  • the whole song while they are looking at each other its like they are having a moment and who ever interrupts will cause the universe will collapse

  • The guy tapping spoilt, for sure, but can't escape these two icons and this beautiful song. (still like ONJ version) thanks bob .

  • Love the 2 voices...Beautiful Harmony !!! First time I hear this version !!!

Always thought it was Olivia's song :)) Thank you for posting.

Enjoyed it very much. Big Thumbs Up !!!

  • Why is that crazy guy banging on George Harrison guitar?

  • @cwcwful hes testing the mic its a rehearsal

  • @cwcwful Checking for feedback. I wondered as well at first. :)

  • The things I'd do to be that guy at 0:46

  • why did they not do this at the concert?

  • I think I read somewhere that when George was dying, he was asked what music he listened to,

the answer, Bob Dylan. Great tribute to an amazing duo.

  • their guitar syncopation is great

    their vocal matching is eh

  • @doctormarmalade True... well, it's a rehearsal after all.

  • @BilisNegra not true at all actually :P their harmonies are awesome

  • Lotta denim goin' on here...

  • I honestly think that George, despite the somewhat quiet and reserved nature of his, was the 'nicest' Beatle. Of course, I can't justify that claim because I was never lucky enough to meet the man, but from what I've read he sounds like a great guy. I love all four of them, but Paul can come off as self centered at times, John could be quite hot headed, and as for Ringo... well, he was too stoned to remember.

  • Awesome song, nothing else to say

  • genios !!

  • Sweet!

  • i think it's the first time i see bobby doing good harmonies with another musician... and its great

  • in a world full of guys in blue jeans strummin' and singin'.....NOBODY touches these 2.

  • I like the Canadian tuxedos

  • Whats wrong u 11 ?? Ur names is adolf; bush, il`kim 1-11 , blair a.s. good its only 1 then its just humane behavior to kill u hhehe kidden lads im sry for u all

  • i love how they're looking at each other.

  • que linda cancion!!!

  • From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    "If Not For You"

"If Not for You" is a song written and performed by Bob Dylan, recorded for his 1970 album New Morning. George Harrison released a version of the song in November 1970 (Dylan had released his the previous month) on his album All Things Must Pass. The following year, Dylan and Harrison would duet on "If Not for You" during a sound check for the Concert for Bangladesh

  • Two of my all time favorites, great, great duet....huichol53.....

  • @huichol53 you must love The Wilbury's then

  • Everybody keeps arguing over who sang it better, Dylan or Harrison, but I far prefer the two of them singing it together.

  • @peaceandrosegirl right on man thank you

  • I love this song I cant find the download for it anywhere! I really like this specific version better than the original. George and Bob make a good pair. How come my generation cant make good music like this? and HOT DAMn George looks so hot in his tight jeans and his unbuttoned jacket.

  • 2 legends !!! god bless ! !!!

  • I love how they one off hits and walk away like it was nothing!

  • ahh im soo glad dylan is back on YT

  • Need to make a documentary from the extra footage and new interviews. I'll direct it.

  • @randlec6 Well. Now that I am educated, I can see why I thought that GH wrote this song, instead of BD.. Gh's version is definitely 'better'. No offense, man. It is just my opinion. Yes, I love Bob Dylan. But, to be honest, I think that George Harrison was better than Bob (no offense Bob--I still love you, Bob), on this one.

  • what a denim frenzy

  • Dear randlec6: I'm sorry, man (you were probably led astray), but this is a George Harrison song. Still don't believe me? Then, check out the new HBO special biopic of George Harrison. George's widow, Olivia, specifically talks about this song. Yes, they sang together, and Olivia explains how it happened, and why. Or, you could go to Wiki....

Not trying to 'show you up', man. Just wanting to let fans know the truth. Peace.

  • @MicroWorldLover They both recorded it separately in the same year but Dylan definitely wrote it. Both versions are great!

