Channel 4 isn't using "The One and Only" news music package. they had Gari Communications make a special package for them named "WJXT 2009 News Theme." this is according to SouthernMedia's News Music Search Archives. this package is the second one that Gari had made for Channel 4.
Yes and they need HD weather graphics. All of Jax stations are kinda in need of a few things. I hate the "newsroom" sets of FCN and 47. I like backgrounds.
CBS 47 no longer has the newsroom set anymore now that they are Fox 30 and CBS 47 Action News. their new set looks awesome. but i still like Channel 4 the most....and 2AliveNews.
Well, yes, Channel 4 edged ahead in 2006 when failure as a news director Marty VanHousen took over at FCN. But don't say FOX/CBS edged ahead...they're far behind always in the Nielsons. I conducted a people meter last month at Stanton College Prep and FCN actually won by 7.5%.

Really?At first, Channel 4 had been gradually upgrading all of their broadcasts. Last Wednesday was the HD premiere of The 10O'Clock News, and Channel 4 News @ 11. This is now supposed to make all of their broadcasts in HD. They use stylized pillarboxing for all of their ENG and stock footage. Oh and weather, however, weather is done on a 16:9 green screen. The wx talent can walk in front of the wings during the green screen shots. Which just means they haven't purchased HD weather graphics yet.
that may have been what i saw. i had first seen Channel 4 News in HD during the 6:00 p.m. news cast and then when i say it at 10:00 it wasn't. i also noticed that they werent in HD during the Inauguration. but there again they were in the middle of making everything HD. i'm just glad that they went HD.
Yah it was dumb. They didn't do inauguration in HD, they did have the equipment already of course. They tried to gradually move everything over, for good reason I guess. They upgraded everything...no longer any cameramen (there haven't been for some time at 12/25 and 30/47)...all robotic now. They also use computer controlled control rooms too using all Miranda Vertigo technology. So things are a bit different now.
i like First Coast News because they interact more with viewers than WJXT does and they look to their viewers to inform them of news happening around the city. but i like WJXT because of their convenient times they broadcast their news casts . i watch The 10 O'clock news every night. i watch both news stations equally. WJXT has better graphics and music with their news. and they went HD which i love.
I don't know to be honest, I just saw it from another comment from one of those videos...ehhh...still, being number one on the First Coast deserves better than this.
Also, this may sound like the "Newschannel NG" version.

I like First Coast News better because when they say that there your news leader they mean it. And i also love First Coast News Anchors Better.

Well, technically not. WJXT leads in all the ratings now. FCN was that from 2001-2008.

FCN fell apart in 2006 thats when Ch. 4 took total control and Fox/CBS started to move up into 2nd and FCN to 3rd.

There's a lot of back story to what happened at FCN in 2005-2006. And yes, that is shocking to know FCN won that meter but good for them.

Yes, FCN has a much better community and blogging system (Pluck) then Post-Newsweek has implemented.
I do love a 10 p.m. broadcast, which is the only WJXT newscast I watch. Though I have to say, I don't really like any of our stations.
