That is a large Carp you have there. I thought those were like the Catfish (bottom eaters). There was many in the Saginaw River and I remember them as a kid eating the sewage from the city sewage pipe as it ran into the river.

nice catch fella,i felt the same when i banked the the big un known in our carpers world as the one and only (THE LADY) she was my target fish for 2 years (Venue st ives lagoon cambridgeshire) she came out at a woping 51lb 4 oz but yea nice feeling tho ah pal when you hit the jackpot.

yeah it looks like a leather how ever for the people saying its a 30 lb carp, you catch some fucking large looking 30lb carp. Its miles above 40 easy and i DO know by looking and am not just posting bollocks. Theres no way thats under 40 not a chance in hell! the lengh alone tells it all. Secondly tight lines are bad :o) so i like to say happy fishing people and loose lines with a light indicator :oD. Tight lines pah!

1. That is NOT a mirror, can't be 100% but almost definately a Leather Carp.

2. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WHATSOVER that that is anywhere near 70lb, more like 30 (I should know..... I catch enough of them most weeks).

I have no reason to lie about the weight. It was caught less than 2 weeks before i caught it at 72lb, So its lost 40lb in two weeks. Grow up you fecking fool. It is also plastered across the internet on various sites, If you knew half about this fish you would know the weight of it but you must be so far behind the times its mental.

Well we didnt weigh it as i had caught it before. It had been caught a month or 2 before at 72lb so we guessed it was around that weight. It got caught again 2 months later at 84lb so who knows how big it was.

It is very easy to recognise due to the big scar that runs round the width of the fish and is well published in various magazines.

I caught it on a 22mil Ocean protein boilie from Vision Baits. Rig was a runn rig with a break of lead, clear amnesia boom in 22lb to a supple 25lb silkworm hooklink. The hook was a LSN Size 6.

It depends where you come from. Smoked carp is a delicacy in eastern europe. I don't think these piggy pet carp, over fattened on boilies would be much good to eat though.

We never weighed it as it was a repete capture. It broke the world record last friday at 84lb 8oz and it was early september i had her so good knows how big it was then ;-)
