cut out a piece of flesh and feed it to them and then drain his veins and give the to drink? Instead he gave them Matzah and Wine and said do this in Remembrance of me. Paul in 1 Corinthians 11 makes a strong argument for Consubstantiation, which is what Luther preaches!

  • @MenechemShaul Furthermore Paul states When we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim his death. In other words it is still Bread and wine we are eating and drinking in remembrance of him. Hebrews 9-10 states that we are no longer in need of sacrifices as he was offered once and for all. The 'sacrifice of the mass' a 'representation' is in direct violation of Hebrews 9-1!

  • Why must there always be guitars? I thought guitars were a thing of the past. This is an Easter Mass but I didn't see any incense. The choir does not belong near the altar but along the side of the church or in the rear of the church. When the choir is by the altar it looks like a Broadway production.

  • @nickelsT The Catholic church does NOT hire professional singers and musicians, the choir is merely people from the parish who like to sing.

And some churches have the choir near the side of the altar because they don't believe in spending millions to build a golden calf building (like that Angelica's multimillion dollar golden calf in her church) just to have a fancy choir loft. It's far more impportant to provide service to the poor.

  • @nickelsT Jesus came as a poor man, and and he preferred to live among the poor. He is not looking for pomp and circumstance from His church. And incense, well, do you believe that people should suffer asthma attacks while at Mass, or maybe they shouldn't attend Mass at all, just for pomp and circumstance

  • @PaulA13501 You are absurd. You don't even sound like a Catholic. Incense is part of Catholic, Jewish and Orthodox tradition. People with asthma? Excuse me? Look, you sound like a Southern Baptist. Tradition is a valuable part of the Church; liturgical abuses, and the 'dumbing down' of the liturgy is part of an apostasy. A choir does not belong near the altar. It belongs in the rear of the church. Check out Duncan Stroik architects at Notre Dame. You are an idiot.

  • @MyBetty111 Oh, so you think there is no such thing as asthma??????

What do YOU think people are supposed to do with they have asthma? Huh? Can you tell me?

  • @nickelsT Obviously you are not familiar with what Vatican teachings are nor the USCCB teaches! They teach that Choirs are not to be at the back of the sanctuary or in the loft. Furthermore if you study Church History and architecture you would see that the choir was in behind the alter(as is the case at the chapel of EWTN) or even just before the communion rail and high alter but up the steps (much like what you would see in an Anglican use church. You are highly ignorant to the cults teachings!

  • The new translation will really help out in masses like this. It will be nice to see Fr. Jeffrey thrice striking his breast and saying "Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault."

  • Thats during the Tridentine not the Novus Ordo.

  • @wsxyz Yeah, it's going to be TERRIBLE when it's changed back to the olden outdated language days. When they say "the Lord be with you." and we reply, "and with your ghost." Remember, spirt means ghost, or the school spirit when we like our school. And then the Holy Holy Holy, Lord God of Hosts, does that mean Lord God of Wafers? Or does that mean Lord God of emsee's of the show?

  • @PaulA13501 It's probably more correct to say that "ghost" means spirit. Still, the translation is "and with your spirit" not "and with your ghost". So, no one will be saying "and with your ghost", but they will be saying "and with your spirit" which, by the way, is the correct translation of the Latin "et cum spiritu tuo".

  • @wsxyz Oh the new "translation"???? Translations from other languages come out stupid and WRONG. The "And also with you." is to go back to the outdated language of "And with your spirit," which means "And with your ghosts." Or spirit means like in school spirit. It is just WRONG.

  • @PaulA13501 Other languages correctly translate "et cum spiritu tuo". For example, in German, everyone says "und mit deinem Geiste" and no one has a problem with it.

  • @wsxyz And we are also supposed to be changing to the outdated stupid terminology in the Holy Holy Holy to say "....Lord God of hosts." Does that mean "Lord God of wafers"? Or does that mean "Lord God of emcees"

The most proper is to say Lord God of Power and Might, that is the correct thing to say

  • @PaulA13501 Why yes Paul. The new translation does say "Lord God of Hosts" and I'm sure you will enjoy saying it.

  • Fr. I do not mean to be disrespectful or rude to a Priest but don't ignore my question. If you belive that Chirst our King and God is truly present in the blessed sacrament then why put him aside?

  • I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but I truly feel sorry for the Catholics who know no other liturgy than this shameful display. Please, find a chapel of the SSPX!

  • No the SSPX is still mostly on schisem with Rome. Go FSSP or ICK etc etc etc!

  • Why is the tabernacle off to the side. Is that disrespectul?

  • It most certainly s very disrespectful!

It shows that liberals like these put more emphasis on themselves than on our Blessed Lord, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

  • So early Christianity was "liberal"?

SSPXers and their supporters ought to learn about obedience to the Magisterium.

You remind me more of the Eastern schismatics.

  • The tabernacle -traditionally - was never in the center but had its own chapel where the people could adore God present in the Eucharist in silence. The main focus of the Mass is the sacrifice of the Lamb on the alter: so having them both in the center may cause a problem in terms of where to put one's focus.

  • Comment removed

  • I understand, but why can't they erect a small side chapel with the blessed sacrament in an ostensorium and put the tabernacle at the head of the Altar?

  • I guess that'd be a question of finances: we already have many Catholicfacilities closing down, parishes being combined.

  • Then it would be a lot cheaper to have the tabernacle at the head. Infact even cheaper if the Tabernacle and Altar where combined into one High Altar

  • Many new churches do not have a high altar; where there is one, Rome says it is good to use them still. Some churches (like the Cathedral in Worms) have the high-altar quite far away though...

It is said though that the place for the Tabernacle has to be properly & appropriately ornated/decorated (which is not always the case)

  • Sorry that was from me again.

  • Christ Is Risen - Indeed He is Risen !

I love "The Strife is O'er".

  • Hallelujah.
