  • n.i.g.g.e.r. :D

  • 0:10 Nick Cannon? :D

  • Haha the two snares at 0:30 didn't read the rule book.

  • cant when h20 gets to face cold steel again

  • Left hand shops are so good

  • Where's Devon Miles:$

  • whats the concept?

  • @SparklyMewy204 One Band One Sound

  • they suck

  • wheres nick cannon?

  • Omg I spotted my future husband 0.0

  • those basses sound like crap....

  • @PercussionChops the drumline sounds like crap ahha

  • check out travis barker

  • We are different! ......typo

  • Ok, as a former drum corps/DCI drummer I'd like to say, I'm glad some of you like DCI. But there's no need to cut on show band drumlines! No need to compare lines, we different. Hey A&T Lookin good. I was entertained.

  • OMG!! there is relly this school??! awesome! i saw the movie drumline and it was this sch!

  • @sweetmadien dude this is the north carolina a&t state university drumline. the school you saw in the movie drumline was a high school marching band that played as atlanta a&t which no such school exist. how ever there is a clark atlanta university. also the only schools in the movie drumline that are real were Bethune cookman, Grambling, Morris Brown and clark atlanta

  • @TheDragonmaster18 Clark Atlanta is actually in two scenes in the movie drumline- the first is during the homecoming scene where the fight breaks out. They gave the Clark drummers different uniforms because they didn't want to associate Clark Atlanta with a band with a bad reputation, they didn't want to associate their school with a band that starts a fight. the red uniforms you see there were alternates designed for Clark Atlanta.

  • @WPUpioneer oh ok. you know at first for some reason i thought that was tuskegee for some reason cause it kind of sort of looked similar to their uniform

  • @TheDragonmaster18 the director mentions it in his cut of the movie Drumline. the red uniforms were designed for Clark Atlanta last minute. they (the producers) wanted Clark to retain their original uniforms for the scene, then after the scene was shot, a drummer from Clark objected to using their uniforms to protect the school's reputation. therefore, Clark was given red uniforms for that scene.

  • @TheDragonmaster18 ...Gett'em right..that's what I'm talking about...these cats commenting on here must not be from Atlanta because if the were, they would have known that Atlanta A&T was a fake made up school, That band was a combination of Atlanta high school student, college students, even some from MoB...who audtioned and got major parts for the movies....Hah......lol...it's to funny....

  • @sweetmadien That movie does no justice to marching bands. If anything, it adds stereotypes. It completely ignores "One Band, One Sound". If you want to see what a marching band really does, Find Phantom Regiment's show "Spartacus". Or some of the videos of the drumline in the lot. Amazing.

  • What the hell is there a white guy doing there?

  • @pri27golfer whats so wrong about that??

  • @pri27golfer how do you know he ddnt come from the hood? just cause he's white doesnt mean he has to be on a white drumline that does nothing but play rudiments if this is what he likes let him enjoy it

  • @TheDragonmaster18 ... it was a joke, from the movie drumline.

  • @pri27golfer oh ok. its just that i hate it when people leave comments like that on HBCU band vids.

  • @pri27golfer maybe he's from the hood or maybe he's that one white guy that loves black people. lol

  • who gives a crap if its dirty, theyre having fun. thats pretty much all that matters. Like the old saying goes, if youre not having fun, youre doing it wrong.

  • need to wipe that dirt off your drum, boi

  • @Trapmaker677 you do realize this is the 2005 drumline right? check out their drum feature from the 2010 sprite botb

  • youtube.com/watch?v=6DDUzSxekiM

  • Dirty as hell...you might want to get that checked out before someone sees it. Lolllzzz...

  • i saw one white guy

  • @ChrisHobobin I saw two. One was hiding, and no wonder, he was a toehead...........No offense meant, you are all awesome! except for those who take offense at this comment. Then you suck.

  • @ChrisHobobin only cause they zoomed in on him lol

  • omg!

this is gonna sound like the stupidest statement ever BUT

    Omfg their real!! eep

ive only seen the movie drumline but didnt realise it was based around a REAL Drumline :O

i think ive just died an gone to film heaven drumlines like one of my faves

    Yay!

  • FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLE BEE!

  • @RandomHero486 dude this is not the a&t drumline from the movie. this is the real deal. check out the 2010 line

  • 0:05 he has a big head

  • fuckin sloppy

  • yea umm... this is horrible.... listen to some DCI ;]

  • lol! way too dirty.!

