When Garius (as a reaver) kills the greycloaks and then comes from the gate of the walls and summons the king of shadows' avatar, the avatar is not summoned... Can someone help me? I have installed all the patches, and the mask of the betrayer and storm of zehir expansions.
@CorvusCorpseater haha yeah thats what i thought was the problem too, they bottle necked on the gate, probably stacked a spawn que, ended up with an invincible garius and no summon... But this was weeks ago, you probably beat the game by now XD
aww, i wanted to find out if ALL of Faerun fell under the reign of the King of Shadows, wanted to find out that the entire planet of Abeir-Toril is ruled by him.
Is it just me or is the word "know" forcibly stuffed in every twist and turn in this game...and pretty much in many other games too? Thumbs up if you agree...
Lol it's funny Zhjaeve actually said "Know that" again in Mask Of The Betrayer D: She a long with characters such as Shandra, Grobnar , Neeshka appear in a dream sequence in a dream version of Crossroad Keep just before the final boss; though they're generated from your characters memories. When I went to talk to her she said "Know that those abominations were but mere shadows of your true enemy... Be on your guard". And audio included "Know that you are welcome here" :P
I am wondering if there is a neutral ending to this game.If e.g. i had a neutral character with high diplomacy and conversation skills in general,would it be possible perhaps to make the King of Shadows understand what happened to him or something,and avoid the battle entirely as a result?it would be most interesting if something like that was included in the game.
Anybody else think the narrator at the end was a terrible choice. He sounds like some prick they pulled off the street and says "mere" weird... Pissed me off.
@Dimensionaluk Just the entire overall quality of NWN2 was not up to par with even the first one. The addition of the new party system was cool but the story line lacked as well as the game play. Seems too straight-forward, now it just melds with every other game out there.
@Assurinibibi i'm not disputing that it did not have it's share of problems but so do other games, like most obsedian games it was a buggy, rushed mess. but the story, dialogue and characters were all top notch imo.. that's generally their failing most of the time.
@Dimensionaluk Yeah, although its buggy its still my 2nd favourite RPG ever, right behind NWN. The story was excellent, with a somewhat questionable ending, the difficulty was superbly implemented, none of this hardest difficulty = 1 million health on grunts, the characters wee witty and engaging and I loved the Crossroad keep and how I had things to spend my mountain of gold on, there should have been more upgrades though.
How exactly do you continue the quest for Mask of the Betrayer if you are an undead servant of the King of Shaodws? It seems he might not appreciate having his lieutenant dragged halfway across Faerun.
The Shadow General, after returning to Crossroad Keep, begins to regret what he has done. He believes that since he has served his master so well, his master will agree to turn him back to a human. He confronts his master, and, enraged, The King of Shadows allows this, but at a great price.
I just wonder what did your companions thought to archive by attacking you? Even if they can kill you in self defense, they still die since they cant fight the King of Shadows. Someone at least should be following YOU whichever way you go, not Neverwinter. I know Bishop can do that, but not all of our companions are so overly loyal to that city.
@emurikaw I understand your point. I was just saying that it's refreshing to see a western rpg with an evil ending where the protagonist becomes the servant of the Big Bad, not just usurp the Big Bad's position.
I know that alot of people did not like this ending because you end up serving the King of Shadows... but to be honest this is a rather orginal outcome. It is something of a cliche that in the evil endings the character overthrows the villain and takes over the world for themselves. However for those who still don't like it, here is an alternate way to look at it. The protagonist is only serving the king of shadows so that he may see the dark lord's weakness and usurp an already built empire.
They actually stopped before going at NEVERWINTER!? Ha then my character risked his neck playing hero to save the city for nothing :P
I got the good ending but naturally I wanted to see the evil ending too; thanks for the upload :) It's kinda bitter sweet when your companions could also end up serving as the *last boss* at the end but heh heh interesting all the same :)
I wonder if Ammon Jerro would ever betray you if you hadn't enough influence on him. I was just wondering if you had the evil ending and whether or not Shandra would be revived again because during the scene where Black Garius tries to turn people on you; Black Garius tempts Ammon Jerro to join them by saying he can bring her back? I know it would make no odds in the good ending of course as if he betrayed you; he'd be killed off like the others but if you joined the king of shadows......
I still cant believe they got Norman from accounts or some other nobody to narrate the last part of the conclusion. No offence to him, but his voice has all the screen presence of a little girl.
I'm wondering, is it possible to get different endings for the Law/Chaos scale as well as the Good/Evil scale(I.E. a different ending for Chaotic Evil chars then Lawful Evil chars)? I haven't completed the game yet, but I'm rather curious about this.
Have they fixed this game with any of the expansions or is it still crap like it was shortly after it's release? I remember buying it the day it was released, looked great, then they patched it and ruined the game.

