  • Tackling any Rush tune is quite a task & you've pulled this one off quite nicely. Red Barchetta is one of my favs...

  • @YManCyberDude ......thanks for that, much appreciated.

  • saw rush in 77 at the paramount theater in portland oregon. that was an awesome show; thanks for the reminder!

  • @troutdaletim ...yeah, first is usually the best. I saw them on the Moving Pictures tour,,,,never forget it.

  • Nice! Solid. Love to do a Rush cover band...

  • @JeffHallPlaysFenders ....cheers, yep thats one thing I missed out on!

  • Very nice...as usual!

  • @golfdom1987 ...thanks for that.

  • Don't take this the wrong way, but do you ever sense that you're pushing ahead of the tempo slightly? Nice playing...and cool guitars!

  • sounds great, saw rush once live and they rocked.

  • @nitts90210 ....thanks. Yeah, they are a bit special live.

  • Phaser needs to go, but otherwise, flawless as far I can tell.

  • @happenstance314 ....yeah, tend to get carried away with fx, but thanks.

  • Awesome, have you done In the End or anything from Fly by Night? would love to hear it

  • @xDroflmao1337 Thanks, appreciate it! Yep, check out my other covers.

  • Thumbs up !

  • Sounds great! Love the song and the cover.

  • @anynamewillification ...thanks for that!!

  • I live in Chiapas a state in southern Mexico.

So it will be dificult to make a band, but i´d like to.

Because here just a few people notice that rush exist.

  • @vlaulianov ...yeah, might be difficult, I live in the UK!!

  • U r good man

I would like to make a band with u,

i play the bass guitar and love RUSH.

  • @vlaulianov .....thanks for that. Where in the world are you?

  • Great, dude...

  • i've noticed alot of your RUSH interpertations are right on note and chords key etc. but noone on here sounds like Lifeson but Lifeson but your close. you also have the same mannerisms like my friend who moved a few years ago to Fla. we started playing the guitar at the same time. I just wanna thank you for posting and and for some of to have a point of reference to see if we're on the same page. keep up the good work

  • @sndrman ...thanks for commenting, yeah, its easier to spend more time trying to get the tone right than to play learning the song.

  • whenever i get ready to figure out a song by RUSH i always try to find a cover by you. I have seen 10 dfrnt ways to cover the same song but with tab and with "ear" you sound to be right on. Alex is not an easy guitarest i just finished La Villa and it takes a great musicain to make a song like that. I'm sorry i don't know your name of what city your from but you remind me of a frind of mine who moved to Fla. we started playing guitar asround the same time but anyways you have the sme mannerism

  • @hearts4life99 .....cheers for the comments.

  • Awesome... My favorite song since 1982 and you covered it great!

  • @minuteman3 ....Great driving song..... and thanks for saying so.

  • Great job buddy, I've enjoyed all of your videos- from one Rush fan to another, cheers!

  • @TheTor ....thanks for saying so....cheers!

  • Great thanks so much.

  • @metalfiend124 ....no worries, just good fun playing this stuff.

  • I love Rush....and this is one of my favorite numbers...I like cars too....and this is a great driving song...You have done it justice....I like it without the vocals now too...course I sing along anyways....Great Post, and great rendition!!!

  • @nascargas ...cheers for that! Yeah, I used to play this all the time when I was a lot younger and had a red MGB GT.

  • phaser?

  • ...just a touch.

  • Great job. I've been watching a lot of your videos, and was wondering what tabs/sheet music you used for the Rush covers. Did you just find it online, or do you have songbooks?

  • ....mainly by ear, but I use anything that gives an indication, DVD's, tab books, Pro Guitar etc.

  • i noticed that you were palm muting the D string during the break. i don't mean to knitpick, just when you play that part let the D string ring out while vamping on those three chords. otherwise your a great player and i enjoy your videos of these rush songs.

  • ,,,thanks for that.

  • you are a great musician

  • .....very kind of you.

  • nice job. a little rough going into the break, but otherwise a nice cover of this rush classic.

  • Thanks...nice one to jam to.

  • Haha, by the look on your face i don't think you were too happy with that solo. =p

    Anyways, well done.

  • nice job. those harmonics in the beginning are kinda killer tho

  • cheers

  • Sweet

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • CHEERS!!!!

  • The Harmonmics are the hard part for me at the beginning, but you didn't seem to have any trouble with them. Nice Job. And also the first little bit of the solo is difficult for me. How do learn all of these songs???!!!

  • cheers.....with a lot of time and patience!