  • complete differnt style as drum corp but its dirty as fuck!! and the basses sound like shit put some bass foam in it it will get a heavier bass sound out and wond sound like ur hitting papper and for the tenors lower the shit out of the drums there like at the top of there belly horrable technique to

  • LMAO!

  • this is just like the movie....................dirty as shit!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible technique. im in high school and know better than to post this shit on youtube

  • @bcollier94 hahahahahahahaha!!!!! agreed

  • @mimamalol9 I know. im glad my band director doesn't make us do that

  • Why is it that these drumlines have 10+ snares, 10+ basses, 10+ toms, 10+ cymbals, and 2 quads???

  • didn't they use that in the movie

  • wondering if anyone knows anyone from the drumline. i'm a casting director in los angeles and i'm trying to find a drumline for a national tv commercial. would appreciate a call from anyone. i could definitely give you more details.

    thanks

  • @cestada look up blue devils.

  • wow, shitty drums, our drumline has better drums than that, and im on a high school line

  • In southern drumline its all about showing off not sounding clean what a waste.

  • @utubefanatic16 its not all southern drumlines. and im not being racist but it just the black drumlines.

  • Dirty Dirty Dirty!!!! Clean it up boys......

  • that was ass son all unorganized and they was messin up

  • them boys look like they goin through some hard times.... if u pledged anything you know what i mean!!!

  • the guy on the left end of the snare line is like the white guy in the movie drumline... he sticks out too much there

  • This is why I could never go to a historic black college....and I'm black.

  • @africanhustler05 thats not y...its because yuu frickin SUCK and dont have the talent to make an hbcu college drumline

  • @snare4lyfe08 I'm not talented to make that drumline? I don't think it takes that much talent. Matter of fact, it takes no talent at all...

  • @snare4lyfe08 If you want to see a real drumline play actual music......look up any DCI drumline. ANY of them.

  • ive marched both corp and show styles and their in two completely different worlds. show style has to be the most energy consuming but most fun u can ever have marching an insturment. corp style energy is all about tryin to make precision fun on music that let's be honest here most of the ppl that march show bands dont even bump can you get into the music real good if u play some bobby brown or some new jack? yeah can u do the same wit vesuvius? hell no. it's all about the music styles.

  • that sounded horrible, coming from a drum line member myself!

  • the movie made them sound better

  • @samsungfan1041 well yea, studio recorded audio lol duuhh hhaha

  • @samsungfan1041 o yea, and this is north carolina a&t, atlanta a&t in the movie was based on this skool, but not actually a real college n the movies uniforms were inspired from a diff college, idr the neme though

  • what the hell are YOU talking about? this is not energy this is dancing. Drum corps play with energy, and you obviously have not been to dci and not seen a show. every dci ive been to AND played at everybody looked and sounded entertained. honestly bro you dont know what your talking about, trying to say corps dont entertain is the stupidest thing ive ever heard... go and watch the blue devils 2009 show or any other show from any other corp since dci started and tell me thats not musicanship? ha

  • @tollhouseballer DCI is full of musicianship but again remember these are two diff styles. I personally agree with theDragonmaster18 on the fact of energy. Yes, DCI plays with energy but energy that a DCI crowd likes to see. i wouldnt doubt that people who know nothing about musicianship would like DCI energy but I believe that they would get more of a "hype" feeling when listening to an HBCU drumline. TWO DIFFERENT STYLES. TWO DIFFERENT ATTITUDES. and nothing is wrong with either or...........

  • @alika92 i think what it comes down to is southern colleges are just a small step up from a high school marching band, all their there to do is to get the crowd going. drum corps are performing to be scored and learn what they should do to make their show better before world championships. drum corpsperform for a tittle and for the people that follow really enjoy the shows and understand how much work corps do to put on their show. all im trying to say is corps are at a way higher level

  • @tollhouseballer It really all depends on the college you are looking at. HBCUs have to memorize new music everyweek and new drills all the time. its not as easy as it looks. i understand where you are coming from when you refered to winning titles. DCI is on a whole new level. But two different styles. two different attitudes. you should go to a A&T game/performance. It is really a joy to see!

  • Black university drumlines and drumcorps come from completely different backgrounds. 2 different cultural passtimes that somehow are always getting compared. im a dci freak for sure but i realize that A&T, Hampton, Brown, Grambling, etc do what they do to please crowds, not professional percussion judges. and not too many football fans care about dirty rolls.

