why is everyone hating on this movie.it's not supposed to be like the exorcist 1. It's what happened after and how they get rid of pazuzu from reagan.
you know i kinda find it funny and yet insulting that they made a sequal to a already perfect masterpiece! I mean yes i know it hollywood and they only care mainly on the money. But didnt they know you cant really top what they did in the first movie! this movie failed cuz its 1.a sequal, 2.unnessessary,3.overlycast,4.is tryping to put logic into why she became possessed. 4.using science to make sense of whats going on. it would be like making a sequal to citizen kane, it just doesnt work.
I wouldn't say the movie is Ed Wood level of shlock, but it is a shoddy poorly paced slapdash big budget hollywood production. It was Hollywood trying to squeeze a little money out of an existing audience. Ed Wood would be something some college kids shot in their backyard. Good soundtrack though.
The movie should have been so much better than it turned out - The sequel to one of the greatest horror movies ever made, John Boorman directing, Richard Burton, Louise Fletcher and James Earl Jones among the cast and this freaking AWESOME soundtrack by Ennio Morricone. What the hell went wrong? :(
cette musique est fantastique car pour ceux qui entende avec leur coeur cette musique raconte les mystère de la vie est avec la volonté rien n'est impossible
Youtube is so lame. No one has uploaded videos of the movie. I wanna watch it. Come on people... Someone has to put it up. I can't. That's why i'm trying to watch it on here. Just please guys. Upload the actual movie. In parts if you must.
This movie gets dumped on alot, but I will say that at least it's a compulsively watchable bad movie, which is more than you can say for most famous "bombs." Morricone's score is pretty good too.
Perfect picture for this song though I liked it much better with just the one scary face at the end, more tension before, more subtle and powerful like the song.
@gdwme i have some respect 4 the film, 4 parts r interesting.and cool, .but the first 1 is my fav..but this score is something else! i tend 2 love ennio`s work...great composer, and this is a brilliant sndtrk..
Boorman's original was cut to shreds shortly after it was released due to poor box office. I guess the studios thought the public was wanting more kiddy-porn disguised as horror like the first one, not a story with integrity and depth like E2, so they cut key scenes near the end and shortened it. The original first cut version was available on VHS for a while but the DVD has nothing about it being the "original". Morricone's score is the best thing about it.
I love this movie, and the theme song is so beautiful! My favorite part is the scene where the locusts pile up at Regan's feet as she spins in place--while the theme song continues to play in the background. This scene to me is quite moving as well as touching, and represents the final triumph of good over evil.
Ennio Morricone, always a master, delivered yet another exquisite score for this unfortunate film. The horrendous script is continously elevated by his magnificent, characteristic, and daring score. I consider this one of his greatest triumphs. It works on all levels.......beautifully!
This song is so beautiful when you listen to it along with the very ending of the Exorcist II. She flails her arms around and gets the locusts to land. Then her therapist starts tearing up and she walks off with Richard Burton. That was really the only good part of the movie. The rest was embarrassingly stupid.
@Silvawynta Its not such a bad film, it does have some good and original ideas, but it was badly made by a otherwise good director, shame. what was your novella about by the way
@Silvawynta ...no offense, but i bet your first novella is about crap¡¡¡ because this movie is. Nothing compares to the ONE, ONLY AND ORIGINAL EXORCIST. This exorcist 2 still in the same category than ED WOOD MOVIES. Worth a laugh, no more.
@rabidsnakebite9 It's a story shorter than a novel but longer than a novelette, usually between 17,500 and 40,000 words (if you go by the SFWA definition).
I used to adore this film, when I watched it in 89/90...2 scenes that I liked: when Sandra started to talk, after meeting Regan; and the end, when the walls of the house were distroyed...ah, and the songs (with this one) are cool too!
The first time I saw the scene (myy fave) when Sandra spoke made me tear up. Now years later I still get choked up. My other fav part is when Regan is whirling in the wind and the dead locusts fall at her feet.
I agree! About the scene with Sandra, the 'chorus' that can be listened (when Regan talks to her), is nice too...and another one, after the house being destroyed, when Mrs. Tuskin told Regan that 'could understand, but the world not yet' (this could be seen in another version); great scene!
Found this after so long....The musics been haunting me since i was a little boy...Its beautiful. Crazy that it was in a movie like this....So beautiful!
Really good song, its epic!, as for the movie not so great, the first Exorcist was the only good one, and will always be a classic The Exorcist was made way before its time and is still way before its time, The Exorcist is history.

In truth, there is a piece, from his o.s.t. "Revolver"(1973)
