Actually, correction. Fallout New Vegas is not 4.

It's not from the main series line. Fallout 4 will start in 2012. By Bethesda Softworks who recently just release The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Fallout: New Vegas was more of like a Separate DLC game. That's why almost every thing including the engine was left the same. Only the Developer was the one that changed.

It has far more depth than Bioshock. Bioshock is a straight-up first person shooter. Fallout 3 is an RPG with the elements of a first person shooter. The only thing the 2 games really have in common is the first person perspective and the retro style of the game worlds.

@starboomer11 The only similarity between fallout and borderlands is the apocalyptic nature. Aside from that their pretty much incomparable. Fallout is pure RPG with a first person view, while borderlands is pure FPS with some RPG elements. Dont say fallout 3 is an FPS because its not. It has the first person view but guns arent based on how well i aim, instead their based on my skills just like an RPG.

I'm just stating that they probably thought of how this game had so much success due to it's perfect blend of RPG and FPS gameplay, along with how Call of Duty had so much success because of the intense action. What I meant to say is that they probably thought that they could get by by imitating the two by making an FPS with minor RPG elements plus a post-apocalyptic setting (Fallout 3), and intense FPS action (CoD).

I love new vegas, melee and unarmed hugely improved, better perks, weapons, main plot is alot more fleshed out with charachters, ironsights, companion wheel, hardcore mode makes it tougher,i still prefer 3, but its close- dc wasteland was just better. 99% of buildings were worth exploring, bethesda rock, cmon skyrim:)

New Vegas was boring. It is not bad it just feels to much like a western like that movie cowboys and aliens. I just got fallout 3 and love it! The atmosphere of a postapocaliptic wasteland is amazing! And since in the story D.C. used to be a war zone, it is a little easier finding guns.