  • Fav, rush song. Great job

  • cheers...yeah, I love palying this

  • just wondering, how easy is this song

    great job, by the way

  • depends on your own standard....but its not complex

  • I noticed that you deviated from the sheet N.H. for the second part of the intro. I like what you've done here, I can only get the natural harmonics to ring from the sheet music on a couple of settings, please let me know where you got that second part from.

  • I watched AL play it...give me your email addess if you want me to tab it.

  • I would like to see this tab and mbaye a slow version some of the main riffs sounds awesome

  • where did u get the drum track? did you make it?

  • Excellent. Thanks for posting. RJ

  • I'm trying to learn this now, but I suck.

You are godly, though. And I love the epiphone. I play epiphone, and that one looks like a black version of the one Alex used during Fly by Night!

  • Cheers......yeah, thats why I bought the black Dot, looked so cool when I saw a ES335 on a AL photo with all his guitars behind him.....cant remeber where that was now.

  • Oh, it IS a dot? I thought it looked like one, but it kind of has some weird features, as far as looks go. Well, good luck on future endeavors.

    -Andy.

  • Excellent Job Dude!

  • Lol that solo is tricky, I fumbled around it for sooo long before I got it. Your guitar sounds pretty damn good, thats probably the closest thing I've heard to Alex's tone from anyone on youtube... Good work mate :)

  • ...yeah tell me about the solo, took me an age as well. Cheers for the comments.

  • As always, the MIDI is ok :)

    Concerning the Phasing... just jocking

    Timing is Live;

Damn, you are making me _nervous_

I mean, that is so great.

Anyway, pretty sure a lot is & will post

positive that you Master your Guit&Will

    Fantastic And Beautiful as Usual

    ~Al Biss

  • hi tryer0011...thanks for all your feedback/comments, really glad you enjoy these covers!

  • If I had the chance to meet somebody like you, let's say, 15 years ago, ...

Just to think about that gives me the chills.

Anyway, this was my 3rd from you and I'm counting.

Thanks for giving the world a right feeling.

    I mean it.

    ~Al Biss

  • What if 1 could ?

    What if 1 would ?

    Well One did.

    ~Al Biss

P.S. The MIDI parts are ok. No regrets.

  • BRAVO BRAVO ..well done

  • is that a fender g-dec amp?

  • no, it was palyed thru a Flextone III.

  • I think you're worthy of an actual Gibson

  • ...maybe, but way too much money!!

  • Nice job! You have some really nice sound. Just wondering what kind of amp your using and brand of effects.

  • This was played through a Flextone III, combi, so FX are all in the amp. I am now using a H&K Switchblade, again a combi amp, as I cant be bothered with loads of stomp boxes!

  • like lifeson is ;)

  • You obviously have some sort of stomp box, how did you get the different effects from clean to dirty without one? And more than that, what are the settings on the amp and the distortion settings? We're all just searching for that Lifeson tone!! and there is no info on the net and YOU have it nailed!!

  • ...this was played through a flextone III, so its a combi amp, so i was switching between channels. I'm now using a H&K Switchblade, which is a "tube" combi.

  • hey man, where do you get these midi tracks? What software? Can you describe for me your play-a-long practice setup? Thank you! Rock on brother.

  • tough song to cover, nice job i play it differently though

  • Dang, your rush covers are so amazing.. Makes me wish I could play :(((

  • thanks for that....nothing stopping you???

  • this video was the inspiration for me to post a red barchetta cover! awesome indeed!

  • I love this song, especially the harmonics. I know most of it but its kind of hard to get the right sound. Great solo by the way!

  • I love this song, I know most of it, some parts are hard to get just right though. (like the part around 1:36, i know it but it just doesnt sound right). I love the harmonics on this song too. Great solo by the way!

  • HAHAH AWESOME! I sang aloud to this! Lol! Great job ma, as always, you surely have a gift!

  • super awesome!!

  • I really enjoy listening to your rush covers, you sound great!

Covering all those Rush songs is no easy task at all either, major props to you!

  • thanks...yeah, its certainly a challenge

  • how many gutairs do u have ??

  • 6 at this moment in time

  • .....mmmm, dont think so! I've owned both Epi's and Gibsons, very little difference. A own a sublime Epi LP, that betters my USA Gibson...and i would rather have the variety of 3 or 4 guitars for the price of one Gibson.

  • How long have you been playing??

Awesome job, Started playing after a 28 year rest, its like starting over but coming back fast.

  • ...playing seriously for the last 3 years i.e. putting in hours of practise!!

  • How long have you been not seriously?? Basicly when did you EVER start guitar?

