@w333silke Mate, I don't know the first thing about special effect! This was taken with my iphone, the morning of the September quake. Trust me, all of us who lived through it wish this was special effects, but it's not. Scary as hell is what it was! Just lucky this one was at 4am in the morning, not rush hour. We weren't so lucky with the February quake.
It's really a terrible thing that has happened there. I live in the middle of the United States (Oklahoma) and we have even had some jolting earthquakes ourselves. But what really concerns me is out west from southern California all the way up the coast to Alaska there has not been an earthquake of any big magnitude in many many years and it's a matter of how soon it's going to be and when it does hit, there may not be much left of L.A. or San Fran. Our thoughts go out to Christchurch :(
@Mbeehive Right now the fault is following regular behaviour. There have been tens of moderate energy releases on and in the vicinity of the San Andreas faultline - none too powerful to be dangerous, but they did contribute to the release of built-up stresses.
very realistic special effects ^^

As long as nobody got hurt, it´s not a big deal to rebuild the whole mess.It has also a good part.It will bring probably some new jobs.

that is amazing! hard to believe that a couple of days ago there were at least 20,000 cars speeding down there.