Agh, stop the hype with DA:O already. It's out, and we can all see that it's not the fantasy-RPG messiah. It has good voice acting (big deal), but that's pretty much it.
By the way, anyone knows how this evil ending continues and reflects in the next expansion (mask of the betrayer)?
If you killed the king of shadows
*spoiler*
You would have been burried under the collapsing building, bein rescued by a mage, and later you could ask about wich companions made it out (amon jerro) and so on... But all of those things wouldn't happen with this ending.
Anyone knows how this would play out on continue?

How the hell can people still be in Highcliff to take care of Shandra's farm if the shadows are there? I mean before the battle of Crossroad Keep the shadow armies occupy Highcliff. Wouldnt that mean that they still do? Im confusing myself...
yes everyone u can play online and no u dont have to pay its free online but u have to download the modules to be able to access them so i recomend that once u download them add them to your favourites so u can log in whenever with out having to search for them
Thanks for posting it. I only played as a chaotic neutral wizard and wanted to check out the romance option so never saw the evil ending. I will give it another go with an evil char the next time I try the campaign.
Lame. Playing as an evil character while your companions fought tooth and nail for you shows utter lameness. This is why good and evil game is a thing past of the past now. Gray actions are the future of gaming.
I love playing as a chaotic evil character - can't stand playing as good. It's pretty damn easy to play evil - can't say the same for playing as good though...
@TehPengie1095 yea a friend of mine has that too. in every rpg i've played i ended up either evil or neutral at best. i mean most of the times i would get points towards evil and i was like: wtf? what did i do now?

@TenioPL When the game gives you a chance to reform your party, such as when leaving the Sunken Flagon, simply don't add any members then click "Accept". Or you could choose "Party Roster" from the bottom left hand corner button, though I'm not sure this feature was added with the expansions, so if you don't have those, it may or may not be included. Of course, at certain points in the game certain party members have to be included in order to move the plot along.
@TehPengie1095 Same happens to me when I play Oblivion. Funny part is that I played it several times already. Oh well, I do have an assassin, but others are as good as jesus, holy fuck.
if choose the evil path and don't kill bishop but make him leave and you beatray your companions he will come back and fight along side you.....a good trick!!!
lolxors is it me or are there pieces of the good ending. first: everything was destroyed bla bla bla, then city watch has become bigger and stronger everyone is happy, highcliff villagers repair Shandra's farm.... then everyone dead, no light of day in Faerun...lolz
Stupid ending... If I were truly evil, I would imprison, slay torture the King of Shadow, make his powers mine, make him watch me destroy Illfarn a thousand times over. Then go look up the Lich Queen, oh evil does not forget a debt, and who else ah , the academy mage who ambushed me, he shall face my wraith as well. Becoming a servant to the King of Shadow is an insult to my evilness.
did you meant. bioware games :) , this motive was in jade empire. sw kotor baldurs gate and i think icewind (but not sure) they always add option to kill all of your followers ( in jade and kotor few decides to stay with you if they are evil or if you have completed enough quests qwith them)

ooohhhh nice... right now I'm playing as a chaotic evil fighter/blackguard and looking forward to the evil ending. the good ending sucked, I didn't want to kill Bishop! but since Bishop will side by you with the evil ending and I get to kill all those annoying other companions (thank goodness I got to kill Elanee earlier) this should be fun >:3
i have 3 silver swords....dunno how how i got them but when i fought the 4 shadow reavers spawned a 2nd sword and when i killed black Garius a 3rd spawned....strange
this ending is cool and all but when you play nwn 2 MASK OF THE BETRAYER, it is assumed that you finished the original campaign the good way(you kill the king of shadows and your companions were crushed by falling debris). if you want to play mask of the betrayer, might as well finish this game by killing the king of shadows
Agreed. That narrator is -atrocious.- It's like place-holder recordings by one of the designers and he insisted on being in the game or they didn't have money to hire a decent one.
I have never killed my companions, even being an evil character... It's too hard for me to kill Neeshka or Elanee... Evil sucks! Butt-kicking! For goodness!
Bleh, goodness. Too easy to be good cause it's only one way you can go. Playing a smart evil, and not some doctor evil wannabe, gave me the ending i wanted. Unlike mask of the betrayer this has a way to evil ending.
I played an evil Warlock, but then in the middle of Arc III I rebuilded the church of tyr in my Keep and made the quest of the dragon and my aligment was turned to Good :(
Yeah, doesn't quite go together does it? Truth be told I didn't really play an evil character all the way through, I switched it up near the end of the second chapter, so a lot of stuff was already set.

