Just go to a whole foods plant based diet and never have to worry about it. As long as Americans are consuming factory farmed animals and processed food heart disease, cancer and diabetes will continue to climb and more and more people will die an early death.
at the beginning you say "red and PROCESSED meat". key word is processed, not red. there's nothing wrong with eating red meat. obviously eating mechanically separated mystery meat with preservatives and nitrates is not good for any part of your body.
The main fat in red meat (pork, beef, lard etc) is MONOUNsaturated fat. I am also a nutritionist (& obesity researcher). Please name a single meat on the planet that has more saturated fat than UNsaturated fat.
What do you think we have been eating since man first walked upright 3.5 million years ago - cheerios?! Why has heart disease only 'exploded' since we started eating refined carbs and sugar? Think Lisa - think! Nature is not going to kills us - processed food on the other hand...
@ZoeHarcombe Meat is processed food. The food which has been processed by bodies of animals so much that it's harmful to humans. I wonder, why I had problems with my heart when I ate meat, and when I went vegan, I became healthier - even when I was consuming much sugar and coffee.
Cholesterol is not the demon that "experts" make it out to be. One myth is that eating loads of choleserol raises serum cholesterol. I eat 35 eggs a week and my total cholesterol is under 200. My HDL (good) cholesterol is 66. However, when I was eating what experts consider healthy, I ate almost no cholesterol and my total was about the same. My total as the same, but my HDL was 33.
Reducing carbs is the single best method of improving lipid profiles.
The mistake these videos make in demonizing red meat, is that they classify ALL red meat into the same boat (processed with nitrates in the same boat as grassfed organic).
This way, they label all meat as bad, which is so far from the truth.

Interesting considering I've just watched a video saying that eating red meat will lower cholesterol cf carbs due to it's lipid profile.
