Nicely and calmly unhooked, many other so called "fisherman" would just lift it straight out by the line in an over-excited way and drop it down on the bank needlessly destroying its protective slim, injuring and over stressing the fish with usually dies later even if it looks fine, nor would they have let the pike have those couple of extra runs while you were attempting to land it, good job, done like this its even better than a net (where possible) and avoids fish getting badly hooked too.
