Michael Rabin is quite possibly the greatest violinist of the 20th century. Too bad he met such an unfortunate end. Kravakos however, I have very high hopes for him. He could be the next greatest.

Kavakos is left-handed. I think this is why his left hand looks so relaxed, and perhaps his right hand looks a little bit different from the standards. He's a very gifted violinist. To me, he's the best ever.

William Kroll was my chamber teacher at the Mannes College of Music in New York City. One day during a break in a lesson I casually asked him what he thought of the recording of his piece by Jascha Heifetz. He looked at me with a big smile on his face and said, too fast. He then proceeded to play it for me in the style of Fritz Kreisler. His performance indicated to me that "Banjo And Fiddle" was never intended to be a vehicle for a virtuoso display. .

Mr Kavakos is simply incredible. In this piece, he reminds me of Ruggiero Ricci. I believe he is the only bearded concert violinist out there. Bravo!!!
