D&D Slayer was and is by far the best D&D videogame ever made. I still play it on the 3do I got in 1998 at a radioshack. This game, Dragon Lore, Dragon's Lair, PO'ed, Killing Time, Corps Killer and W40k Space Hulk: Vengence of the Blood Angels are some of my favorite games for the 3DO. I wish there were revamped versions of all of these great games for 360, PS3 and PC.
Tight hallways with 1st person view and weird creatures coming to kill you, arg, the kind of game which I would not want to play alone in the dark. (no pun intended)
Such an amazing game, brings back memories of watching my older brother play it. 'Till I could play it myself, and then I had a real blast. Someone should do a "Lets play" of this. If not someone else, then I could try my hand at it.
But the music for this game was -amazing-. Really set the atmosphere for things. Nothing quite like it. The mere music of it encourages me to pick up the game and play again. Thanks for uploading this.
@CLeRKSfan4life Taking note that you posted this comment a year ago and I'm only asuming you got it, how do you like your 3DO so far or did you even get it? I'm just asking because I'm trying to win an argument and your opinion might help.
I remember when blockbusters had 3do rentable games. I still have a 3do, I don't have many games for it but they are all good games, killing time, blade force, guardian war, monster manor etc.
Late at night this was the game to play and for the time it was bomb, just to hear this song brought back so meany great memories. Everyone hated the worms...
OMG what a memories!!! one of great games on 3do, any1 know where to download all soundtracks of it? i have to admit that background music is awesome!
I want the music from this game too! I've been trying to work out ways to run it through emulation under Linux, but with no luck. I'll have to keep an eye out on ebay for an actual console. I'm worried I wouldn't be able to connect it to my HDTV though, I know the PS1 won't.
damn I never knew I played an rpg back when I was 8.. no wonder I sucked at it, anyways I miss this game and all the awesomeness 3DO brang.. soccer kid, total eclipse, road rash, fatty bear, and so much moreeee!
God this game used to scare the shit out of me, the music makes me even more nostalgic, i havnt forgotten it at all!
Sucks for me at the moment as I can't get past 27 fps on a p4 1.5, 512 ram, 64 meg mx400! Shame as everyone else says that it works fine for them, maybe I got a bad bios!
OMG, i never had the chance to own a 3DO, i knew someone in my neighborhood that had one.....the graphics in the game are WONDERFUL! better than PS1 in alot of cases and some games seem to match PS2 or close to it....i wish i had one of these consoles!!
not even close, its just CG not real-time. I'd say the 3do falls somewhere between the snes and saturn. It does have many more good games than people realise.
How did you get this video online, was it from a ROM or something? I have it on Freedo, the sound is terrible, but movement and graphics are fine. I used to love the 3DO, I hope to pick one up off ebay in the future. Slayer, Wolfenstein 3D and Poed were favourites. Rise of the Robots is possibly the worst game I have ever played.
You could get some video capture software to capture the video from Freedo. I make my videos off of a real 3DO, and capture the video with a video capture card.
What's funny is, I can run this game perfect in Freedo, but Deathkeep, which I believe came out before Slayer, stutters like mad. Great game, very much like eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Hack.

Ahh, if only FreeDO didn't suck 3DO emulation would be the bomb. No joystick support for FreeDO means suckiness.

do what I do, use Joy2Key. I've always used my gamepad with FreeDO
