@kayjo101 Actually my midwife knew what she was doing. The baby was coming a bit too fast, and when a baby comes too fast it can cause tearing. As it was I pushed anyway and wound up with some pretty good tearing.
Please remember that it's easy to play armchair midwife when you're not actually there, and please remember not to poopoo on other people's birth experiences :) My birth was a wondrous experience which was why I had a desire to share it.
@kayjo101 That isn't always a good thing :) As it was I didn't listen and wound up receiving 3rd degree tears. What you don't know and my midwife did was that I had 3 previous episiotomies because of my hospital birth. If the baby comes through too fast through an episiotomy scar it can tear, and that is what happened. Please remember it is very easy to play armchair midwife when you don't know a patient's full history.
My bag of waters (amniotic sac) was "in the way." The way the baby's head was positioned wasn't allowing my water to break and making my labor longer and more uncomfortable.
that midwife was so rude. Its mean people like that and they ruin your birth. I feel so bad watching this poor mom. That midwife was not gentle, or calm or respectful.
unprofessional and rude. at 3:34 midwife says "don't give a shit huh" .that is so direspectfull. great job to the mommy though. you did really well for dealing with that negative midwife.
@LQ58 I do appreciate your insight, but the midwife is actually a friend of mine. lol She knows how to talk to me. I'm rather a rough around the edges kinda person so she actually dealt with me beautifully.
I will stop here for a minute and defend my midwife :) She and I became friends over the course of my pregnancy. A midwife tends to become closer to you and knows how to "handle" you more than an OB or nurse in a hospital does so she knows how to keep you focused better. While she did get rather brusque with me, and I kind of wish she had been a bit more gentle she handled me the way I needed her to. She and I are still good friends, and she is now training me. :)
lol..That is pure transition emotional sign #3 .. LOL ... Im watching it like breath through your tummy girl..you can do it..breath past it..lol I felt the best rotating my chest and hips through my contractions.. someone should let the midwife know the bag of water is not in the way its called "forewater" and that helps open the cervix and stops your babys head from coning too crazy like a pressure equalizer..
This midwife is kinda pushy and unpleasant

"Don't push yet" ... WHAT?! If the body is telling you to push, PUSH! Let nature take it's coarse as it pleases.

what did the midwife do? Your "bag" was in the way? What did she mean?
