Never listened to Snakepit before... this song has a nice southern rock feel... reminds me of the song "Can't You See" if it was performed by the Black Crowes.
People must realise that Axl wrote all the GNR lyrics and most of the melodies. No Axl no songs, it's that simple. Remember that Slash played along to melodies, melodies created mostly by Axl. One things for certain. Without Axl the others may have been an okay band, but no way a great band. Without lyrics all you have is instrumentals.

I heard this song live last night at the Boston House of Blues. It sounds incredible live, and has quickly become one of my favorite songs. Slash is a great musician on the level of John Williams and Beethoven. It's impossible to fully appreciate the intricacies of his work until you've seen him perform live.
I had the opportunity to see live a consent to GNR in 1993 but everything went to see Slash, GNR came in 2010 came here to El Salvador and gave me no interest in going to see them only because they lacked the best of the better slash!!!

People must realise that Axl wrote all the GNR lyrics and most of the melodies. No Axl no songs, it's that simple. Remember that Slash played along to melodies, melodies created mostly by Axl. One things for certain. Without Axl the others may have been an okay band, but no way a great band. Without lyrics all you have is instrumentals.

@onepinkrose sort of true. not completely though. of course no axl no GNR that's pretty obvious. he had his part in the songs as much as the other guys. though what made them stand out wasn't only the weird but cool vocals, but also, if not mostly, the amazing riffwork by izzy and slash. still not quite guns, you still need the energydrums by steven and straightforward, yet fulfilling basslines by Duff. point is you need every member. But I gotta say it would still be a great band without Axl

Please tell me what lyrics Slash wrote, Axl wrote all the Coma lyrics which was according to Axl 'Slash's baby'. And please tell me why Axl took 25% of the royalties from Appetite when Izzy and Slash only took 20%. Slash says so in his book. And Axl has more writing credits on the UYI albums. Axl got 25% because they all agreed since steven didnt contribute to the beats, he deserved less and axl was the one who made the fuss about it. Axl and Izzy wrote Mr. Brownstone on a grocery bag about their heroin addiction and Slash thought up the chorus to Paradise city. These are both little examples. That's all I was stating in my original point on here. That AXL WRITES THE LYRICS. Get over it. You're just a bitter Axl hater, and I can understand why. @linkinmcr Axl was paid more, Slash clearly states in his book that Axl took 25% off Appetite but him, Izzy and Duff got only 20% and Adler took only 15%. This isn't a false fact, it's true, as I've said Slash states it in his autobiography. And Axl has more wrting credits on the UUI albums so I imagine he wanted more royalties. I guess we'll beg to differ.

Slash came up with the melody, Axl started singing 'take me down to the paradise city' and slash came up with 'where the grass is green and the girls are pretty.' and 'where girls are fat and they've got big titties', which, obviously, didn't stick, but I think it's rather catchy. Not that I like fat chicks but, too each his own.

I heard this song live last night at the Boston House of Blues. It sounds incredible live, and has quickly become one of my favorite songs. Slash is a great musician on the level of John Williams and Beethoven. It's impossible to fully appreciate the intricacies of his work until you've seen him perform live.

I had the opportunity to see live a consent to GNR in 1993 but everything went to see Slash, GNR came in 2010 came here to El Salvador and gave me no interest in going to see them only because they lacked the best of the better slash!!!