sorry its just you...D&D Forgotten Realms was long before Warcraft and was a strong influence for the young Warcraft lore and co. Besides Warcraft started as RTS series in 1994. You dont know Warcraft Strategy games? Oh man get lost you noob
And don't forget the Warhammer-universe, which started in 1983. If you look closely, you'll find certain similarities between Warhammer and Warcraft....And Jagticon, you're also right of course!

Update:If u kill Elanee at the Circle meeting Her ghost will haunt the Mere.She will keep away the shadows from a small territory and help travelers out from the KoS's domain! :)
I see u have MotB installed(the KoS moves in "slow motion",LOL).Which ver. of the game is this?At 1.10 some of my "tools" ROS-File had became corrupted,so I needed to copy them back from an earlier save!;(
that was sad. I think I'll go back and restart as good now. Not gonna bother with evil ending.

Depending on your actions back in neverwinter such as helping the guard (Lawful) or helping the thieves (chaotic) the ending will change a bit.

I love playing as a chaotic evil character - can't stand playing as good. It's pretty damn easy to play evil - can't say the same for playing as good though...

@TehPengie1095 yea a friend of mine has that too. in every rpg i've played i ended up either evil or neutral at best. i mean most of the times i would get points towards evil and i was like: wtf? what did i do now?

@TenioPL When the game gives you a chance to reform your party, such as when leaving the Sunken Flagon, simply don't add any members then click "Accept". Or you could choose "Party Roster" from the bottom left hand corner button, though I'm not sure this feature was added with the expansions, so if you don't have those, it may or may not be included. Of course, at certain points in the game certain party members have to be included in order to move the plot along.

if choose the evil path and don't kill bishop but make him leave and you beatray your companions he will come back and fight along side you.....a good trick!!!

Stupid ending... If I were truly evil, I would imprison, slay torture the King of Shadow, make his powers mine, make him watch me destroy Illfarn a thousand times over. Then go look up the Lich Queen, oh evil does not forget a debt, and who else ah , the academy mage who ambushed me, he shall face my wraith as well. Becoming a servant to the King of Shadow is an insult to my evilness.

did you meant. bioware games :) , this motive was in jade empire. sw kotor baldurs gate and i think icewind (but not sure) they always add option to kill all of your followers ( in jade and kotor few decides to stay with you if they are evil or if you have completed enough quests qwith them)

ooohhhh nice... right now I'm playing as a chaotic evil fighter/blackguard and looking forward to the evil ending. the good ending sucked, I didn't want to kill Bishop! but since Bishop will side by you with the evil ending and I get to kill all those annoying other companions (thank goodness I got to kill Elanee earlier) this should be fun >:3

after i saw the good ending, i got pissed because I just got crushed, so i started again with an evil warlock
the evil ending is much, much more satisfacatory

this ending is cool and all but when you play nwn 2 MASK OF THE BETRAYER, it is assumed that you finished the original campaign the good way(you kill the king of shadows and your companions were crushed by falling debris). if you want to play mask of the betrayer, might as well finish this game by killing the king of shadows

Bleh, goodness. Too easy to be good cause it's only one way you can go. Playing a smart evil, and not some doctor evil wannabe, gave me the ending i wanted. Unlike mask of the betrayer this has a way to evil ending.

I played an evil Warlock, but then in the middle of Arc III I rebuilded the church of tyr in my Keep and made the quest of the dragon and my aligment was turned to Good :(

Yeah, doesn't quite go together does it? Truth be told I didn't really play an evil character all the way through, I switched it up near the end of the second chapter, so a lot of stuff was already set.

Update:If u kill Elanee at the Circle meeting Her ghost will haunt the Mere.She will keep away the shadows from a small territory and help travelers out from the KoS's domain! :)
