This is my uncle. I was just made aware of this today. This is funny. He has every right to be angry. He works very hard and has dedicated his life to serving his fellow Haitians, and this was a great injustice. Another group of passengers, was taken to a hotel, they were all anglo, and these Haitians were left stranded and only offered $12!
He was making his monthly trip to help build a new hospital for the deaf, among other volunteer duties. He was angry about being delayed 11 hours. We need more men like him. I just would like a translation!
I applaud the fact that he voiced his outrage & spoke on behalf of the often disenfranchised Haitian people. There are strength in numbers however & I assure you if more people spoke up, the airlines may have offered provisions like water.
@Bebez maybe you are one of those passengers who travel once a year. when you get stranded for hours and cant get to your final destination, come back and let me know how you feel. maybe they dont have money to buy a pack of chips that sell for $3 at the airport.
Haiti has it's own airlines again "AIR AYITI" and Delta is also running flights in Haiti now too so more competition for Americam Airlines. AA has been abusing Ayisyens for years, horrible service, outrageous fares, etc.
Stranded without food or nothing?? Really?? The airport has food, they could buy some. Its right upstairs. Theres water coolers in the waiting area -__-
This is the essence of what he said. Our own Haitian brothers do not respect us neither the foreigners. We have to put our heads together ,arrive at a waiting area with discipline, as the foreigners do and demand our rights when they are being violated .As you can see the foreigners are not here. They were notified of the flight being delayed, picked up and placed in a hotel. What is a measly 12 dollars?
We need to know our rights, we need to stand for our rights. We are tired. I am sixty three years old and came to visit Haiti with my grand child the first time to be running up and down when he needs be back in school tomorrow and should not have to be going through this ordeal.
@372973 If we destroy everything that comes to our way when fighting for our right, we will never attract investors to our country! If everyone could express their feelings like he did, a lot of things would change for the better in Haiti!
I Wish I was There I woulda been behind him Saying WI SE VREE ! LOL