  • dirt much?

  • Dirtfest 2005

  • so dirty D:

  • this suck

  • Another thing that sucks, this drumline sucks..

  • Who cares if they are good musicians or not. The movie inspired a lot of people to play drums and that is all that it really matters. Peace

  • showstyle people dont hate on dci stuff cuz they aint worried them, we dont focus on hate, dci hate cuz they think they all that, go ahead and talk shit, we aint listenin when we out killin it every halftime, post, and after games, ur words come through...showstyle give no hate cuz we love what we do and we dont go out and screw wit other bands jus to make us feel better, we got all the confidence right here in our hearts. We play and not critize music.

  • @bandgeek1mbd dayum ! you told him right bro ! but i have to admit DCI is better but your point is true as hell.lol

  • I agree alot

  • um have you ever watched DCI obvioualy not cuz drum corps international is perfection. thats what a drumline is playing claean and looking good problems with this line:No mark time when playing ever, no subdividing(dutting), no technique, its like eating pasta with ketchup instead of tamato sauce its just not good lol

  • @MrObsnareline why is it whenever you go to a dci video you dont EVER see someone from a showstyle band posting ignorant, negative comments, but whenever you go to a show style video ignorant people like you and alot of other dci individuals decide to post these comments. if you havent found out yet DCI is not the only type of bands/drumlines around! perfection is great but down in NC its about pleasing a football crowd. no one wants to see DCI at a football game

  • @alika92 says who? don't think just because you don't want to that no one else wants to.. that and saying DCI isn't about crowed pleasing is about as ignorant as you're trying to make DCI supporters out to be.

  • @alika92 i can name a shit ton of people who would love to see DCI at a football game, buttttt they dont play for football games...

  • @MrObsnareline lol pasta wit tomato ketchup. lmao

  • Shut that DCI bull up i play at a college that does hybrids dont let the dancin fool you thats for entertainment but we can chop at the same time. just mad cause nobody cares about that borin and weak stuff

  • you are all a bunch of losers talking about that "their so stiff! they suck! DCI has the best drumline!" i mean who argues over that... just say you don't like it and get over it!

  • Comment removed

  • I THOUGHT IT WAS TO

  • lolz i thought this was the actual movie!!!

  • @ciarajca25 nah theres a white guy on snare

  • @ciarajca25 the band used iin the movie was actually a high school band.. sw dekalb

  • Tenors special effects are off. Thats all i have to say. Idk if its a new kid just bad day bad recording all i wanted to say is that. and other than that its straight i didnt really hear anyother problems not the best sound quality so i cant really nit pick oranything but good job guys

  • They're at the same skill level of the players in the Drumline movie. Look at their left strokes, so stiff!

  • They mite not be the best but they still kold. Thatz a good cadence they playin.

  • that is asome

  • what the hell is this comedy.

  • wheres devin

  • can any1 tell me whats harder between snare or tenors (quads)

  • its equal..if ur on a good drumline...every instrument is hard

  • tenors and snare generally have if not the same, similar sticking. but, tenors go around the drums and they also have cross overs which makes them more challenging to play. snare in my opinion is only hard if you aren't good at traditional grip.

  • actually depends what you preffer... but have their own technicalities and difficulties. you'd have to play both for about a year each to really tell. For me, anyway

  • ohmygod! it's nick cannon!

    ohmygod! it's nick cannon again!

ohmygod! there's so many nick cannon's!

  • i can not tell you how racist that is i am hugley offended by thank reason being im in the current A7T drumline so let me tell you from the bottom of my heart FUCK YOU GO SUCK A DICK

  • guess what. im black! lol if you are on the real A & T drumline, please and i am being respectful to you personally as a drummer, go watch drum corps! cavaliers 08 phantom 06 and 03 please man please you guys need to change the image of this college drumline because this is not talent. this is all show and no go

  • what sucks is people would actually think this is cool. too bad musicians know it was dirty as hell, sloppy, out of tune and in general not at all put together well. but hey they got a movie out of it. thank god for people like us that go to drumcorps and actually play well without throwing our bodies around like were trying to hump the drum lol.

  • Amen Brotha. Unfortunately im a woodwind. I wish i was inspired by this first rather than that jazz band that came to my elementary school. I would of totally be a perccusionist or a brass intrument. probably trumpet or french horn.

  • and thats a college line. my high school could wipe the floor with them musically AND visually.