  • @delthorpe223 How COULD I have been so ignorant? Thank you @dethorpe223 for letting me know that. I feel that @randlec6 'hates' me, now. Sorry, man, but I was on the ignorant path of faith (and you can use it for a song lyric, if you wish, no copyright, no royalties). But, if you don't want to, then, please let me know, LOL!

  • @delthorpe223 Yes. Yes, they are. They are great, together. But, separately? They are phenomenal.

  • omg my heart is pounding and i feel so weired but in a funny way while watching a listening this. What do you call that? I <3 George and Bob

  • such an amazing song! this song makes me so happy :). ti should be illegal to have a dislike button on this song.

  • bless them both. probably the only man to ever hold bobs attention completely. bless you george harrison. rest easy.

  • TWO GIANTS!!!

  • I love the chemistry between those two. Dylan and Harrison looking at each other, thinking both "this guy knows what I'm talking about"

  • @beatles0072 Nah, George is thinking "I wished we had rehearsed this."

  • @Ardalla555 hahaha, also true

  • @beatles0072 Its actually quite funny, it says on one of the tribute documentaries released after George died that Dylan turned up late for this gig and absolutley wrecked out of his brain, and played everything diffrentley from rehersals so george was watching him so closely thinking "ahh whats he doing?!"

  • @TheJCNEILL I didn't know that, interesting, but I think Dylan 'always' changes his songs when he performs live, so I don't think it's that weird for him to do this... I mean after all it's a good vibe that you get from this...

  • Love those guys .Gods precious gift to mankind . God bless

  • My heroes together....

  • What is this? this does not appear in the video of the concert, or the record ... It's great

  • I miss George...

  • i love them individually, but as a combo, their voices are pretty-much oil and water to me. *shrug*

  • nice combo, comfortable like old shoes

  • If Not For YOU~ ~♥~ I would be sad~ But Because of You~ I'm Happy~♥Voices~

  • Harmonica and guitar at the same time still BLOWS my mind.

  • wowowowowowow AMAZING WE LOVE YOU OLD BASTARD WE LOVE YOU

  • Geoege is freaking out wit joy on the inside. He was the biggest Bob Dylan fangirl xD

  • This gives me goosebumps...simple but so amazing.

  • Bob Dylan has at some time in his life embodied the personalities of each of the beatles : the ruthless rockstar - John - in Don't Look Back , the otherworldly contemplative thinker - George - in his born-again christian phase, the romantic familyman - Paul - with Sara Dylan and the kids, and the Ringo in the silly clothing fashion and musical imperfectness of his 21st century live performances

  • 9 people here are full of shit....

  • Rare early Wilburys material ;)

  • For two of the most famous musicians playing a fantastic song, this looks like two unknown guys playing a high school gig. I love these guys.

  • SOOOOO beautiful ... true soul music

  • I love how Dylan is always adjusting his guitar while playing. Lol

  • is that the Seals & Crofts dude performing with Dylan?

  • W/o HIM, all of us are nothing.

  • Woww que par.......

  • 1.37 Giggle ♥

  • X:)..4 years eh?

  • I think it says something about George that you can find so many videos of him pairing up with great musicians. Dylan, Clapton, Simon, Springsteen, etc. He must have been a blast to play with. And a nice guy.

  • @nevikmoore I think he was the only Beatle who didn't have an ego the size of his bank account...

  • @nevikmoore Harrison was like a thoroughbred who couldn't get out of the starting gate having been held back for so long by Lennon and McCartney. Once that relationship was legally dissolved, he made the most of his musical partnerships such as The Traveling Wilburys.

    He surpassed Lennon musically post-Beatles.

  • 2 Giants on stage.... the star power bent the time space continuum...

  • Two awesome musicians !!! I wish George was still around today.

