Wouldn't that mean this person was making the music for money and not because they enjoy it? I don't think I want to support a person like that, anyway. I'm here because I'm trying out this guy's music to see what it sounds like and if I like it. If he's in town, I'll buy a ticket, and if I see a CD for sale, I'll probably hand over the cash for it. And just so you know, producers are becoming less and less common in music now. So quit thinking this is a bad thing, it's a free ad!
ha this is funny cause both mastercon and bxlfr3 are huuuuge musci snobs i mean just listen to them. just listen to the tune and dont get so worked up about what people have to say. i dont even think its that great of a tune bit too minimal for my liking. :)
My policy these days is that there is absolutely no reason that I should have to get an annoying piece of plastic physically shipped to me in the modern world. CDs are a (very!) obsolete format and I just refuse to play that game. If the MP3 is on Amazon, I'll buy it, but this isn't. Oh well, looks like industry lost another potential customer by refusing to modernize. I can still get the mp3, I just don't have any way to pay for it, and I simply don't care if that attitude is morally wrong.
Actually, you know what, I partially take that back: there are probably other reputable sites that sell MP3s. I've looked before, but it was years ago, and maybe I should look again. I might be able to find some of the things I couldn't find before.
@bxlfr3 do you want to argue that? Do you even have any idea what you are saying? Do literally any amount of research, and you will see that CD's vary wildly in quality, and many are completely lossless. Which is as good as you can get, which is generally better than vinyl, unless you let it spin in some sort of air-tight vacuum.
@MASTERCON12 That's becaue we don't have the same criteria for judging audio quality. You obviously seem to be fully focussed on the whole technological precision meaning of audio quality. I focus more on the pleasure to the ear meaning of audio quality. Probably less sharp than a CD but with a much more warmer sound. Ever wondered why some of the best german minimal labels (which generally do not mess with audio engineering) only edit vinyls ?
@bxlfr3 You're a funny guy. I don't "deserve" a type of music because of the medium it is presented in? You are the biggest hipster/elitist snob I have met on the internet, and that is saying a lot. Congratulations.
@MASTERCON12 not because of the medium, because of your stupid twelve year old anti-bourgeoisie fluo rebel way of thinking, Mr. " Power to the people". i am an elitist and glad to be one. At least i won't end up with the latest crookers CD on my I-pod.
@MASTERCON12 Considering the pretty simple kind of vocabulary i used, that would make me a four year old child, and therefore unable to even log on to my computer.... So yes i do fully understand my own comments. Bottomline of this all : i consider CDs as the symbol of the boxed-in music industry, made for people who don't even feel like doing the least bit research for quality music.
@bxlfr3 Anti-bourgeoisie? You didn't know what bourgeoisie meant when you were four. That doesn't even make sense with the rest of your statement. If anything, by your definition, I would be pro-bourgeoisie.
@MASTERCON12 my mother language is french so i did knew what that meant when i was four. And pro bourgeoisie people are generally not that pissed off at elitist hipsters like you said ( in fact, they generally are stupid hipsters themselves). And also, i would like to know in what world the notions of "rebelion" "twelve year old" and "power to the people" are not related with the notion of anti bourgeoisie.
I look at it this way. When you download (torrent) something from the interwebs, I believe it's more like receiving a gift than stealing.
Someone posts a copy of something they bought themselves and gives it to you as a gift. And when it comes to songs it could be just to hear the artist to see if they're really worth paying money for. It's no different than giving a friend of yours an old CD you don't listen to. The world wont come to an end.
well can't find it in iceland, and a don't own a credit card so I can't buy it over the internet.
but don't get me wrong I like buying the CDs makes me feel better :D(plus it's cooler actually own the cd not only in my laptop) but if I have a hard time finding what I want or I'm broke, illegal downloading has to do it :/
It annoys me when people dont pay for music when they fully well can, but after "urr"s reply, i understand his argument. However, you just butted in with your pointless and irrelevent input, achieving absoultely nothing.
Oh yes, and on your next comment, try and use correct grammer - there was no need for a question mark in your first comment. Just a suggestion, you stupid cunt.
Basically, your entire argument stems from using foul language and being overly aggressive, hoping the receiver backs down under your thuggish slants, and attacking grammar (albeit FAILING utterly) because of your lack of understanding what i said. FAIL argument is FAIL.
I'm sorry but who are you? what are you trying to achieve by butting in and telling me that i am a "dumbass"? I admit, i got a bit irrational in my argument with dezzlepwns, but we both had a point. You on the other hand, are completely irrelevent and feel the need to add your pointless input, out of nowhere. please dont reply to this, i don't care what you think.
Pirating is merely making a copy - not stealing. Therefore, I love an artist so much I would love to copy what he makes so I can listen to it at my leisure.
making a copy is stealing, because you're stealing away royalties that the artist would have received if you bought it. In saying this, i'm not going to buy these songs, cause i'd be flat broke within a week. but my thoughts are the artist would prefer to have people listening to their music, as opposed to not at all, even if people don't pay for them.
@themagiquesock The artists usually get shit profit from album sales as many cuts are made because of the producer and the other people involved with the music. Besides, artists today make a good chunk of their money through concerts and live performances. I'd rather support the artist going to their live shows these days anyways.

Correcting myself again, this one IS on Amazon. I was looking in the wrong place. God, their site is badly organized these days.

@Xezlec Minus the fact that mp3's sound like shit, and CD's don't.

@MASTERCON12 dude CD's are just as lame in terms of sound quality as the mp3 format. The only reliable audio support was, is and always will be VINYL.
And i don't say this coz i am a vinyl listener i dont own any. but i've heard the difference and it's freaking obvious

@bxlfr3 The "best" german minimal labels use vinyl because they are hipsters and don't know any better.

@MASTERCON12 yeah sure buddy. As if vinyls were the most popular and money making audio support of todays music industry.
Go back mixing your new david guetta vs flo-rida compilation on your pioneer digital cd turntables, coz you don't deserve any better than that.
