If Manning did release those cables, his actions could be considered treason during a time of war. (1. That wasn't a criminal act, it was war. These pilots thought they were insurgents. Ground reports came in that a group of insurgents, about that number, were firing from that location. Those cameras look like rpgs. War sucks.
(2. The US Army rarely shows combat footage for security reasons. These operations are meant to be classified. We don't like the world to know our operational standards. If they do, they can formulate plans to combat our operational standards

If Manning did release those cables, his actions could be considered treason during a time of war. Though our U.S. forces actions were disgraceful, the release of such information could have endangered military operations. I don't agree with the hell he must be going through. But he should be given a proper court martial like any other service man or woman and be proven a guilty trader.