  • lol tell me about it, mine was best bass line in the southern 6 states, 2nd best overall and state champs for the last 10 years. lol

  • just check out northern california drumlines...

  • @AckAttack77 dude thats just what they do in the stands wait till you see them on the feild

  • if your high school is so much better why you watchin this then

  • @matt98stang drum corps is great but everybody has different opinions and differents styles. dont think that dci is the only type of bands that are around. dci is great with performing arts full of education and musicality...but at a&t is just another style dude. humping a drum.? is that really all you see them doin..being in a show style band is not as easy as you think it is...dont look down towards something that you dont know anything about !!!

  • @matt98stang the movie wasnt about their drumline infact they werent even in it. besides drumcorps wont even fit in a black crowd. they will get booed coming on during and coming off the field. i know cause it happened to my high school band and it was our side booing us

  • @matt98stang BRING IT HOME SANTA CLARA!! Hahaha go drum corps!

  • @eggmaster40 haha hell ya!

  • @matt98stang if it is so bad, why do so many people like it? If the aim of this kind of stuff was to look good infront of other professionals then fine but it isn't. the point is to entertain everyone else and in my opinion, this was achieved.

  • @MakeEasyWoWGold i agree with you somewhat about entertainment but again from my view as a musician, as a drummer, ive been taught by by phantom and a few guys from carolina crown, and i would be embarassed if my previous line sounded this dirty. if your performing for a musically uneducated crowd then this is fine to them because they know no better, but if you let them see for example the 08 cavaliers or 06 PR show then they might like find that drumlines are better than this.

  • @matt98stang Hey i am a musician as well, and i didnt find anything wrong with this, i find people like you negative nit picking on every little detail when all that matters if they make a sound and rhythm that an average people can appreciate and enjoy, and according to you thats what there doing =D

  • @MrScramble Im not negative nit picking, i was taught every time i put on my drum and uniform to be the very best, no dirt, no choppiness, be the best because nothing else is acceptable. I understand the average person appreciating this but im speaking from a professional point of view. If i have my snare or bass or tenors on its game time, professional time because the average person will be impressed regardless, but to impress a judge or experinced percussionist is what I'm doing on the field.

  • @matt98stang are you drumcorp ppl ever gonna realize that its a different style? i guess not ur idiots and close-minded ppl

  • @LHSBassDrummer the day that being dirty becomes a style is the day i'll stop playing drums, there are all kinds of styles out there and i appreciatr all of them as long as there good.

  • @matt98stang ummm im pretty sure its a style if millions of ppl enjoy watching showband drumlines... thanks..bye.

  • @LHSBassDrummer thanks bye?? any 5 year old with drum sticks and an ipod can play the bass rythym to a lil wayne song in about 5 seconds, if playing like a child is a style you can go ahead and think that. playing split hertahs, 30 second note splits in perfect rythym down a bass line is impressive. playing almost anything clean on a double snare with 9 other snares is hard, same goes for tenors. im sorry but im not impressed by mediocrity. cool you made a beat you heard on the radio...wow...

  • @matt98stang hey asshole go watch bcu's drumline or morris brown. clean as fuck. just go especially bcu rite now go watch

  • @LHSBassDrummer morris brown isnt bad at all, but still not that clean ive been lookig for about an hour and havnt found a video that wasnt a lil dirty, bcu is ok but most of this stuff sounds like warm ups like triplet diddle or something the tenors for morris brown are good though. but i made a comment about a&t. maybe if they would look proffesional when out on the lot or more people would pay attention but i do hear dirt, and im sick as hell of hear basses only playing boom boom. splits????

  • @matt98stang well a&t sucks im trying to tell u they dont speak for showbands

  • @LHSBassDrummer A&t def doesnt suck..get it straight

  • @matt98stang yeah... im a snare tech at a middle school... and my kids would burn these guys. a couple of the kids on my snare line already have flam drags, cheeses, and flam fives down. their probly 13 or 14 years old? haha these guys prolly dont even have all their rudiments down

  • @tollhouseballer lol i beleive you

  • @tollhouseballer dont say what you dont know....dont judge a book by its cover

  • @tollhouseballer they have to have their rudiments down in order to get on the line. these type of bands do what the crowd wants to see and hear not judges. their band competitions are based on the audiences reaction judges could care less how they sound as long as the crowd is entertained.

  • @matt98stang You should be ashamed of yourself. What a horrible way to represent DCI.

