TRON 2 is currently in production. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner are returning. Steve Lisberger the original creator is one of the Executive Producers on the new film.

There are more than rumors. Two official sites went online, and they're hosting a high definition version of the trailer that was shown last year at Comic Con in San Diego. The official title of the movie is "Tron Legacy" and will come out in December 2010.

There actually is a level in KH2 with Tron, and the level is called, "Space Paranoids" after the game that Flynn plays in the film. Only one of the original voice actors is in KH2 (Bruce Boxleitner who played Tron) and Sark and the MCP are played by Corey Burton who sounds DEAD ON David Warner. Corey Burton is amazing! He also is famous for Shockwave in the G-1 Transformers cartoon. I haven't actually played KH2 but saw the video here on youtube.

MCP is still the meanest computer ever on motion picture. He is pure evil. Colossus? Nah. Hal 9000? No way,he was just malfunctioning and enjoyed working with humans otherwise. The deux es machina in Matrix? Give me a break. Master Control Program a megalomaniac who had no good intentions at all and saw humans as tools to do his bidding in the real world. END OF LINE.

The MCP wasn't a computer, but an over-sized beast of a PROGRAM, that was growing out of control. The computer was called ENCOM, named after the company where Flynn, Alan, Dr. Gibbs, and Dillinger worked. I agree that he was and still is the BADDEST beast in movies, and even King Kong ain't got $hit on him, LOL!!!!!!Looking forward to the TRON sequel in 2011, some nearly 30 years after the 1st one. Trinsic1, GREAT video by the way, too.

True the Master Control Program was a megalomaniac of a program but probably needed a lot of hardware to function at all (at least back in the early 80's).

The MCP apparently planned on taking over the Pentagon he revealed to Dillinger so I guess it was a good thing Flynn stopped him before...hehe.

That's confusing as is the stuff I keep seeing online: recently I saw that Tron will be re-released in 2010(or 2011) in 3-D, and then I also keep hearing that an actual sequel will come out in 2011, and that Steven Lisberger won't be directing it, but that two guys who wrote episodes for, "LOST" were writing the script - if they wrote the later episodes, I have my doubts, as IMHO, "LOST" needs to get FOUND-real quick. It's dragging on way too much - we'll see where TRON stands in 2-3 years.

Wow, this tribute felt like a retrospective piece. Great job! I thought the sound effects dubbed over the original was like a tribute in itself. Lemme explain...TRON has to be one of my all-time faves. I remember vividly as a 5 year old watching this film in '82 at EL REY Threatre in Los Angeles and was blown away by the production. Its too bad movies today don't have that same "WHOA" factor.
