  • Thanks man, much appreciated!!!!

  • My 3GS says "No Service" after searching the signal! Can you pls let me know where I can buy the kit to pull the 3GS apart?

  • @nanduwanted24 "No Service" is a differnt error completely to this. This video is for the "No Sim Inserted" error.

  • my sim holder doesnt reach the pins, what do i do ? :s, i just changed the back cover if thats for some help?

  • @bunnyracist You can if the phone case is so badly out of shape stick a bit of plastic on the bottom of the simcard tray to make it reach the pins. However only you will know how big that piece needs to be!

  • omg thankyou so much it worked!!!! thumbs up

  • @AussiesOutback Brill, Im glad you're all sorted! ;)

  • You're a champ, thanks mate :)

  • @locstoc72 No worries! Glad it helped!

  • What exactly is t you do to the pins I can't really make it out?

  • i have a jailbroken 3gs blacklisted for sale in australia

  • Will best buy do this for you?and can they remove dust?

  • @huftonURmom No they won't. Sorry.

  • thanks soo much fixd my problem also after the fall of my iphone thanks mate!!!! :)

  • @uni06 No worries! Glad It works for you too.

  • You are awesome my friend.....my phone is now fixed....YAY!!!!

  • @flavaglaze Brilliant! :)

  • Mine has lost network I tempered with cydia. Help pliz

  • great, fixed my phoblem!

  • My only problem with my 3GS it turns on than in few mins it restart it self how can I fix it so it won't keep restarting it self

  • @GameSlayerAl42 The issue you speak of is fixed with a new battery install. Its a common 3Gs Issue,

  • HELP!!!!!!!!! I want to switch to iphone from the blackberry, i insert my blackberry sim(o2) and it says no sim installed, ive tried everything it wont work. Its not the iphones problem because my sister sim card still works in it (o2 aswell). Then i put my black berry sim back into my blackberry and it works fine. Why the fuck wont it work? Please respond thank you.

  • @iDuNdEexuK Sounds like the Simcard in question is a pay as you go and the phone only accepts contract sim cards, you might want to look into unlocking the phone using an offical unlock method via O2. You can however Jailbreak the phone and unlock it using ultrasn0w in cydia but its alot harder than the first method, as O2 will just send you a text to unlock it for you. Its free to do either of those methods. I hope that helps!

  • @cunrah thanks for the reply mate, but my blackberry o2 sim card is on contract. Mate had the same problem and he just got a new sim card but he was pay as you go :S

  • kiiiiiiing!!!!!! i fucking love you man you just saved me from throwing my phone in the microwave !

  • @SuBMrksBeats No worries dude! Although I wouldnt ever recomment you put anything like a phone in the microwave! It works much better when you fix them ;)

  • I did this and it worked for me. But then i accidently dropped my phone very lightly on the floor (it didn't fall from a high height) and it started saying "No SIM" again... :S

  • @abusedcunt Sounds like you've either damaged it further after your fix, or you've snapped a sim pin on the logic board.

  • I had the same thine in my iPhone 3GS I fix it you do not not open your iPhone 3gs just buy I new simcard tray holder and it fix it and it's works

  • Awesome.. saved my bacon.. thank you

but i did cheat and just add selotape to the bottom of the simcard holder

so it would push the switch more. so didnt have to take it apart.

  • @madmanali This does work but I dont recomment it as the selotape can easily melt so be carefull!

  • Thanks man! I already placed my 3GS on ebay because it didnt recognize any simcards. I tried this at the very last moment and it works just like you said! +1

  • @DasDaan No problem! :)

  • Many thumbs up sir!

  • Thanks so much. I replaced the rear casing and encountered this problem. Soon fixed thanks to your guide. Thought I had really buggered the phone up.

    Cheers Pal.

  • @chris6210 No worries Chris! Glad I helped you out!

  • I only have 2 of the 3 goldens pins, so I found out when following this video. I suppose that's not good. Or will 2 pins also work for 3g

  • @nongetjie You need all the pins for the sim to work correctly.

  • Find cell phone that uses a sim card. Break off one of the sim card contacts. Bend the contact into the shape of a semi circle slide it into the slot of the missing sim card contact on iPhone. If you make it long enough and bend it/curve it enough it will hold itself in place. Install the iPhone sim card tray with the sim card in it and make sure the contact you installed stays in place. The sim card pressing against it will help keep it in place. Put the iPhone back together and it should work.

  • mate you're a fucking LEGEND for this vid, well done, fixed my 3gs in seconds after a week of pulling my hair out, have a beer on me ;) cheers.

  • @burntsaladsurfco No problem! Im glad i could help!

  • hey can you help me? Is this what i need to do?

my iphone 3gs will not supporte my sim!!!

    the phone worked normal!!!

    I update it!!!

    And it doesnt works!!!

    Sorry for bad ENGLISH!!!

  • Im missing one of the 3 pins. the one all the way to the right, does that affect the sim reader??

  • @EdisonGomez84 Yes your phone will show "No Sim" and you need to get a new sim try soldered onto the motherboard. Its not the easiest of tasks for a novice if im honest. I hope that helps.

  • Just to let you know, the sound on this video is very faint, even with my speakers turned right up.

  • @tvlondon Sorry Im not a loudly spoken person and this was recorded early in the morning so its quite as not to wake other people.

  • ma Dave D. bro a haitian Rapper.... good job man and thx for helping me resolve my phone prob bro........

  • @sletvoldline No problem, Glad It helped you :)

  • I don't get it -_- do we need to attach these 2 metal things or seperate them? Plz reply thanks

  • @Salmanforever you want the gold bar to be TOUCHING when the sim card is in! and you DONT want it to be touching when the sim card is NOT in the phone.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks alot, seriously! didnt think this would help as ive used so many other vids but wow, damn you proved me wrong!