  • thats more denim then my eyes can handle

  • I just shit~E

  • THIS IS FLAWLESS

  • May Pang later said in her book: "George was upset with John, because he wanted John to be part of the show when he was first planning and organizing it, but John turned him down, which didn't sit well with George."

  • Perfect.

  • @LEEUMSK8 no kidding! total awe....

  • "I decided to go see george during his bangadesh concert, because I could see the show was lacking some, you know, karma. I wanted to help him out so I waited for him to invite me on stage, but he never did." - John Lennon

  • their voices match so well, allright

  • Love that giggle from George at about @1:35

  • I love the way Bob gets his harmonica into it.

  • harrison's insecurity as a singer is nakedly apparent here as its obvious and embarrassing in the solo parts of the song, how he tries to ape dylan's style and voice.

  • @kelvinkloud That's ridiculous.

  • @therockvilleband..actually not, listen to earlier singing w/ beatles, he didnt cop for it then. from '62 on,george's voice tended to be too thin. so later as his beatle role fittingly (legit global/religious sincerity) expanded to the deep thinker, he gravitated his style to the deepest of singers, dylan. he wasnt the only one, many in the singer/songwriter format did. w/ harrison it just too pandering imo, esp considering his stature. he wouldve been better served to stay w/ his former style.

  • @kelvinkloud no

  • fratelli

  • <3<3

  • che coppia.

  • FUCK YEAH! best duet ever or what... love ittt

  • Well, frankly, and i'm a Harrison and Dylan fan, that's just a rehearsal, and that's not the most brilliant performance i saw, and that's ok. There's something mechanic about it, they're not sure of where the voices go, Dylan is not sure of the lyrics. I don't see how that makes me a hater or a loser of any kind. I still deeply respect them, they cant' be good everytime, and that's just a rehearsal to see how things work, that's not supposed to be a big musical moment.

  • Simply put, this is George playing with one of his heroes.

  • isso sim é uma dupla caipira d qualidade..

    cheers from brazil!

  • Very Cool !

    Cheers!

  • I agree, how could anyone not like this video..

  • The dislike part of Youtube is for losers who get hit in the nuts for the hundreth time not for Bob and George. Too many haters

  • jean on jean combo never looked so great, lol

  • Seems to be something of a bromance going on there.

  • Why do people have to criticize: "Oh, this isn't historical, Oh, Bob Dylan wrote it, he was better than George...ETC." I mean, why not enjoy it? It happened, right? I don't see George or Bob disliking it or hating on it. Geez, ya'll, get your minds right.

  • Doctor Robert!

  • How's this one rehearsal a historic moment?

They jammed together for a lot longer. Good friends they were.

    Get the bootlegs.

  • Love this video! Thanks for sharing!

  • that wouldve been amazing to see live.

  • Love seeing buddies singing together. George brought Dylan out of his self imposed seclusion for this session. Incredible.

  • Hippies need a bath.

  • This is priceless, thanks for posting!

  • 4 people couldn't find the door...

  • uffff por dios.. que placer escuchar a 2 de las voces mas dulces y relajantes del mundo!!

  • two great legends together!

  • Tylercox2: Being he was a "soundman" he should have been able to use his EARS, tapping totally not necessary in any way. Yes, it's a soundcheck, but it was also a historic moment. They didn't do this song for the show.

  • @Davian67 ok so soundman messed up, but its part of the recording now..or you can ted turner and have the mic-check "disappeared". But that wouldnt be cool.

  • WOW!!!

  • Awesome! Where did the years go, though?

  • ענקים

  • Two legends together

  • awesome.

  • Dois monstros sagrados da música!

  • thye should make a supergroup

    Paul Mc - Bass

    Ringo - Drums

    Clapton - Lead

Bob Dylan - Vox and rhythm

  • jesus and god playing guitar together

  • @darmel100 Great comment!

No ego's here....just respect, friendship & a common love of music.

  • @darmel100 LOL

  • @darmel100

take a bow sir. you just spoke as a prophet

  • @darmel100 george is god right?