  • ...in my teens, played 3 chords, gathered dust, played 3 chords etc. etc....

  • How long have you been playing total? like whe nwas the first time you ever started to play guitar?

  • great playing! one of my favourite songs.

    what amp are you using?

  • thanks...this was played through a Flextone III, now replaced with a H&K Switchblade!

  • Awesome job man, this is a real good choice of song to play its one of my favorites.

  • Hy man your really good dont stop

  • nice work. I may have to try that again, I played that years ago but forgot it now.... I used to use stereo chorus and reverb.... a fun song!

  • yeah...i like the variation of this song

  • great job! i can play the whole song just not as well.been pleaying for a little more that a year. keep up the good work

  • Do you have any single brothers? :)

  • ...yeah, an identical twin (my alter ego!)...but you wouldn't want to meet him!!

  • How about "Roll The Bones?" lol

  • yep....its on the list (which is getting longer all the while!)

  • Great job.I'm learning this song right now,so it's cool to see that I'm not too far off. What's that you're using?A flanger?

  • yeah, bit of flanger on this one

  • Great job on this song.I'm learning that song right now and watching your fingers on the fretboard it looks like I'm on the right track.I think I'll bookmark your video for future reference.

  • Love it man!! What great song writers those guys were/are!

  • hey man youre great, i understand you use guitar pro 5 ..some chords in that program are wrong definitely man..what can i do to play like you do dude... you got the vibe ...and thats hard to find friend.. congratulations for it..|

  • thanks for the kind words....yeah, i only really use pro 5 for the backing track, its not really that accurate, best to go with the flow and follow the master (Lerxst!!)

  • Please make lesson videos for all Rush songs you know !!

  • I would love to if I had the time...nut doubt I will. May do a couple in the new year though.

  • Great work! Thanks, i love this song and i love thsi disc! You are massively talented!

  • appreciate it!

  • are you married? lol

  • yeah!...very happily!

  • She is VERY lucky to have found such a rock star!!

  • WIP???

  • work in progress

  • Sheer quality mate. why don't you do Vital Signs guitar parts?

  • thanks....V signs and Freewill are both WIP!

  • Sais it before about this bloke..genius and a great player with lovely tone! Why don't you try Freewill

  • If I had a Rush cover band I'd take you in heartbeat.

  • Rush really wrote some great stuff and you do it justice with your own style. Nice.

  • Nice fucken job! Rush rocks!

  • Wow, that was a marathon! Thank you so much for sharing it

  • Well done.

I'm a beginner still but I thought that this song would be easy enough for me. The clean part which comes after the harmonics is just awful. I just cant press the strings down, I hate Alex :P

    Any hints on that part?

  • ...sounds like you need to build up some strength in you fingers, just keep practising and it wil come, or get one of those squeezy ball things???

  • Well yeah my mum has that kind of thing. Haven't really used it but I guess I should :P Or then I have to keep playing Metallicas Jump in the Fire a lot :P

  • the harmonics at the start were sweet.great job man

  • awesome purely awesome dude that was breath taking i luv this song 5/5

  • ...thanks, really appreciate the feedback! Even I was quite pleased with this one!

  • great great work!!!

  • awesome!

  • awesome man keep rockin

  • were is the pinch harms they make it sound good

  • why don't any of your vids have vocals?

  • they are all midi files, so the track is made up of digital sounds.

  • It's all midi.

  • man this is very helpfully for me. u are very good thanks for up load this, Did you made the backgroud too?

  • thanks...no its a pro guitar 5 midi.

  • nice harmonics at the beginning, awesome

  • Good Shit Man!

  • Excellent playing and good sound quality. From one guitar player to another: I was never the same after I heard Hemispheres; my parents probably wondered how I could listen to Moving Pictures so often.

  • yeah, i was the same! the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up when Tom Sawyer kicks in!

  • Rush is my favorite band and your covers are simply AWESOME. Would you please tell me where I might be able to find backing tracks like you are using for the drums, synth, etc. I got a long way to go before I play as good as you. Keep positn more please

  • ....Guitar Pro 5 (GP tabs), I use 911tabs wsebsite.

  • Tone is nailed on this one! Bitchin ending!

  • Glad you liked it...love the live outro they do on this.

  • Wow great. Red Barchetta's a fun song to play, though it's really tricky.

  • You did a really nice job on a great song!

  • thanks for the feedback, appreciated.

  • are you playing thru your cpu?

  • ..no, through my Flextone III amp.

  • muito bom cara...treina mais um pouco que vais ficar "O Cara".

    manda bala.
