  • i misshim soooooooooooooooooooooooomuh

    zeit meines lebens wieder!!!

  • Bitte schön bubulupumonster-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • Tremendo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wnat a genius! Beautiful, relaxing, out of this world...

  • Just love it. Makes me soar like a bird.

  • Miles was the Master.. the way Louis Armstrong commanded the trumpet and made it sing whatever he palyed.. Miles did his way with the trumpet but he set fire to his pieces and took you to a whole different world all together.. a word of smokey cafes and underground lounges.... the smoke and drink crowd..

  • Monk said it, Miles underlined it

  • Love Miles' version a lot more then Thelonious' version. His trumpet just works on this track.

  • why was i so blind to this kind of music when i was young?

  • Comment removed

  • @Liveisbeautiful1 there are actually young people listening to jazz...

  • @RooooEnnnnnnnn thank you i am 12 years old and i love this piece. one of my favorite to play. Using the harmon mute makes it sound so sexy

  • @RooooEnnnnnnnn Just glad that jazz and blues are the most beautiful exports we have ever produced.

  • if any one does'nt like this, all ican say is y u hereShh it's MILES.

  • La mejor version

  • bigest miles

  • God. It's a good song, but the trumpet is so piercing on this record. Ow.

  • Wow!!! I love this song!!! Thank you for posting it!!!

  • You're welcome, maisqpoesia9999lcg-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • I'm sure it's been asked before- but what chord do they do those stabs on 25 seconds in?

  • wow..............

  • His style would look together today quite the definition of COOL

  • The epitome of cool.

  • When I First Herd this Song...I had Just Met Some Two Energy's That Would Change me Projection / Perception For Every...Wow Those Moments! Sweet Movements. So Powerful. So Fragile. The Reason To Live....

  • This is the track that started it all for Miles...it really did. That sound and aura was brought to light...and he played very little of the melody! Genius!!!

  • Classic Heat...woooweeee!! Wake Up People!!

  • both men have their own stamps to put on it. Monk wrote it and did it his way, then Miles said " hey man, what if we do it like this" with his trumpet... they are both wonderful. Jazz is a beautiful art form man, lets not be negative here just dig the tunes.

  • I personally prefer Miles' version to Monk's original one.

Miles' interpretation is ...... more soulful.

  • volar ,volar y volar !

  • Amo esta interpretación!!!

  • You guys talk too much about the dislike button. It's about Miles and the music who cares about the like and dislike buttons?

  • I also think that such the comment is unnecessary.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @vastusinternus thank youuuu

  • valeu a dica Egeu, é de Laus! ;-)

  • Very emotional and perfect for midnights and dawns, especially with someone :)

  • Love this by Miles.... Monk's classic, I think every artist has made Round Midnight at one time or another..

  • tak wygląda niebo

  • I'm 15 years old, I'm a metalhead, and I love this... problem?

  • @MrVersipellis Dont let idiots bring you down

    D

  • lonely nights at the computer ...

  • Aunt Mary belong to the Columbia Record Club and would loan my brother and I these precious recordings to listen to at home. This was my intro to Miles and Trane at the age of 10 or so. We surrounded my music on the southside of Chicago, jazz, blues, r&b... This is what a cherish about 50s, being tranced-out by this music taken to other worlds than 1950s America!

  • miles is well...... only if words could do the job.... miles tells you what cannot be said....

  • @HolyWarspunishmentdu I think you are just a sensitive soul in a fucked up world. And this is the why of the jazz: jazz to make better the shape of this world and for the listener, to help him to resist reality and feed its soul...

  • Okay, let's see, I'm 16 and I...like jazz. Is that right?

  • @Bugera369 Its not normal. You should be listening to Rap. Just kidding, I'm 15 and I love jazz.

  • Round Midnight almost makes me cry anytime I listen to it, especially when I remember that most of these jazz legends playing it are all gone. You are greatly missed Miles David :(

  • Perfection personified.

  • Perfection personified.

  • after work this is the SONG for me!

  • So fucking AMAZING...

  • Why do people come here & then dislike this? What were they expecting?

  • No one can tell about that reason....