  • @darmel100 i dont see eric clapton anywhere in this video

  • @darmel100 HA! no friend just Bob n George.

  • This is a wonderful performance!

BTW, the sound guy was a total idiot for tapping the mic while they were playing, what a tool.

  • @Davian67 Its a rehearsal...sound check...hes making sure everything is working. U want a better version watch the actual performance.

  • One of those things that makes me wanna do something with my life, don't even know why. Maybe because there is beauty in this world that deserves to be discovered, seen and enjoyed. You know what I mean.

  • @Misspretty75 beautifully stated. i feel the same way.

  • Nice find! Gimme more! Thank you.

  • this is the best fuckin thing in jeans

  • Wow how did i miss this video before...they sound great together =)

  • I LOVE THEM!!!

  • George is.. oddly sexy with this look.

  • Classic! Love it!

  • 2 of my most favorite people to ever walk this planet....and they sound so perfect together!

  • i hate posting comments about the dislike bar but cmon WHO THE FUCK COULDVE POSSIBLY DISLIKED THIS?????

  • @fguka who cares what some people like or dislike and why are you bothering yourself with it. i never look at how many people dislike a video beacuse i know HOW MANY NOOBS MUST BE LOOKING AT YOUTUBE EVERY DAY.... so... there is your answer.

  • @fguka Dylan's songwriting ability is a given, but his voice is another thing altogether. To be kind, it's an acquired taste. That would be my guess.

  • @fguka Trolls my friend....trolls

  • @fguka They must've accidentally clicked on the dislike block, lol! I agree, how the fuck do you dislike this?

  • @fguka Possibly someone who doesn't like race mixing and Communism.

  • April 7, 2008: Bob Dylan is given an honorary Pulitzer Prize for his impact on music and culture. ☺

  • @StLouisEarl And it's well deserved =)

  • @StLouisEarl Hey St Louis, you are a rare person to mention Mr D won the pulitzer in '08/ I heard it was for songwriter of the century. I believe the Bangladesh concert was the 1st time Bob got on stage after the bad motorcycle accident. He was gettin his legs back.. rite. George used to quote Bob b4 he met Bob. We all are only human, rite.

  • what guitar harrison use here?????

  • Comment removed

  • Two of my favorite musicians of all time

  • George Harrison = 70's era Billy Connolly

  • I heard George say on an MTV interview that Dylan didn't show up till the very last minute for his set at this concert and that George was almost in a panic, Worked out beautifully though.

  • a rare rock duo classic both guitar heroes as youve never seen before, a class act, a masterpiece thanks for sharing this fanrocktastic video

  • Interesting that if these 2 were a couple of unknowns auditioning for "American Idol" they'd wouldn't make the cut with this performance today.

  • @paulncost fuck religion, American Idol is the opiate of the masses.

  • @paulncost It's not an audition or a performance, it's a rehearsal.

  • @paulncost It's not an audition or a performance, it's a rehearsal. It's for the technicians, not the public. More about are the lights in the right place and can we hear them, than if they move us.

  • @paulncost But it's not like the American Idol people have to write their own material... And plus, you're gonna judge their talent off a SOUNDCHECK?

  • @SpiirytStarrchild

Paulncost is probably right, and that's one of the reason's I despise American Idol. Besides, I'd rather hear Harrison and Dylan at a sound check that those Idol contestants doing their well-rehearsed impersonations of air raid sirens.

  • @RegainedParadise "those Idol contestants doing their well-rehearsed impersonations of air raid sirens." HAHAHAHHA XD

  • funny how the awkwardness at the start slips away and they really harmonize by the end.

  • Great music. Thanks for sharing,.

  • @elvccvproductions That would be a duo. But there's always The Traveling Wilburys :D

  • That little laugh makes them sound like teenagers again for that split moment

  • Two of the best, both of them will have a place in the stars set aside for them
