#44 Riggins is the Man, total game changer. Talk about putting the team on your back to win a title. He did it. "Hall of Famer..." what else... Riggo played Fullback once in awhile and completely leveled people, knocking one guy out for several minutes... Haven't seen anything like it in twenty some odd years. Blow that Diesel horn & watch him knock people out... and out of the way.
When it comes to sheer power backs. It's between Csonka and Cambel. Riggins and Brown, they too where big and faster, but they're game was'nt as violent as the other two.
I agree with most of this, but Bettis should be a little higher on the list. Most of his career was against 8 or 9 guys in the box and he still is higher on the all time list than ever one else on this list.
You know, all 5 of your picks here are totally legit. I agree with you that Payton can't crack this list for power. Being Ohio State born and bred, I LOVE Eddie George, but no way does he beat out anyone on this list. The only thing I would do is switch Czonka and Riggins. Lots of guys come out with lists and they are bogus, or homers or whatever. Not this one.
Earl Campbell is number 1 I would like to see marion motley or christian okoye on this list though. I think Jim Brown shouldn't be considered really a power back. He was strong but he was really balanced
umm, i guess Bo didn't know about this list