    Thank you soo much!

  • @famzii01 No probs! :)

  • 1 guy paid to have it fixed.

  • so basically do the opposite of what you did? you noted, "my mistake: touching = sim not inserted". so if the two metal contacts are touching, separate them?

  • Superb works a treat!

  • Excellent! That's fixed my iPhone 3G that's been faulty for 6 months, Thank you so very much.

  • thank you so much bro!!! this shit worked !!

  • The Cardboard Fix! I took a guess at a little metal bar that gets pushed down when I install the SIM card and it looked like it wasn't going down far enough. So I cut a tiny piece of thin cardboard from a tea box and inserted it between the sim card holder and that metal bar so when the sim card holder was inserted, it pushed the metal lever down far enough so it wasn't touching the metal connector. I put it back together and its working perfectly! Woohoo! What a world. The cardboard fix!

  • thank you !!!!! i was going to throw away mine haha !

  • Still have the message "No sim card installed" :(

Anyone can help? I've jailbreaked I've down everything was told on internet but I still have this fu*king message!!

  • i dont understand this i must only push the thing down and it work ? my englisch is not so good.... must i open the iphone ?

  • @oliverszk Yeah i guess u got to open the iphone

  • @jethrotay i see a other problem 3 sim card contacts are broken

  • @oliverszk Unfortunatly you will need to get a new sim car tray then and solder it in place of the old one. Those pins are another issue in itself.

  • @dancunni and where can i buy this ? in germany :D

  • dud emy sim cards really really tiny

  • Hazzah!

Thanks bud... and so long electric tape!

  • Brilliant! Just fixed a problem the phone has had since I bought it. You have the ONLY video on YouTube that deals with this specific fix. Many thanks, cause I was ready to take it to be repaired and spend upwards of $50. Cheers cun. :)

  • thanks so much...

    It actually worked

  • hey...if there's no sim card there should be a hole in the top right?

  • @cunrah

RIGHT U JUST NEED TO SEPARATE THE UPPER PIN FROM TOUCHING THE LOWER ONE :)

  • Thanks cunrah

Great video. I have been trying to work out how to fix my iphone for a week and really miss it. I have not dropped it so thought it must be that the SIM was locked. After many calls to my service provider and speaking to at least three technicians and none of them gave me the advice I got from you. I took the front off, bent the spring up slightly, and it now works perfectly. Your're a diamond geezer.

  • @jamesfranti No problem! Glad I could help!

  • Good instructional video well explained by someone who knows his onions. unlike some YouTube vids that are blurred & dark !

  • @rodrimarion Sounds like you have a broken LCD ribbon. Try the phone with another screen if possible.

  • Haha dude, after I took the sim out and turned it off, I looked ahead in the video and decided i did not want to risk messing it up by taking it apart, but when i put it together and turned it on, haha it worked! At least so far its worked. So Thanks man!!!

  • thank you so much this really helped also if it happens again do i keep on doing this?

  • @MBoy194 Yeah, Although if it keeps happening it can also be to do with a bent Sim reader. That is a resolder job though to fix that.

  • @MBoy194 Yeah, Although if it keeps happening it can also be to do with a bent Sim reader. That is a resolder job though to fix that.

  • thankyou so much i was tearing my hair out trying to fix this

  • @tallirasha No problem, Im glad I helped you out. :)

  • @cunrah Has this been a permanent solution for you and do you think I would be able to solve this problem without personally opening the phone up and more of a software/settings fix. Reason I ask this is because some one if offering me a 16Gb iPhone 3G for £100 but they said it has had this problem starting from yesterday. Also how much do you think this would cost to fix instore either from high street or independent phone shop (estimate)?

    Thanks if you can answer.

  • @CassettePlaya1 Yep its a perminant fix for me. If you dont want to open the phone. You can always glue a tiny piece of plastic to the bottom of the sim car holder. Making sure it fits and its no bigger than 2 or 3mm's big you should be able to force the pings to contact in the same mannor. But any modifications you do are at your own risk. Im in no way responsible for any damage you cause to your iPhone. My fixes are totally a guide and worked fine for me.

    Hope that helps.

  • @cunrah Okay thanks for that though I think I will try out all the software fixes first to see if they help solve the problem and if not then "maybe" try it myself but I would be much more comfortable letting someone who knows what their doing handle it and just pay a reasonable fee rather than me potentially making worse than what it is.

  • @CassettePlaya1 Well I Have The Same Problem... So I Called Apple Yesteday And They Said It Sounds Like A Hardware Issue "DUH"

So I Asked Them About How Much For A FIx... They Said $199.. WHAT????

Might As Well Get A New iPhone..... I Say Try This...

  • @mac1ace1 What! $199 thats like £130, I would much rather try and fix it myself and even if I do make a mistake and make something worse I'm sure it can all be fixed for a lot cheaper than that in a non high street phone shop.

  • @mac1ace1 Definately! Do this, and you'll save yourself a chunk of money :) Plus if it fails and you need to get a new phone, then remember that the broken one is still usable as a fatter version of the iPod... :P

  • @cunrah Heyy What Did U Glue To The Bottom Of The Sim Card Holder??? I Have The same Problem...

  • @mac1ace1 Please dont spam the comments, I didnt glue anything to the bottom of the sim tray, I did the propper fix that I've demonstrated in my video. You can use a little tiny strip of plastic to replicate the same fix though. I highly recommend you do it the way i've shown above though. As the phone want ment to have an extra piece of plastic on the bottom of the sim tray. Thats just my 2 cent's.

  • worked for me too, this was realy helpful!! thanks

  • @jakobsuperduper No worries, Glad it helped you :)