  • @jsalas89 i do apologize for language and realize i should have had a more professional tone but ive just about had enough of people saying oooooo thats so coool dawg thats the best drumming out therez! without any form of what drumming is about.

  • @jsalas89 you just dont understand. these guys get way to much recognition then they deserve. Ive been on a snare line for 6 years for school and i was on a independent winter percussion ensemble this winter and i plan on doing BD next summer. I played at a higher level in MIDDLE school. The things these guys are playing is such a beginner level its not even funny. so in the end these guys shouldnt be getting all the WOWS... all the corps in DCI should! cus none of em get the respect they deserv

  • @tollhouseballer 150% agreed, you said it all

  • @tollhouseballer dude corps and show are to do different things corps dont please crowds like showbands do. i respect both styles but i always prefer show style bands over corps because they have fun with it. and you cant even compare a college band to a dci band they are two different styles have an open mind. corps dont even play with energy like showstyle bands a real musician feels his music corps donpt they all about sounding perfect it ends up sounding boring.

  • @matt98stang maybe its because some people want to see entertainment rather then playing the same show everygame...im sorry to tell you but DCI is not the only style around...yea they got a movie because majority of people dont see an entertaining way of how to make a dci movie!! dont call these cats bad musicians just because what you see them do at football games...they have their own style as you do yourself..they play what the crowd wants to see...

  • @alika92 im not calling them bad musicians for what they play, but how they play. music is music and if your on a DCI line or college line you should be able to play something as simple as this, clean. in regards to the amount of people who see the different "styles", people from all over the world come to see dci, some people wont travel even 50 miles to see A&T. i know the difference between college and DCI but a drummer should always strive for the best, and thats cleanliness with the band

  • @matt98stang 50 miles ?!! are you serious.?!! nah dude people from all over the world respect a&t... a main one being germany!!! youre right a drummer should always strive for the best but you gotta look at this was 5 years ago! look at them now! they definitely dont suck in this vid and are better then ever now! im just sick of the fact whenever you go on a dci vid or corps vid noone is dissin anyones STYLE!!! but as soon as a showstyle vid comes up HATERS strive to bring down ones head!

  • @matt98stang hold on now, you are comparing apples and oranges. The philisophical views of both the drumcorps and show bands thirst for two different crowds.

This is probably more to do with culture, check out some crazy Japanese marching bands. I have great respect for both styles of marching band. I myself marching in a drumcorps style band.

  • @matt98stang dude the movie was not about them. they werent even in it. it was a high school along with clark atlant state band playing the a&t band that was in the movie. and besides these type of bands are made to entertain the crowd not put them to sleep. learn more about hbcu bands before you bag on them

  • @TheDragonmaster18 i watched and have reviewed a&t seperate from the movie, and have based my opinion on the real version of a&t, and i am not impressed, entertainment i can understand, sloppiness and humping a drum i dont find entertaining at all, honestly its kind of embarassing i would think to do that in front of proffesionals. and yes i do mean DCI, i am not biased but i know the difference between dirty and clean

  • @matt98stang you cant make a judgement based on a cadence that you heard on youtube this is just a cadence. and i dont know if you know this but showbands are more popular than dci bands. i didnt find out about dci until my senior year in high school. and all showbands arenot like a&t take a look at norfolk state virginia state or florida a&m university. if you look at these schools you can get a different perspective look. look up famu playing malaguenia

  • @matt98stang Just because you know a little bit of musical theory stop acting like a fucking idiot.

  • @matt98stang Just because you know a little bit of BASIC musical theory stop acting like a fucking idiot. If you don't want to watch this video, don't fucking watch it you little shit.

  • @MrTrajjj a little bit?? thats what i did for all of high school and colege, AND i've taught it. so i know what i'm talking about, and if i go to a video after watching the movie and want to get my own opinion on it, i'm entitled to that opinion. little shit? lol

  • @matt98stang that was whack ur also whack and ignorant this aint ment for competitions its for entertaining the crowd so hop off hater

  • @snare4lyfe08 how am i ignorant? i know whats clean and whats dirty and this was bullshit for a drumline.

  • what school is this?

  • North Carolina A&T University

  • wow the playing was so dirty lol and learn to play the music right before adding visuals

  • um that kinda sucked

  • when i grow up i wanna be just like them(; for real. ha

  • well then you wanna be a suck ass drummer...

  • haha

  • lol sarcasm dude.

  • Wow, tuck that pinky in!!