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @archolman simply to get this exact type of comment

  • @archolman what? people aren't allowed to hear a song for the first time on youtube?

  • @archolman

the are dead pepole with out soul i feel sorry for them

  • @archolman they are clowns!!

    Incrivelmente linda! Mil estrelas!!!

    Miles Davis geniallllll maravilhosooooo!!

    Maga-Lee :-))

  • so sultry ! thanks.

  • You're welcome, nicole0356-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • this is a very beautiful Miles interpretation of an excellent Thelonius Monk song. the whole album is amazing. then again,it is Miles Davis

  • The sound quality of this is unprecedented on my mom's laptop. I can hear things I've not heard before in the mute trumpet sound here and the laxness of the sax has a strong presence, too.

  • I just wanna imagine myself in some smokey bar late at night listening to this, with rain outside gently tapping on the windows with the beat of the music.

  • This sounds like something when your head down, in the city as rain droplets camouflage your tears and you feeling down in the dumps cause your boss just fired you and gave you your last paycheck. I'm pretty sure everybody , job or not, has had this type of feeling in their heart. I'm only 15 and i sure had .

  • this is genious

  • Out all This be My favorite..yes dahlings it does what it does..right it erects the feelings of passion that lead you to feel what can happen "round midnight" It is a very sensual seductive song.. my most favorite of all.. I have loved Jazz for many moons..

  • NIce! pre-first great quintet. this is some good old stuff.

  • such a beautiful piece of music.

  • @60otaku3 i agree

  • miles was da man

  • great song

  • Hello. Is your CD a Janpanese edition? Because the sounds are much more exquisite than the ordinary EU editon I have usually heard.

  • Thank you for the comment, csc410643-san!!

Yes, the CD is a Japanese edition.

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • my all time favorite round midnight...coltrane and Davis made it do what it do....

  • Ugh! Neighbor decided to blast top 40 as soon as I hit play! :( So I switch to headphones which sound better than laptop speakers but get hot as hell from the leather. Just wanted to chill and listen. Oh well.

  • The quintessence of jazz, point blank. Anybody who doesn't like has either got no ears or no soul. Coltrane just kills it on this one. My favorite jazz recording of all time.

  • True music in every sense of the word.Truely magical.

  • Is it me or is the transition at 2:40 utterly fantastical...???

  • best music of all time, just perfect

  • black mozart

  • @YOUENNNN yeah good one :D

  • @YOUENNNN

Mozart reincarnate in a different musical era, more like.

  • Somber souls, these jazzmen, invoking memories of times and places we all once knew. Interpreting our dreams and longings. Looking deep into our muted souls, they speak the language of our hearts. A tongue few have mastered. God's one true language understood by all.

  • Why argue, criticize, and debate? Just be quiet, listen, and appreciate....

  • Priceless.

  • This tune will live forever - I wish I could

  • Hello to all Miles'fans. If you want to delve into his discography, check out my channel : Miles Davis' discography REVIEW for the first time ever. Cheerio.

  • Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane,Ron Carter, McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones playing "Round Midnight" would be a definition of Jazz.Beautiful composition.Never get sick of it.thanks for sharing...Enes

  • You're welcome, Enes-san!!

    Otaku d(^o^)b

  • @IxENESxI Too bad Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner both play piano :)

  • aretha sanchez2......think you are too young, perhaps, to think of dying alone. I'am a jazz cat.....and a musician.....want to talk ,comment back.....would love to talk over our love of various artist compositions.......definately the music of late nite and senusal play.Superranman55

  • Hey eos008-Your cat freaks cause he's cool,just like Miles....one cool cat....all about the groove babe....Super ranman55

  • miles davis quintet é o maior encontro da história da música universal.

  • Miles Davis freaks my cat out for some reason- she gets all agitated and meows when he plays

  • So dose my girlfriend, yup literally meows and runs out of the room.

  • I agree with above...........

  • IF you feel like your the coolest cat in the room and miles is your wing man while listening to this then give it a thumbs up and tell the haters to try listening to some real music for a change XD

  • I think it is just people with good taste in music who like this.

