Although better known for their Yiddish songs, they also made a very wonderful LP titled "side by side" with songs like : why don`t you do right / Come`prima / cry me a river / misty / I1m a fool to want you ,etc. But the song I like best of that Lp is their "chinese" rendition of "Who`s sorry now" , really funny ,but same time also very great singing.

Yes there were recorders but on the internet there is only one recording with them moving. I saw a lot more recordings in 1957 when I was a kid. A lot more then one.

Hardly anybody knows what a revolution in the life of Russian Jews was Berry sisters arrival to Russia in the late 60s(?).

To the oppressed and scarred Jewry they brought optimism, the joy of life and a pride to be Jewish. Their songs sounded in each sef-conscious Jewish home.

I just love this, such a pitty my mama can't listen to this anymore. She would have loved the internet, she was crazy about all jiddish songs, the only thing she had left of a family of 120 who all were killed in Sobibor and Auschwitz. She would have loft it simply on the fact that there were so many of us left and have a great life, so the nazi's havent won after all. (ah sorry, didnot even want to bring that up, dont know why I said that...)

The sisters ain't ugly that's what I meant. I've seen less atractive girls in my life. They sing nice, all in that is quite sexy to me. But maybe you're a talented supermodel :) good for you than.

The sisters look nice, they sing beautiful, and no, I am not a supermodel :), not that I am ugly.... (at least my friends tell me so)

Thinking about it I'm the one who should be sorry, I often think bout the Holocaust too, I live quite near Auschwitz and visit it often, sorry I apologise for what I said- you have your law to think and say what you want, as I think of what you said I wish my grandpa would live long enough to also hear and see all the songs in iddish, now in Poland there are many festivals, many people fell in love in jewish culture, I think my grandfather would love to see happy faces of young people plaing

That is verry sad what you tell about your grandfathers feeling, but something to understand. It is nice to know jewish culture revives in Poland. And I do understand your feelings of being robbed, not only of our family, but of a way of life that is never comming back and that is what hurts us. It makes me listening to all those great songs in yiddisch here on You Tube. Most of the time with a lot of warm feelings and sometimes with tears in my eyes.
