and back in the day....that church was solid.....yal mite as well play gucci or other secular music...dancing around....yal watch too much tye tribbett ......and all that crap.......i dnt have a heaven or hell to put u in but if i did.............. wat a friend we have in jesus...we are soldiers...amazing grace....pass me not.....at the cross just a closer walk wth thee...remember that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......smh
Church folks are so busy judging, competing that most forget to use the common sense God gave us. It's impossible to meet the spiritual needs of saints and future saints with just one style. Personally, give me a whooping/teaching preacher and songs like "Keep Me Everyday" and "It is Well" and look it if you are sitting next to me in church! However, I would never pass judgement against those churches who do it differently. It's about changing, not doing it one way. Go ahead, New olivet!!!
I don't think any of these people were at the Club that you frequently visit. Olivet has always been different, even under the Late Rev. KT Whakum Sr. People don't have to be a carbon copy of what one is accustomed to. God has people every where. So get real and let them Love JESUS their won way.
Hey there I'm a member of this wonderful church and can honestly say it has changed my life in a most awesome way,I love my church and I'm a member of this choir,I was up there on this day,sending olive love,peace!!!!
there are somethings that i can deal with when it comes to church - then there's New Olivet...i personally wouldn't visit there to cure boredom...the musicians turn the Lord's Holy place into a glorified "nightclub" atmosphere.
Well you obviously have some interest in it if you are searching for us on youtube. maybe the church isnt for you. well for the congregation including the teens and children it is and it has helped us all in our everyday life. He doesnt hoop and holler he says it in a way we can comprehend. My pastor is a wonderful man and pastor and if you dont like it sounds like a personal problem

When the sprit of the lord fell upon David he danced until his clothes FELL OFF, so dont sit there with that holier than thou attitude and say "then there is New Olivet" Praise comes in all different styles and sounds and i thank you Jesus that these young people are praising your name.
Faith without works is dead! Not what I say, that's what the Bible says. Singing and dancing are okay but the bible says be doers of the word, not just praisers and hearers. I could care less about all this showmanship and emotion. This society is in a mess and all the singing and dancing in the world is not going to save souls, deliver anyone or help the community. Preachers like this get on my nerves. It's entertainment. Christians are some of the most hypocritical people on earth.
@HammondBishop You have clearly been taught that the Eupropean form of solemn (ordered/hymnal) worship is the ONLY way to worship. African American worship derives from West Africa/Carribean and includes European influences. We sing, dance, move, clap, holler, scream, wave. It's all a part of the culture. Dont be fooled that one way to worship is the BEST or only way. It's about reaching people. Everybodys not going to be saved with a Hymn. Learn to appreciate it all.
