"or maybe copy some of them wicked concept cars"... nice grammar... maybe them legally troubling copyright and trademark laws stop some companies from spending heaps of money to replicate a design they DO NOT OWN, only to be sued by the people that do. Ferrari and Lamborghini have been doing a great job at this, forcing the few companies that want to risk total economic disaster from running underground.... not a great business plan...
I like kit cars, but why don't these same company's make some of there own cars (as kits), or maybe copy some of them wicked concept cars that we keep seeing at motor shows.
I'm in the market for a near exact replica of a Ferrari or Lambo. How much would it cost me in UK pounds? Only important thing is looks and sound, and as long as it goes i don't care about speed.
The kit cars are cool. I have always wondered how they can make a car that looks just like a lambo or Farrari. Don't those designs belong to the companies that originally made them?
Erm... it can lap the Dunsfold track (the one off the telly) in 1:12.8 - that's near on five seconds quicker than Koenigsegg CXX. You don't do that if the car isn't going where you point it.
and ferrari would have to stop selling all there emblems
and seeing how stickers isnt illagel to put on ur car theyll get sued for mintally endagering someone for trying to sue them for hundred-thusands dollars just to give it up in court
In the past they went after kit makers for putting the emblems on the car at the factory. Then the kit makers stopped that and let the buyers do it instead. Still, I don't see those quality kits in the US. We have the same old, same old.
Man thanks for sharing this info. I was a kitcar fan some 20 years ago. Man, they evolved A LOT! Ok, still some clasics (GT40, Stratos, ...) and ... I hear of a revival of the Eagle SS. Great. I still love that one. I worked as a foreign job experience student some months in the firm at Storrington.

Kit Cars are awesome. All modern supercar kit cars are LAME. Diablos, ferrari 360 and so on. They are all just boring and all a total joke.
All classic replicas are bad ass though. Cobra, Daytona and so on are all amazing cars :)

How does the British get away with those Ferrari replicas? Ferrari is the type of company that will send its lawyers after you!
