@Skiiiiirt (i'm a girl) well, if you beleive in evolution it does make sense. Men were the hunters, that made them able to see movement better. Women were gatherers, that made them able to see color better (part of why men are more likely to be colorblind). If a car is about to hit a male driver, he will process it faster and be able to respond quicker to avoid collision. It takes women miliseconds longer to process movement, those miliseconds may be very imortant.

God forbid a guy spends a few more bucks so that his wife isn't stuck out in the middle of the night with a flat tire (esp. in those days with no cell phones!). I think the verbiage is a little old fashioned. but the sentiment is not. In fact, nowadays there are even more sickos out there, so if you're a woman and think this is mysoginistic, you get a flat tire at night with no cell signal and see how liberated you feel!

I think the implication of this commercial is that the husband is the person making the buying decision concerning this product, and would want to buy the product that would best protect someone he cares about, in this case his wife.