  • Suena tan bien... Sigo enamorado del JAZZ! Saludos desde México

  • I wish I have a love, a boyfriend who likes this music... here in mexico.. people who like this... is freaking weird to find!!!!

    I´m going to die alone!

  • Always the ultimate music for fucking

  • That trumpet has a funny way of making my face tingle :D

  • @locustskater

we like to call that a face orgasm :-)

  • I no miles and monk have completely different chord progressions for this song, and i have monk's version all mapped out, but i cant figure out miles'! can somebody help me out! Itll be much appreciated. thanks

  • delicate and sensual...

  • j'aime beaucoup.

  • Miles Davis. God's greatest gift to man.

  • oh oui oh oui oh oh oui, voilà un vrai ORGASME, alors au travail les mecs jouez avec la musique, as Miles made

  • Good song, every single note counts.

  • by quincy jones .. marlon brando, miles and picasso are the best

  • ufff listen to this beautiful song sitting at a table and smoking a cigarette,,,

  • Always wondered if writing your age and saying you like jazz is supposed to show something? Am i missing out on extra brownie points? I'm sure Miles hoped all ages would appreciate his divine music.

  • @NacerBadu yeah it shows that you're going against the grain in the crappy way music is going today. .that you aren't pressured by all that you hear playing or that you heard your entire life...and that you have a taste for real music. that you have the love and willingness to seek it out when it's totally diminishing today.

  • @NacerBadu Couldn't agree with you more.

    This is a masterpiece!

  • @NacerBadu I think these kids are looking for a cookie

  • No one remotely like you Miles. Happy Birthday.

  • why does he have to be so effing good?! a 14 year old isnt supposed to like this stuff!!!!!

  • It is because you do not like this song or Miles Davis.

    ...Otaku3

  • @60otaku3 no... i love it, is so wierd since im 14.....

  • @ledzeppfan1000 If theres one thing I find obnoxious, its a comment that follows this format: "I'm between the ages of 13 and 16 and I like a genre of music other than top 40". We are not impressed that you are a teenager who listens to jazz/classical/classic rock/etc. In the future, kindly keep your age and other personal information to yourself.

  • @skunksa Who the fuck are you? If anything your controlling ass is obnoxious. Who are you to tell people what they can and can't disclose about themselves? Insecure anal people like yourself have serious issues that stem from a faulty abusive childhood who thinks that somehow controlling what other people say and do will rehab your deeply rooted control issues are, at the very least pathetic. If a young person is proud of being young & appreciates old ass music like yours let them. Asshole

  • @60otaku3 that meant he loved it...so do I,and I was looking for the Charlie Parker version....

  • kzam717-san,

as for that version that you look for, examine Miles' album "Collectors' Items".

And you can find that version on YouTube immediately.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @ledzeppfan1000 why isn't a 14 year old supposed to like this? I'm curious.

  • @likenumber23 Miles hoped everyone would like it.

  • @spoofzilla I know... and this kid said "a 14 year old is not supposed to like this"... haha.

  • Sound of C21H23NO5:)

  • doing research to increase my jazz vocabulary as a singer thanks for making it easy for me to sit at the feet of the masters! Be Blessed

  • You're welcome, Msashay1-san!!

    Otaku3 (^_^)/

  • I'm officially turned out on Mister Davis.

  • hahah this music is beatiful but Génériqué is the best!

  • i don´t believe it i´m criying......he´s the best, i love that!!!!

  • i know miles is who he is, but in this song coltrain´s solo is just.....next level

  • this is de shiii!!!

  • Megggg

  • This makes me feel like a 1940's detective. Beautifully arranged.

  • Today is a happy day in my

life, this sound is BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!!

    MAKES ME MORE SONHADORA

  • So Cool, man. So Cool.

  • thank g-d monk was created

  • Yeah but I'm a trumpet player, did any of you catch that high, high G note that Miles played in a diminished chord? You might not know the musical term for the note but it's when he get's cool and aggressive at the same time at the 2 minute 45 second part, I was totally blown away!

  • Thats not a G. It is notated C followed by Eb.

  • haha LOL

  • 10/5 stars

  • Thanks for rating 10 stars, roflwaffle-san!!

    I'm very glad for it.
